The Genius Evolution Store

”Congratulations. I guess there’s a reason you’re able to stand so far. All of you have rather excellent qualities as evolution masters.” The chief examiner looked at the five participants.

However, the participants couldn’t help but glance at Auric, as they were curious about the previous situation, considering that his examiner was screaming at him.

Auric just ignored them. He came here to get his gold-badge, not to make enemies. The examiner was simply trying to stop him from doing something reckless in his perspective, not from Auric’s.

”All right. Let’s move out to the room on the side! I believe that the people on the second site have finished, so the patients who need your help should have reached the last site already.”

Auric thought the arrangement was quite clever. They finished the second and third stages first, so when the second batch of participants came to the second stage, the first batch would finish the fourth stage.

Now that they had finished the four stages, the volunteers who were supposed to be at the second stage would move to the fifth stage.

This way, they could continue the test without wasting any time.

As soon as Auric and the others reached the fifth stage, the volunteers had just arrived as they were trying to find their seats.

The chief examiner stepped forward. ”Welcome. Thank you for volunteering for this exam. I am Chief Examiner Roland. You don’t have to worry because we’re here with excellent evolution masters.

”We’ll definitely get your avatar evolved to the mature form.

”Right now, there are five excellent evolution masters who are going to start treating you. They’re excellent evolution masters, so I want you to focus on evolving your avatars.”

The chief examiner turned around, looking at the five participants. ”Very well. Let’s begin. Five of you, please go to your respective evolution chambers. Examiners, please accompany your juniors. We’ll now begin the assessment. Anyone who is called, please enter the evolution chamber. First, Mr. Horge! Please enter the first chamber.”

One by one, the volunteers were called to the evolution chamber.

Auric was assigned a man in his mid-thirties. The man was muscular, but his physical condition couldn’t be described as fit.

Auric could see two other elements sticking to him.

”Hello, sir.” Auric nodded politely. ”I hope you don’t mind that I’m wearing a mask. I don’t want to disturb you with my face.”

”Not at all.”

”Thanks. It looks like your element is light, but have you recently gone to ruins?”

”!!!” The volunteer wasn’t the only one who looked confused. Even Examiner Jason raised his eyebrows, not knowing how Auric could determine it without even asking the volunteer to show his energy.

Examiner Jason couldn’t help but remember when the chief examiner told him about Auric’s sensitivity.

On the other hand, the volunteer couldn’t help but gasp. ”How did you know?”

”Your body’s condition is not exactly great because of it. The ruins should have wind and lightning elements. It looks like you’ve been staying there longer than you were supposed to.”

The volunteer was surprised, but he soon hung his head low. ”So, does that mean I won’t be able to evolve?”

”You can evolve. We just have to remove the problematic energy from your body. How about this?” Auric extended his hand. ”We should shake hands. By the time we are done, you might find that all the uncomfortable sensations plaguing you right now have disappeared. Would you like to play this little game with me?”

The volunteer chuckled, playing along with Auric’s words. ”Sure. We can do that.”

He shook Auric’s hand.

Auric immediately channeled his energy, trying to remove the excess energy from his body. Meanwhile, Auric asked, ”So, why did you go to this place, even though you are about to evolve?”

”It can’t be helped.” The volunteer shook his head. ”I hadn’t taken any jobs recently after my business went bad. I got an offer to be a mercenary, so I closed my business and accepted it. You know? I need to provide for my family.

”However, something unexpected happened. I was betrayed by the one who offered me a job. After entering the ruins, he left me behind. He must have wanted me to die so that he could get whatever I had left.

”Fortunately, I was rescued. I couldn’t open the barrier because of my element, but after staying for almost a month, someone opened it from the other side, so I took advantage of it to escape.

”And before that guy could do anything with whatever I had left, I used it to buy myself to increase my element to its limit. And here I am, trying to evolve without having anything.”

”I see.” Auric nodded in understanding. ”I may not be able to understand how you feel, but I, for sure, know that your loved ones are proud of you right now, which is why you get your body fixed.”

”Yes. May I ask you to do that?”

”Of course. In fact, do you still feel any discomfort after this?”

”Huh?” The volunteer froze and checked his body, realizing that the uncomfortable feeling was gone. ”This...”

”And see? We’re done shaking hands.” Auric pointed at his hand.

The volunteer looked surprised. ”Wow. I mean, wow. This is the first time I’ve ever been treated with a handshake.”

”That’s why the world is interesting. There will always be a first time for something.” Auric winked playfully. ”All right. Your current energy is 104%. It’s not much, so I’ll just remove it straight away. You can evolve without my help after that.”

”Really? Just like that?” The volunteer didn’t doubt Auric anymore when he miraculously treated him with a handshake.

