My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 36: Chapter 34: Lockdown

Amid the chaos, people saw Wuzi Zhang lying on the ground, drenched in blood and still twitching.

The gruesome sight made everyone turn pale. They gasped and scrambled back in a panic.

The expressions of the Lan Gui Fang guards inspecting the body changed, and the face of their leader turned ice-cold.

’Another murder in Lan Gui Fang? And this one right in front of me?’

’This is a blatant disregard for Lan Gui Fang!’

Rage flared in his eyes. Seeing the chaotic crowd, he bellowed, ”Everyone, calm down! Don’t panic!”

”Seal the exits! From this moment on, no one is allowed to leave!”

he barked at the guards behind him.

His reactions were lightning-fast.

’The killer is this brazen because they’re clearly trying to use the chaos to escape.’

The leader moved immediately to lock down the scene.

Qin Fang’s expression darkened. ’Clearly, an unexpected complication has arisen.’

But there was nothing to be done. He had no other choice.

If he didn’t eliminate these three targets, the moment Wang Long’s murder was discovered tomorrow, he would be the Iron Tiger Gang’s prime suspect.

Only by eliminating everyone who knew of his involvement could he buy himself time. Even if Wang Hu investigated, it would take him a while, giving Qin Fang some breathing room.

However, Lan Gui Fang was clearly no pushover. He watched as the lean man reacted swiftly, already trying to regain control of the situation.

Qin Fang knew he was in trouble.

Once Lan Gui Fang had the situation under control, his risk of exposure would skyrocket.

After all, he had snuck in. None of the courtesans knew him.

Coupled with the distinct air of a drifter about him, he was far too memorable.

Once things stabilized, he wouldn’t be able to hide at all.

’Hide in one of the rooms? Does he think this is a movie? Once they have the place locked down, they’ll have all the time in the world to search room by room!’

’Where could he possibly run?’

’And he was an unfamiliar face, not a client of Lan Gui Fang. If they started questioning him... his identity would be obvious.’

’The Lan Gui Fang guards would probably take him down themselves long before the Iron Tiger Gang even arrived!’

At this thought, Qin Fang watched the lean man’s shouts and the guards’ efforts begin to quiet the chaotic crowd.

He gritted his teeth. Without a moment’s hesitation, a dart appeared in his hand.

And in the next instant...

SHNK!

”Ahhh!!!”

A sudden scream erupted from the crowd. A man clutched his stomach, staggered a few steps, and collapsed.

He looked down to see a dart embedded in his stomach. His face went white as a sheet. ”Help me! Help!!!”

The crowd, which had just begun to calm down, immediately erupted into chaos once more.

Qin Fang seized the opportunity, shouting in a panicked voice, ”The killer is still here! Everyone, run! He’s going to kill again!”

As if to prove his words, THWIP! THWIP! Two more darts flew out of nowhere.

”Ahhh!!!”

”Ahh!!”

”Help! Help me!”

Two more unlucky patrons, struck by darts in the back and leg, collapsed to the ground.

This time, the Lan Gui Fang staff completely lost control of the situation.

People were happy to gawk at a dead body, as long as they felt safe.

But now the killer was still at large and seemed to be on a crazed rampage!

When rubbernecking became life-threatening... suddenly no one was brave enough to watch.

With a great surge, the crowd started running for the exits.

The Lan Gui Fang guards’ expressions shifted. The lean young leader roared in fury, ”You dare cause trouble in Lan Gui Fang? You’re courting death! Stop them! No one leaves this courtyard! If anyone tries to force their way out, take them down! I’ll take full responsibility! Today, I swear I’ll make sure that killer never leaves this place alive!”

Hearing his command, the guards immediately moved to block the panicked patrons trying to rush outside.

Seeing this, a look of grim determination flashed in Qin Fang’s eyes. He gritted his teeth and plunged his last dart deep into his own thigh.

Then he screamed in agony. ”Ahhh! He—He’s still here!”

Still screaming, he staggered toward the entrance.

Seeing the dart in his thigh and the dripping blood, the crowd almost subconsciously cleared a path for him, all while looking around in a panic, trying to spot the one throwing the darts.

