The Genius Evolution Store

Auric looked down, staring at his plate. He finally realized how the Lightning Emperor felt when Simon died.

He would feel even worse if it were his family member.

Just thinking about someone close to him dying was giving him so much pain. It was no wonder that the Lightning Emperor reacted that way.

Was he too emotional? Was it normal to feel this way?

Auric suddenly raised his head, looking at Milinda and Katarina, who were still worrying about him. ”Sorry for making you guys worried.”

Auric gave them the best smile he could offer.

”I know that I may have reacted excessively. I’d like to apologize for that. Also, the store will be reopened tomorrow. You guys can return for now. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”

”Do you want me to help you in this matter?” Katarina asked. ”If it’s a mission, I should be able to issue punishment if they have made a mistake.”

”No. It’s fine. You can maintain your integrity as the vice president of the student council. I have troubled you enough.” Auric shook his head. ”Besides, I’m fine now. I’ll just do what I have done all this time.”

Milinda and Katarina looked at each other.

In the end, they returned to the hospital to visit Eric, but Eric was being checked by the doctor.

The doctor told everyone that his recovery speed was amazing. However, he required a full rest.

That was why no visitors were allowed.

Only Ellia knew that Eric chose to do this so that Auric didn’t do anything excessive.

In the end, Auric couldn’t do anything other than return to his store. Still, he didn’t open the store. He just used it to distract himself while avoiding making the people from the Relesha family worry.

Auric adjusted his plan in the academy. After using his ”Edict,” Auric understood the burden it placed on his mind.

That was why he had to master this technique as quickly as possible for his plan.

In the end, he returned to the Relesha family, looking as if everything was normal. He ate with the others and retired to his room.

However, he opened his window as soon as he entered, simply trying to feel the wind.

Auric said, ’Thanks for taking care of me, Lindwurm.’

”Not at all. Everyone experiences a lot of things in their youth. All this experience is what allows you to grow up.” Lindwurm smiled. ”I will accompany you for as long as possible.”

’As long as possible?’ Auric smiled. As he expected, Lindwurm wasn’t going to stay with him permanently.

”You know the answer.” Lindwurm chuckled. ”Besides, you are going to feed me a lot after this. Because I showed you that technique, I’ve been penalized. Right now, my energy will only last for two more days.”

Auric was startled. He had fed Lindwurm so much that he believed Lindwurm should have about 30 million credits’ worth of materials in his belly. He normally used a million credits per day. So, it was quite surprising that he lost four weeks of food in an instant.

However, the Major Healing was extremely useful. In a way, it could be a life-saving skill.

So, he didn’t feel too worried about losing that much since he had also gained a lot from it.

Auric smiled, saying, ’Don’t worry. I’m going to buy you a lot of food tomorrow. We are going to wake up early.’

”I’m looking forward to the feast.” Lindwurm grinned.

Auric just chuckled. Before he spoke again to Lindwurm, he suddenly heard a voice coming from below.

”Hey, kid. Do you have something on your mind?”

”!!!” Auric looked down and saw Mathias, who suddenly leaped to the window and took his seat on the window frame.

”Hop!” Mathias casually sat down and said, ”Looks like you’re worried about something.”

Auric was startled. ”Did you leave the mansion just to say that?”

”I noticed your expression. You might think you’re fooling people by acting like nothing has happened, but a wise man can see one thing but know two. I am a dumb person, so I know three things.” Mathias chuckled.

Auric smiled wryly. He didn’t know whether to share what had happened to Mathias.

Mathias would probably support him, but he wanted to settle this problem himself.

Auric thought for a moment before changing the nature of his question. ”I wonder, if you were going to do something reckless, what would you think about it? Have you ever thought you will regret it?”

”As I said, I’m a dumb person, kid.” Mathias smiled and patted Auric’s head. ”As an idiot, I act first and regret later. For me, I’d rather regret what I’ve done than what I haven’t done.”

These words somehow stuck in Auric’s heart.

”We can think, ’That is going to happen, that is going to happen.’ However, that’s only a possibility until you make a decision. So, I think it’s better to just think about how to handle the consequences of my actions rather than thinking about those numerous possibilities.

”If we keep thinking about countless possibilities, I might get scared of sending a satellite into the sky because aliens might pick up my email.

”However, the pain of regretting something because I didn’t act is much worse.”

Auric looked down.

In a way, he couldn’t help but agree with him. There were times that it was better to be dumb. Sometimes people turn into idiots because of love, but in a way, it might allow them to experience greater happiness.

Sometimes, there was bad luck that would turn that happiness into sorrow, but that was just a consequence of their actions.

If they didn’t do anything, they wouldn’t have experienced that moment of happiness.

Whether it was worth it or not, each individual would have a different opinion.