”Yep. Please turn around for me. I’m going to place my hand on your back for a bit.”

”Understood.” The volunteer followed Auric’s instructions.

Normally, people would have to ask him to proceed with the evolution while using their element to burn off the extra 4%.

However, because Auric could read his energy accurately, he could actually split the energy into two, isolating only the excess 4% from the remaining 100%.

After that, Auric used his energy to flush out the excess. ”Okay, we’re done.”

”We’re done? Just like that?”

”Just like that. If you don’t believe me, you can check your status on your bracelet.”

The volunteer hurriedly confirmed it. As Auric had claimed, his treatment was done. His element had gone down to 100%.

This meant he could evolve at any time.

”In that case, I will evolve right away.” The man hurriedly closed his eyes and summoned his avatar. With the perfect amount of energy, there was no need for Auric to do anything else.

On the other hand, Examiner Jason remained silent. There were a lot of things for him to say, considering Auric hadn’t followed any of the protocols.

However, it was true that Auric succeeded with the treatment. The volunteer could evolve safely, despite Auric using all unorthodox methods and procedures.

Yet, the volunteer looked relaxed and seemed to love Auric’s approach.

The chief examiner shook his head helplessly.

’Where did Chief Lucas find this monster?’ the chief examiner thought. ’By shaking hands, he will be able to channel his energy. He is using the Extreme Bridge Management as well as Magical Control to push away the bad energy from his body. Without his level of control, this would be impossible.

’Even I can’t achieve it, not because I don’t have enough confidence in my control, but because I can’t accurately sense the energy in his body.

’Then, he actually used the Extreme Bridge Management to accurately eliminate the excess energy from his body before the evolution. How did he even know where the energy was located? The main energy might be at the heart, but some energy could accumulate in other body parts...

’Does he have an X-ray or something? Even X-rays can’t do that. How abnormal his magical sensitivity is...’

”I did it!” The volunteer stood up while pumping his fists. He looked at Auric and then hugged him. ”Thank you so much. Thank you so much.”

”No problem. Now, you should go back to your family and have dinner or something.”

”Yeah.” The volunteer nodded furiously. ”Hey. I know a cosmetic surgeon. He should be one of the best in the country. If you want...”

The volunteer pointed to his face, gesturing that if he wanted to fix his face, he should go to him.

Auric chuckled. ”No problem, no problem. It’s fine for me.”

”I see. Thank you so much. Again.”

”No problem, no problem. This way.” Auric guided him outside.

Seeing this, Examiner Jason couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. Normally, the patient wouldn’t have the desire to stay in the evolution chamber longer than they needed to be. They might not admit it directly, but they didn’t exactly like evolution masters since most of them were arrogant.

Yet, he got the feeling that the volunteer this time genuinely liked Auric to the point where Auric had to subtly ’kick’ him out of the room.

Obviously, the examiners weren’t the only ones who had witnessed it. The moment they saw how excited the first volunteer was and the fact that Auric did it so fast, they realized Auric’s skill was impeccable. They could feel assured if Auric was the one handling them.

The chief examiner just sighed. ’I guess Chief Lucas predicted this. He will shut us up with his skill, huh? Well, you really got us this time, Chief Lucas.

’Auric is indeed one of the most talented, if not the most talented person I have ever seen. People often overestimate their talent or are overreliant on their talent, but the young man before me developed his talent further and even found ways to utilize that talent. He will only become even more monstrous in the future.’

The chief examiner looked at Examiner Jason and thought, ’I hope that this guy doesn’t cause any more problems. He has holed up in his lab for eight months.’

The chief examiner could only sigh, but he had no doubt that Auric could receive his three-star badge.

As the chief examiner predicted, the test proceeded smoothly. Auric’s unique style made evolution more fun and reassuring. The patients could actually wear big smiles instead of looking nervous.

Auric treated them quickly, so the process never became boring.

In the end, Auric treated the second volunteer who had an element variant. Unfortunately, Auric didn’t have any interest in it yet, and he didn’t want to ask him to use the battle technique to get a copy of his element because he was worried about Examiner Jason. The latter might end up getting angry again.

Auric moved on to the third volunteer with an extreme element and treated her without any problems.

With this, Auric finished his test and officially became a third-star gold-grade evolution master.

Auric saw the chief examiner smiling at him while waving his hand, gesturing for him to come out and receive his badge.

But before he came out, Examiner Jason stopped.

”Ehm... Is there anything else?” Auric asked carefully.

Examiner Jason scratched the back of his head before asking, ”Do you happen to have some time after this? Would you mind taking a look at my research?”

Auric’s eyebrows twitched as he raised his middle finger... or so what happened in his mind.

In reality, Auric simply said, ”I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can help you.”