He stumbled his way to the doorway.

A guard instinctively caught him and held him steady.

”Damn it!”

The guard leader was right there. Seeing the dart in Qin Fang’s right leg, his face darkened. He snapped his head around, hissing through gritted teeth, ”I don’t care who you are. You stirred up trouble in Lan Gui Fang, and for that, you’re a dead man!”

Just then, a chorus of wails drew near. The other three patrons hit by darts arrived at the door, supported by guards and moaning in pain.

”Get the wounded out first! The rest of you, seal this place! Send some men to the back gate, don’t let him escape through the rear!”

The victims were not lightly injured. The guard leader gritted his teeth and gave the decisive order.

Qin Fang continued to wail, but upon hearing this, he inwardly breathed a long sigh of relief. He deliberately kept his head down, his face contorted in pain, and clutched his leg, trying to make himself appear shorter.

”Get the wounded out of here!”

A guard gave a few quick instructions, and the wailing men, Qin Fang included, were helped out of the rear courtyard by the other guards.

”Damn it! Son of a bitch! What the hell did I ever do to deserve this?! Shit, oww...”

”Fucking bastard... Oww...”

Supported by a few guards, the wounded men were brought to the front courtyard. A large pavilion stood here, serving as the main facade of Lan Gui Fang.

People rushed out from the pavilion, hurrying to provide backup in the rear courtyard.

The men were ushered into the main hall of the pavilion. A guard addressed them, ”Gentlemen, I apologize. This was a failing on Lan Gui Fang’s part. Rest assured, we will take full responsibility for your injuries. We will find the man who did this, and we will make him pay!”

The guard’s own face was a mask of fury.

It had been a long time since Lan Gui Fang had experienced such chaos.

Even the last drifter uprising hadn’t managed to disturb Lan Gui Fang!

”Someone get over here and treat their wounds!”

he called out, turning his head.

Soon, someone arrived with a medicine kit and began dressing their wounds.

Qin Fang was among them, but he kept his head down the entire time, groaning and wailing... playing the part of a man seriously wounded.

The other wounded men were busy cursing the killer’s entire family line, completely unaware that the perpetrator was sitting right beside them.

Fortunately, Lan Gui Fang apparently had a professional Physician on hand. Soon, the darts were pulled out, Golden Sore Medicine was applied to the wounds, and they were crudely bandaged.

A guard watched over the process. Only when everyone had been treated did he let out a sigh of relief.

His thoughts were still on the situation in the rear courtyard. He said, ”Gentlemen, rest here for a moment. I’m going to go see if they’ve found the killer.”

A portly patron who’d been hit in the stomach said, seething with rage, ”Find him! You have to find him for me! I’m going to make him wish he was never born!”

”Yeah!!”

”Find him!”

Qin Fang, head still bowed, also let out a roar of anger.

The guard nodded, then turned and hurried back toward the rear courtyard.

Qin Fang kept his head down, letting his hair obscure his face. He watched the guard disappear into the distance and breathed a long, quiet sigh of relief.

He scanned his surroundings...

Many of the courtesans were still in the hall, gathered in a chattering flock, their attention fixed on the rear courtyard.

The few wounded men had been left in the hall, all of them clutching their injuries and grimacing in pain.

Qin Fang took a deep breath. He knew it was time to leave.

Clutching his leg, he stood up and began to limp away.

The portly man noticed him and blinked. ”Brother, where are you off to?”

Qin Fang paused, then cursed through gritted teeth, ”Where do you think? I’m going to take a leak! Shit, I’ve been holding it in forever, and now that I’ve been stabbed with a dart, I’m about to piss my pants!”

Hearing Qin Fang’s gruff cursing, the other three men were momentarily taken aback, but then found his crude complaint so amusing they couldn’t help but laugh.

The laughter pulled at their wounds, however, and they immediately broke out in pained grimaces and groans.

For a moment, the hall was filled with a lively mix of laughter and pain.

Qin Fang said no more, just kept limping toward the main entrance...