Mathias’ words had allowed him to make a decision.

”Thank you.” Auric smiled.

”It looks like you’ve sorted your thoughts.” Mathias smiled and patted his head again. ”Get some sleep. When you’re young, it’s best to make as many mistakes as possible. That way, you know what you shouldn’t do when you’re old. Solve your mistakes and grow. That’s my advice.”

”Yes.” Auric nodded.

Mathias jumped off before disappearing.

Auric couldn’t help but shake his head. This family truly cared about its members.

In the end, Auric closed the windows and went back to sleep.

The next day, Auric headed out to the material store. He wanted to buy as many materials as possible.

Of course, he had to make sure that all of them were undamaged. This was the only way for him to feed Lindwurm.

In the end, he spent ten million credits to feed Lindwurm. It was more than enough for Lindwurm while he was staying in the capital city.

Still, he ordered more and planned to pick it up next week.

Once he returned to the Night and Day store, he had completely returned to normal.

Milinda and Katarina were happy about it.

Whether it was fortunate or unfortunate, only two customers visited his store that day.

Auric had gotten his picture taken with them, so they would probably share it to their circles, which would bring more customers next week.

He didn’t forget to visit Eric in the hospital, but Eric actually accepted no visitors.

Auric thought he was embarrassed, but Eric simply didn’t want to use his current condition to make Auric pity him.

In the end, Auric returned and prepared for his plan the next day.

Finally, Ellia’s report came.

”This is what I’ve found out.” Ellia showed the report to him.

Auric frowned, looking at the report. She truly got everything from the name to the reason behind this incident.

Auric couldn’t believe that the situation originated from such a petty reason.

”This... Are people in the capital city like this?”

”Of course, not everyone.” Ellia shook her head. ”However, there are a lot of people who look down on people from the countryside.”

Auric’s expression turned solemn.

”What are you going to do?” Ellia asked, looking a bit worried.

”You probably already know what I’m going to do.” Auric’s expression turned solemn.

”You might get into trouble if you do that.”

”All this time, I have been avoiding trouble. I dislike trouble. But for some reason, trouble keeps coming after me. I wonder if it is because I’m too soft or because I look like a pushover that people start thinking I’m afraid of trouble.”

Ellia could see the anger in his eyes. At this point, there was nothing she could do to stop him.

Ellia could only sigh. This was inevitable the moment she gave him that report. Even she couldn’t help but think this anger was a good thing.

All this time, Auric had been a bit too passive. He didn’t mind people mocking him, because it didn’t really affect him in a way he thought about himself.

This time, Auric was simply fed up.

Auric stormed into the second-year classroom. He had received the location of the room from Ellia.

Even though he was angry, he was still careful with his manner. In the end, habit couldn’t easily be broken.

Auric calmly walked to the center of the class.

The sophomores were startled.

”What is this?”

”Who?”

”A new guy? I’ve never seen this guy before. If he is that handsome, I should have followed him on social media.”

”Don’t tell me, he’s an exchange student...?”

They were confused as to why Auric had come here.

In fact, Arina was in this classroom, so Auric saw her shocked face.

It looked like Ellia didn’t involve Arina in the investigation.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t change what he was going to do here.

Auric scanned the room and noticed the man who planned everything, Trevor. He looked muscular even though his main weapon was elemental manipulation.

According to Ellia’s report, this person was good at short and long-range combat styles. His close combat originated from that muscular build, allowing him to have a versatile fighting style.

This allowed him to rank seventh in the entire grade. He was strong, but Auric still had his own confidence in taking him down.

”I’m sorry for disturbing all of you.” Auric politely apologized. ”I’m looking for a man called Tremble... I mean, Tremor... Wait. What’s his name again?”

The students were startled by the sudden provocation.

”You fucker!” Trevor stood up, glaring at Auric.

”Ah, there he is. Senior Anger... Eh, I mean, Senior Trevor. I finally got the right name this time, I think?” Auric chuckled.

Trevor gritted his teeth. He clenched his fists as though he were ready to fight Auric.

”Well, I wonder if this senior has any time to spare. Your junior is trying to ask for some guidance.” Auric smiled.

”If you know you’re just a junior, you should know your place. Where is your manners?”

”That is a good question.” Auric acted as if he were pondering it. ”I don’t think I need manners to talk to you, Trash, I mean Trevor. Your name is truly wonderful.”

”You—” Trevor’s anger was about to erupt, but Auric simply asked, ”Well, if you’re scared of a junior, just say so. Maybe you should try farming in the countryside, it will help you improve your health.”

Trevor’s energy erupted from his body. His eyes were filled with anger. ”Fine. Since you’re courting death, I’ll beat you until your mother can’t recognize you anymore!”

”You’ve just said the thing you shouldn’t have said.” Auric smiled.
