My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 52: Chapter 50: Excellent Disciple

The next morning, Qin Fang woke up bright and early.

He had gone to bed early yesterday, and today he woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy.

The sky was still dark, and the cold was biting.

After getting dressed, he went out into the courtyard to move his body. Qin Fang exhaled a cloud of white mist as he took stock of his current physical condition.

’After starting Martial Cultivation, my body’s recovery seems to have improved significantly... Is it because of the two Qi Blood Pills from yesterday?’

Qin Fang’s eyes shone brightly.

Usually when he woke up, he would feel an indescribable fatigue deep in his body that took a long time to shake off.

But waking up today, that sense of fatigue had clearly faded, and his body felt light and agile.

Moreover, he didn’t have that usual feeling of being sleepy no matter how much he slept.

This tangible improvement made his eyes sparkle, filling him with motivation.

’Hmm, I need to make a plan... A planned cultivation regimen is the only way to improve efficiency.’

Qin Fang thought to himself.

The first three days of his cultivation had felt a bit chaotic, training whatever came to mind. That clearly wouldn’t do.

’First, there’s the Pile... It’s the foundation and I must practice it every day. But without taking a Qi Blood Pill, the benefits of the Standing Pile are very low. The effect is best only when I do it after taking a pill. But right now, I can only take one Qi Blood Pill a day... the effect of the second one is diminished...’

Qin Fang began to ponder as he stretched his body.

A moment later, he let out a light breath, having sorted out his thoughts.

’When I wake up, I’ll first do a set of exercises from my past life to simply warm up my body. Then, I’ll take a Qi Blood Pill and practice the Standing Pile. After an hour of Standing Pile, the elixir’s medicinal power will be mostly used up, and my stamina will also decrease... I’ll use the little bit of power that remains to practice the Ox Demon Fist... After one round of the fist technique, I’ll eat breakfast and rest. In the afternoon, I’ll practice Darts... In the evening, depending on my body’s condition, I’ll either do another set of exercises from my past life or practice the fist technique for half an hour...’

There was no other way.

Qi Blood Pills were too expensive.

To maximize their effectiveness, one pill a day was enough. This would ensure that every Qi Blood Pill was used to its highest potential.

The rest of the time would be mainly for practicing the fist technique and Darts.

Especially the Darts; he was close to the next stage... He didn’t know what changes the next stage would bring, or what he might come to comprehend...

Qin Fang thought with a sense of anticipation.

Having set his plan, Qin Fang, with his amazing self-discipline, immediately began to act on it.

After twisting and stretching his body a little, he started doing push-ups.

As soon as he started, he immediately felt a difference.

’My body really has gotten better... Before today, when I did push-ups, I could do twenty at most before my arms would feel sore and weak, making it hard to continue. I’d have to rest before I could go on. But today...’

He did fifty in one go before he felt a hint of soreness in his arms.

But he could clearly feel that he was recovering very quickly!

It was clear that not only had his stamina increased, but even his recovery ability had improved significantly!

However, Qin Fang didn’t force himself to continue until he was exhausted... After all, he just wanted to warm up his body, not train with push-ups indefinitely.

After a hundred push-ups, panting slightly with sweat beading on his forehead, Qin Fang stopped.

Then he did sit-ups... also a hundred of them.

After getting up, he did a hundred jumping jacks...

When he finished the set, about half an hour in his past life’s terms had passed.

Qin Fang let out a long breath.

He could feel his body getting slightly warm; he was thoroughly warmed up.

He didn’t continue with more strenuous exercises... it would consume too much stamina and would definitely affect the Standing Pile session that followed.

He took out a Qi Blood Pill, preparing for today’s Standing Pile.

But just then, there was a knock on the courtyard gate.

He froze for a moment, instinctively looking toward the gate.

’...Who could it be, this early?’

His brow furrowed slightly. Just in case, he tucked his Darts onto his person before walking to the entrance.

