”Don’t you think your mother is beautiful? I bet my men have already captured her. If you don’t stop all this right at this instant, I don’t know what my men will do to your mother.”

Auric furrowed his brow. Katarina shouted, ”You are an incorrigible asshole.”

Even Katarina couldn’t contain herself anymore. Milinda slightly clenched her hand, creating a perfect hole to form a spear.

”Don’t move! If they hear nothing from me, there’s no telling what will happen to your mother.”

”I don’t believe you.” Auric’s expression turned solemn.

”!!!” Katarina and Milinda were startled by Auric’s words.

”You don’t believe me? Well, if you think this is an empty threat...” Trevor grinned and called the number.

It only took a few seconds for the call to connect.

With a big smile on his face, Trevor asked out loud, ”Matthew! Have you captured that bitch?!”

”Congratulations. Death has sent you an invitation,” a female voice replied.

Katarina and Trevor didn’t recognize this voice, but Auric and Milinda knew who it was.

”Teacher.” Auric smiled in relief.

The moment he said that one word, Katarina realized that Auric had prepared for everything. Trevor, on the other hand, panicked because this wasn’t how it was supposed to be.

A few days ago.

Auric looked at his phone after sending a message to Maya.

[Teacher, I might end up doing something a bit reckless. And that might result in a change that I can’t predict. Still, the immediate danger is always there. I’m afraid that I would have to ask you to protect my mother.]

Auric knew that he was bound to get into trouble. There might be some desperate moves, especially after what happened with Simon.

That was why he set up a few layers of defense. At the very least, the Relesha family would be protecting him in the capital city. All he had to do was ensure his mother’s safety.

The problem was his father. However, even he didn’t know where his father went. So, the enemy might not know about his whereabouts as well.

Besides, his father could leave behind someone like Lindwurm and create that kind of magic item, not to mention the battle technique called God Mode.

It was clear that his father was strong. He didn’t know how strong he was, but he was definitely not so weak that he would be troubled by this kind of problem.

In other words, he just had to focus on his mother.

That was why he knew that his teacher wouldn’t disappoint him. Even if she couldn’t defeat her opponent, she could run away with his mother.

Auric felt relieved that his teacher had protected his mother.

To his surprise, his mother’s voice suddenly came through.

”My dear. Your teacher and the government are so reliable. Don’t worry about your mom here.”

”I got it.” Auric smiled.

”No, this wasn’t supposed to happen!” Trevor’s face turned pale. He took a step back and his body was shaking.

The moment they realized that the situation had been under control, Milinda immediately dashed to Trevor.

”NO!” Trevor shouted, trying to make a run for it.

However, Katarina immediately created a few bullets and shot him in the thighs, stopping him from running.

”Aaaahhhh!” Trevor screamed as he fell.

But before he fell to his knees, Milinda used ’Imagine’ to create a washboard so that when he fell to his knees, his shins would end up hitting the sharp part of the washboard.

That wasn’t the extent of what she did.

She had formed her spear and hit the back of his head, flinging his upper body forward so that it would hit the ground.

At this time, Milinda formed two items. The first was a safe deposit box on top of him. This box would be at his calves, which would apply its weight down, pressing his shins harder to the washboard.

At the same time, a series of lego pieces appeared on the floor where his face was falling.

”Aaahhhhh!” Trevor screamed in so much pain.

Milinda grabbed a fistful of his hair and pulled his head up before slamming it down. ”How dare you attack someone’s family?”

Katarina felt a chill down her spine. This was the first time she had seen Milinda so angry.

Auric somehow could understand. She was able to stand like this because her family supported her. Her love for her family might even surpass his.

That was why Milinda couldn’t contain her rage when Trevor went for Auric’s mother. She couldn’t help but imagine what would happen if it were her parents.

Auric muttered coldly, ”Well, I guess we should use this to completely crush his family.”

”Should I do it?”

”No need.”

What Auric didn’t know was that what had happened in Thunderer City was different from what he had been told.

”...” Maya hung up the call and looked toward Natalia.

Natalia wasn’t even the same as the first time she saw her.

In fact, when she received that message from Auric, she couldn’t help but think, ’Seriously? Does his mother even need me?’

And what happened was exactly how she envisioned it.

There was a pile of bodies in front of her, not a single one alive.

On top of that pile sat a woman. Her long blond hair was swaying to the left, carried by the wind. She had golden eyes with a cross symbol on her irises.

There was a golden halo on her back along with six angel wings.

This was a state that even she hadn’t reached yet.

The same woman who helped her against the two enemies in the ruins.

What government agents? What her? Everything was solved by the person they were supposed to ’protect.’

Maya couldn’t help but recall what happened earlier.

All this time, Auric had never known about it, so Maya realized that this person had chosen to hide everything.

