The Genius Evolution Store

”Edict.”

Auric flicked his finger, sending out his energy.

”!!!” Trevor noticed the sudden eruption of energy around his body. He looked down and saw a few parts shining.

It turned out Auric had been using his techniques all this time.

”Armored Dozer!” Trevor shouted.

Ice shards gathered around his body, forming full-body armor.

”It’s useless...” Auric waved his hand down as though he had just finished writing down everything.

His magical energy flew toward Trevor. It wasn’t an attack. It wasn’t supposed to hurt Trevor.

However, this energy was the active part of his Edict, which meant it triggered the passive energy that he had left behind on Trevor’s body.

The moment it reached Trevor, the energy combined the passive energy and turned into one powerful battle technique.

”Aaaarrggghhh!” Trevor screamed in pain, his eyes rolled back.

A powerful electric shock burst from within his body. In addition, there was a wind barrier that was pushing the lightning back, resulting in a vicious cycle that continuously electrocuted the target.

The ice armor shattered in an instant. What Auric had left behind was not just one or two strokes. He was making more than twenty strokes, which made it similar to the power that he had used to heal Eric.

The power was not something that Trevor could withstand.

However, that wasn’t the end of the fight.

Auric used the Plant General, summoning roots to restrain Trevor’s limbs and cover his mouth.

However, the Plant General had been imbued with the earth element. Even when he was being captured, the grip of the Plant General and the hardness granted by the earth element caused Trevor to feel as though he was being crushed.

Then, Auric leaped toward Trevor and punched him in the face several times, each blow containing either lightning or wind elements.

The students couldn’t help but gasp.

The teacher hurriedly rushed to the arena and grabbed Auric’s wrists.

”Stop! Are you trying to kill him?!” The teacher asked.

”Eh?” Auric looked dumbfounded as if he hadn’t done anything wrong. ”Kill him?”

”Just look at him. He’s already knocked out!”

Auric looked at him, acting as if he were surprised. ”What?”

Trevor’s face was already black and blue because of the last few minutes of beating. Besides, his body was a mess. Even with an excellent healer, he would be hospitalized for quite some time.

His last Edict had struck Trevor’s body directly, after all. That was why Trevor suffered so many injuries.

Auric innocently turned pale and stuttered, ”Teacher... I don’t know. Other students and even Trevor himself have been telling me how strong the people in the capital city are. I’m just a country bumpkin, so I’ve done my best to fight. I was just doing my best to secure my victory. Besides, I’m just a freshman. I expected that someone from this university who is also ranked seventh in his grade would be much stronger than this.”

Auric acted as if he had been wronged.

The teacher was speechless. It was true that there were a lot of rumors about it. Normally, Trevor would have won.

However, they couldn’t imagine that the situation would become like this. Auric, despite being a freshman, possessed an overwhelming power.

It was to such an extent that he dominated the entire battle. In fact, it didn’t look like Auric suffered any severe injury.

”...” The teacher sighed. ”Go back, go back. The fight is over. You are the winner!”

”The referee has declared the winner. Auric Elfe is the winner!” K2 hurriedly declared. She was in shock as well.

On the one hand, Auric acted so innocent that, coupled with all the beliefs on campus, she didn’t think Auric was lying. On the other hand, a part of her was feeling that there was something behind it.

Auric immediately walked away as if nothing had happened.

There was a lot of confusion. At the same time, cheers erupted throughout the arena. It was truly amazing to have a freshman who could defeat someone like Trevor.

Obviously, there were a lot of things that needed to be said in this match.

K2 immediately showed the replay. ”Let us take a look at the previous match. Trevor’s strength was by no means weak. He did many things perfectly, such as using icicles to force Auric to move in his direction.

”Or his burst speed was exceptionally good. I’m sure that all of you can understand how quick his burst was.

”On the other hand...” K2 looked at the replay for Auric. ”Auric had managed to avoid the icicles perfectly, as though he could overwhelm his opponent.

”However, the most terrifying thing about Auric is his vision. Auric’s ability did look like it took a long time to activate. As such, his fighting style overwhelmed his opponent, buying time for his ability to activate.

”At the same time, he was able to skillfully use his element. In fact, even though Trevor was winning in terms of burst speed, Auric used his ability in rapid succession. There didn’t seem to be any delay in his techniques.

”He took advantage of that vision to utilize the rapid fire, creating an advantageous position for himself to unleash that powerful attack that took time to prepare.

”Still, the most shocking part was that battle technique. He seemed to leave behind a battle technique on Trevor’s body. Then, he used another battle technique to trigger it.

”As a result, Trevor’s ice armor couldn’t even protect him. That was it. Auric then took him down, ensuring himself the victory.

”To possess a vision and such power at that age, I’m officially a fan!” K2 waved her hands as if she were idolizing Auric.