One look, and he froze again, then quickly opened the gate.

”Master.”

Outside the gate stood none other than his master.

Elder Wu looked Qin Fang up and down, his eyes narrowing slightly...

What kind of perception did he possess?

Even Zhou Xing could tell at a glance that Qin Fang had integrated his kung fu. Let alone Elder Wu?

’Has he really integrated it?’

He was somewhat shaken inwardly.

He had been shocked when he heard it from his wife yesterday. In fact, he had wanted to come and see for himself right then.

But considering how late it was, he had suppressed his curiosity in the end.

But as soon as he woke up today, he came to see his disciple first thing... He had to see it with his own eyes to be at ease.

”Mm.”

He grunted in acknowledgment and walked through the gate.

Qin Fang quickly closed the gate and followed behind his master.

”Have you done your Standing Pile yet?” his master asked, turning his head.

Qin Fang shook his head honestly. ”Not yet... I just got up and warmed up my body.”

Elder Wu looked up, saw the light sheen of sweat on Qin Fang’s forehead, and nodded gently. ”You’ve done well... Maintaining a warmed-up state for the Standing Pile will make it more effective... Have you seen your senior brother?”

”Yes, I have.”

”...He figured out you were the one who killed Wang Long, didn’t he?”

Qin Fang was silent for a moment, then let out a light breath. ”He must have.”

”Then it’s fine,” Elder Wu said calmly. ”Since he figured it out but didn’t immediately turn on you, it means he doesn’t intend to pursue the matter. He even taught you a Fist Technique...”

Hearing his master say this, Qin Fang also let out a sigh of relief and nodded. ”Senior Brother is very kind.”

”Mm.”

Elder Wu nodded, not saying anything more on the subject. Instead, he said, ”Your senior brother told me you’ve already integrated your kung fu... and you do seem to have the air of it... Perform the Standing Pile for me to see.”

Qin Fang exhaled lightly and nodded.

He already knew what it meant to have his kung fu integrated.

Walking to his usual spot for the Standing Pile, Qin Fang suddenly paused and asked, ”Master, can I take a Qi Blood Pill now?”

Elder Wu was taken aback for a moment, then nodded. ”A Qi Blood Pill is meant to be taken before the Standing Pile. Its medicinal power is very strong; if it’s not consumed through the Standing Pile, most of it will be wasted... I forgot to tell you that the other day... It’s very good that you could figure this out on your own.”

There was a hint of praise in Elder Wu’s voice.

What is the worst thing when teaching a disciple?

It’s when the disciple only does what they are taught... but doesn’t know how to think for themselves.

That is ’stupidity’.

A good disciple is one who, when taught one thing, can immediately infer three more... Perhaps they might make mistakes along the way.

But what does it matter if they’re wrong?

Even taking a small detour is better than just mechanically following in the master’s footsteps.

They all say the student surpasses the master.

If you don’t even have this awareness for independent learning and adaptation... then how can you even talk about surpassing the master?

At the very least, Elder Wu was very fond of this kind of adaptable disciple.

This kind of disciple... is very fulfilling to teach.

When Qin Fang heard his master say this, he also breathed a sigh of relief... It seemed his judgment was quite accurate.

Without further ceremony, he poured out a Qi Blood Pill and swallowed it in one gulp.

Then, he assumed his stance.

As the saying goes, an expert’s touch is obvious from the start!

The moment Qin Fang settled into his stance, Elder Wu’s eyes narrowed slightly.

After a short wait, the medicinal power of the Qi Blood Pill erupted, and in that instant, Qin Fang took a long, deep breath.

Then... his body began to undulate slightly...

He had truly begun the Standing Pile!

THUMP, THUMP...

When the faint Skin Membrane Drum Sound, accompanying the slight undulations of his body, entered Elder Wu’s ears, his eyes instantly constricted.

Even though he was mentally prepared, the actual confirmation of it still brought a look of shock to his face.

’...He actually made it to the entry-level?’
