Regression - Second Chance At Life

Chapter 258: Just Got Promoted

Isla sits stunned in her chair as she tries to process what she just heard.

She can’t believe the words that have just come out of Adam’s mouth.

Her heart is racing faster than when Adam had her pinned down on his bed and hammering her insides with his massive cock.

She stares at him wide-eyed as the word girlfriend rings in her mind over and over again.

Isla is too stunned to speak.

Julia, on the other hand, finds herself staring at Adam, not knowing what to think. She feels as if someone is grabbing her heart and squeezing it while twisting her stomach.

Her brows scrunch even tighter as her fear of being replaced seems to be coming into fruition.

She stares at Adam’s handsome face and that cocky smile of his.

Her right eye twitches in annoyance as she knows he is doing this on purpose, to make her jealous, and it’s working.

It’s not a secret to both of them that they desire each other, and the only reason they are not crossing the line is that the one to cross is the first to lose, and that means giving up on the thing they are fighting for.

Adam will lose his illusion of control that he so badly wants, especially when it comes to Julia. Sure, he can dominate her in bed, but they both will know that it was he who folded first, which is something Julia will always hold over him.

And if Julia folds first, she will lose everything she has worked for: this mansion, Jack’s wealth, and most importantly, her freedom. She knows that if she folds first, she will belong to Adam, for him to do with her as he wishes. The most twisted part of it all is that she knows she will willingly go along with his orders.

So, none of them can afford to lose.

Julia understands that this is another one of Adam’s attempts to throw her off, but when she looks at Isla, she can’t help but be concerned as to whether Adam is being serious or not.

If he is being serious and is now entering into a relationship with Isla, Julia can’t help but feel conflicted about it.

If Adam is really being serious, that means he will back off from teasing her and making her feel miserable about herself, but she is also not delusional enough to think this is a good thing.

She knows she has been conditioned to always think of Adam and be obsessed with him. Seeing him with some other girl, knowing that she has lost the chance to ever be with him, will continue to eat her up from the inside until the day she dies.

Julia doesn’t want to be a self-loathing woman who blames herself for not giving in to her desire and submitting to Adam.

Adam smirks, seeing Julia’s face shift every second with different expressions. He can only wonder what she is thinking, but he knows he has created chaos inside her head, and he is happy with the result.

He then turns to look at Isla again, who looks stunned. He expected this as well.

He and Isla never discussed being official when it comes to their relationship. He was very clear with her about what he wants, so it’s logical for Isla to assume that she will be just another lover in Adam’s life.

His declaring her as his girlfriend is never something Isla saw coming.

Adam smiles at her, making Isla snap out of her stunned state. She opens her mouth to say something, but words don’t come out, especially with Julia in the room.

She needs to be all alone with Adam to express how she is feeling right now.

Adam knows what he is doing. He didn’t just call Isla his girlfriend because he likes her more than his other girls, no, it’s a matter of convenience and control. He is being a manipulative asshole.

What’s a better way to make a girl who is crazy for you like you even more in a harem? Increase her status from just being lovers to girlfriend.

This will make Isla feel more important, which will translate to her being more loving, more loyal, and far easier to control. After all, this will make her feel special, and she will do anything to continue being special.

Instead of saying anything else, Adam leans in and kisses Isla right in front of Julia, and he isn’t being reserved with his kiss.

He goes all out with his tongue, engaging with Isla in a deep, passionate kiss.

Isla at first felt lost, but as she feels Adam’s kiss, happiness washes over her. She feels so happy that she even starts tearing up as she kisses Adam back.

Adam couldn’t have given her a better present than this.

While Adam and Isla are busy engaging in a deep, passionate kiss, Julia is staring at them with eyes filled with jealousy and envy. Looking at the way Adam is kissing Isla reminds Julia of the time she kissed Adam.

It was nothing like this kiss between Adam and Isla; no, it was filthy, sloppy, and messy, while Adam was completely dominating her with it.

The contrast between the two kisses makes Julia realize that she has overlooked one very crucial thing. Adam might be obsessed with her, but he will never love her like his own woman.

She will always be an object of carnal pleasure for him, and Julia doesn’t know how to feel about it. On one hand, the idea of being just an object of sex for Adam is extremely arousing, but on the other hand, Julia wonders if she will be okay with never feeling Adam’s love.

Julia clenches her jaw and tightens her fist as she continues to watch Adam and Isla make out, and they seem to be getting more handsy with each other by the second.

Julia doesn’t want to sit here and watch them start fucking, even though the idea is absurd, knowing Adam, she knows he will do anything to make her feel jealous, even going as far as fucking his new girlfriend right before her eyes.

Just as she is about to open her mouth and interrupt the couple, Xu Lin walks in with breakfast.

”Master~ your breakfast is ready,” Xu Lin says while watching Adam make out with Isla.

Unlike Julia, Xu Lin feels no jealousy for Isla; she just envies her for being able to be called Adam’s girlfriend, but Xu Lin for once has never imagined herself in such a position because she is happy with where she is and her purpose, and that is to serve Adam.

”Looks like breakfast is here,” Adam pulls away from Isla and gives Xu Lin a pleasant smile, making Xu Lin smile in return. Just being around Adam brightens her day, and seeing him smile makes her smile.

If Adam is happy with Isla being his girlfriend, then Xu Lin is also okay with it. If Adam’s happy, she’s happy.

Xu Lin starts serving them their breakfast while Isla watches her with curious eyes. Xu Lin is definitely the type of girl Isla likes to romantically pursue, someone soft and cute-looking.

But from what she sees, Xu Lin already seems to be head over heels for Adam. Isla does not doubt that Adam might have already had his way with Xu Lin, seeing how close she likes to stand next to Adam while constantly giving him her lovey-dovey eyes, but Isla is not jealous.

She chose this life ever after Adam’s warning, and Adam rewarded her by making her his girlfriend; she doesn’t want to mess it up with Adam by being a jealous person.

Plus, being bi, she wonders if she could get Xu Lin in bed along with Adam, because that would be a fun night for her.

Xu Lin returns to the kitchen after serving them breakfast while Adam and Isla eat. Isla is pleasantly surprised by how good Xu Lin’s food tastes. She recalls how Adam told her she would love her cooking, and it looks like he didn’t lie about it.

Isla feels butterflies in her stomach as she thinks about her situation. Last night she had the most amazing sex possible, today morning, they went at it again, then she gets promoted from just a lover to Adam’s girlfriend, and now she gets to eat delicious food.

This day couldn’t have started any better for Isla, and since she is very happy, her actions reflect her emotions; she acts all lovey-dovey towards Adam, feeding him off her plate, wiping his mouth whenever there are bits of food on it, and other loving gestures.

Julia feels her heart seethe with jealousy, seeing how Isla is behaving with Adam. She wants nothing more than to kick Isla out of the house, but of course, she won’t do it because Adam’s here, and whenever Adam’s present, Julia loses all her authority.

It’s a subconscious power that Adam has over her, which she cannot fight, no matter how hard she tries.

Feeling left out, Julia decides to do something to get Adam’s attention.

Julia drops her fork down on the ground, which gets both Adam’s and Isla’s attention, but Isla quickly gets over it and thinks nothing of it.

But Adam doesn’t think so.

The timing is too convenient.

And just like he expected, Julia is up to something. He can see it in her eyes; she wants his attention.

Julia stands up, and she has Adam’s attention, as he is curious as to what she is trying to do.