After understanding the entire situation, the students were dumbfounded. They never thought that Auric possessed so much at that age.

”Kyaaaa!”

”I’m not a fan!”

”He’s much better than Trevor!”

Katarina crossed her arms. There was one thing that K2 had missed.

How did Auric possess so much power?

While hearing the cheers, Katarina muttered, ”So, that’s the power of fusion.”

”The one you are trying to master?” Milinda looked at her.

”Yeah.” Katarina nodded. ”He used it much faster. Even if I could do it, it would still take me around ten seconds to achieve it. Yet, he managed to use it in three seconds.

”In addition, his battle technique complemented his technique a lot. His fighting style was so profound, yet it looked so simple that not many people could realize it.

Milinda nodded in understanding.

”I don’t want to believe it when you say that Auric’s strength is higher than yours, but it looks like it’s true.”

Milinda chuckled. ”Of course.”

Milinda had intended to become Auric’s bodyguard, or at least she intended to serve in that role. Before she knew it, Auric had already surpassed her. In the end, she was comfortable enough to become Auric’s assistant.

Milinda pumped her fists and muttered, ”By the way, I think I’ve won about 4,900 points.”

”...” Katarina suddenly froze. She hadn’t believed in Auric earlier, so she’d only placed 100 points. As a result, she only won 700 points in this match.

On the other hand, Milinda dumped everything she had for this match, allowing her to get so many points.

If Katarina believed in him and placed a lot more points on him, she would have earned over ten thousand points from this match alone.

She couldn’t help but shake her head, realizing that she had lost so much.

However, there were three people who won even more points than Milinda.

The first one was Auric. It was only natural for him to bet on himself. After all, he was confident of winning.

The second was obviously Ellia. She calmly crossed her arms, knowing that she had won a lot of points. At the very least, she could exchange it for a few things before going back to Grand Magica College.

To her surprise, she suddenly heard Vera, who was sitting next to her, mutter, ”Yes. I’ve won 42,000 points.”

”...” Ellia was stunned. If she got that much, it meant she had bet 7,000 points for Auric. It was basically everything Vera had.

”You gambled everything?” Ellia widened her eyes.

”It’s all or nothing.” Vera smirked. ”Thanks to you, I’ve won so many points. No, wait. It’s not thanks to you. It’s thanks to Auric. I’m not going to thank you.”

”Too late. You’re welcome.” Ellia harrumphed.

Vera covered her ears. ”I don’t hear it.”

Ellia shrugged.

”Still, Auric actually possessed that kind of powerful ability? I’m not sure many noticed it, but his skill didn’t just apply elemental fusion. Something else was going on.” Vera narrowed her eyes.

”I know nothing about it.” Ellia shook her head. She hadn’t talked to Auric a lot. However, she had seen that technique once when he used it to heal Eric.

Apparently, it was so powerful that Eric could be discharged in three days from the supposed 30 days.

”Hmmmm...” Vera looked like she wasn’t convinced. ”Still, during the last exchange, Auric engaged in close combat even though he wasn’t particularly good at it. During that time, he secretly placed his power during those few hits. Those hits weren’t powerful, so Trevor definitely didn’t notice them.”

”No. He might not be great at close combat, but he was good at hiding his weaknesses.”

”!!!” Vera raised her eyebrows. ”Do you mean... he deliberately exposed that weakness?”

”Yeah. I don’t know what was going on, but Auric wasn’t supposed to beat him that hard. Eric might have suffered because of it, but in a way, he tried to respect his wish. That was why Auric just wanted to defeat him, not crush him. He wanted to let Eric be the one to do the crushing.”

”Ah!” Vera crossed her arms, contemplating. ”So, something else happened?”

”Most likely.” Ellia was sure about it. After all, she understood what Auric was thinking. Besides, she also understood Auric’s principle.

In other words, the way Auric fought earlier might be fulfilling his principle.

’Equivalent exchange. Did Trevor say something like, ’Beating him up until his mother can’t recognize him anymore?’ or something along those lines?’ Ellia asked inwardly.

”So, that’s how it is.” Vera nodded in understanding. ”Still, this kind of power... I don’t think he has surpassed me yet. Wait...”

Vera looked at Ellia in shock. ”You’re not going to say Auric hasn’t gone all out yet, are you?”

Ellia just scoffed.

Vera felt a chill down her spine. She had been competing with Ellia since she was young. But to her surprise, there was actually a monster like Auric, who might surpass them soon.

The biggest problem was the fact that Auric was originally an evolution master. Evolution masters were normally weaker than other fighters. After all, they spent most of their time studying.

Yet, Auric proved them wrong by being able to handle both paths simultaneously.

”Now that I notice it... how about the last few punches? If I’m not mistaken about him, he should have known that his opponent was no longer able to continue, given that vision of his.”

Ellia paused for a moment before saying, ”That was definitely personal.”