”There she is!” Maya heard someone shout. She leaped to a rooftop that allowed her to see what had happened.

There she was—Auric’s mother, Natalia Elfe. She turned around and saw a group of people. Their strength couldn’t be underestimated.

’A big group? I can see someone as strong as me. Does the government...’ Maya glanced to the left, noticing that a few rank 4 humans were fighting.

After Auric’s announcement, the government had added four more rank 4 agents to protect Natalia.

It was only natural, considering the government only had the commander as their rank 5 fighter. And that person had become weaker than her after losing his arm in the previous beast wave.

Still, the mayor did everything he could. Assigning a total of six people of that rank gave Natalia protection comparable to that of the mayor himself.

However, all of them looked busy.

’How many are they?’ Maya narrowed her eyes. The enemy was truly using everything they had.

Her attention immediately shifted when she heard an order.

”Capture her!”

Maya raised her hand, ready to launch a sneak attack to kill a few enemies first. However, she suddenly stopped when Natalia suddenly glanced at her as if knowing her position.

Natalia smiled, giving a bit of pressure. Maya knew that she shouldn’t move.

However, the enemies noticed that gaze and looked up.

”Another enemy!”

”Stop her!”

They shouted, trying to warn everyone else. But as soon as they were distracted, two sandals suddenly flew like laser beams, destroying two heads.

There was no sound because the movement was too fast.

”Sandals...” One guy turned around and saw normal sandals fall to the ground.

”!!!” The leader widened his eyes and turned back to Natalia, who turned out to be the one throwing the sandals. ”You...”

”I always wanted my son to do something bad so that I could punish him. You know? My bucket list as a mother is tossing my slippers at my son. Too bad that he’s such a good kid that I can’t even raise my voice at him. However...”

A six-winged angel suddenly appeared behind Natalia. This avatar suddenly started to disperse like energy, flowing into Natalia’s body.

Six angelic wings then emerged on her back. Her black hair turned blond. The pressure emanating from her body intensified.

”What?!” The leader took a step back in horror. ”Fusing with the avatar. You...”

Natalia waved her fingers up. Suddenly, the sandals that she had thrown returned, piercing the hearts of two more people. At the same time, it moved so fast and unpredictably that the leader had little time to react.

He managed to shift his body slightly, but one of the sandals hit his right arm and severed it.

”Aaaahhhh!”

The leader dropped to his knees, clutching his arm. He saw Natalia coming, so he turned pale. ”Stop. We are from—”

Before the guy could speak, a light beam pierced his head, melting the entire head. ”Who asked?”

The rest of the people who came with him panicked.

”No. I don’t want to die!” They tried to scatter, but multiple beams pierced their bodies, killing all of them.

The gap in power between them was simply too great for them to block even a single attack.

Maya had only seen a portion of that power before. Seeing it again put some pressure on her.

”You can come down now.” Natalia smiled, looking at Maya.

Maya didn’t dare to do anything but follow her instructions.

”Auric told me to come here...” Maya reported.

On the other hand, Natalia was waving her hand up. All the bodies that had been scattered around suddenly rose into the air and moved to a single spot, creating a small mountain.

But there was a reason to do this. Before the bodies were dumped into a single pile, their phones or anything that could be used to identify them, such as wallets, had been taken out.

’Her control of energy is so exquisite that she can even do it like telekinesis...’ Maya gulped nervously.

Suddenly, one phone rang.

”!!!” Maya widened her eyes, trying to locate the phone, but Natalia had already found it and tossed it to Maya.

Maya hurriedly caught it and looked at the caller’s name.

”I’m tired.” Natalia sighed and sat down on top of the bodies.

Since she had given it to Maya, Maya answered the call.

”Matthew! Have you captured that bitch?”

Maya turned pale when she heard those words. She looked at Natalia, who was smiling but much more terrifying than when she had killed these people.

Natalia simply raised her thumb and waved it in front of her neck.

Maya’s body trembled and her hands were sweating. She took a deep breath before saying, ”Congratulations. Death has sent you an invitation.”

Natalia suddenly added, ”My dear. Your teacher and the government are so reliable. Don’t worry about your mom here.”

”...” Maya’s eyebrows twitched. She couldn’t help but shout in her heart, ’What teacher? What government? She’s the one who single-handedly solved the situation.’

Still, Maya chose to play along. She couldn’t imagine what would happen if she were angry.

After hanging up the call, Maya looked at Natalia. ”You are... No. Nevermind.”

Maya shook her head furiously, shaking the curiosity off.

”A correct choice. There are things that shouldn’t be asked. Take care of the matter here. Just tell them you did all this.”

”I... understand. I will also track down the enemy...”

”There is no need for that. Before all this happened, there was one rule I set. If there are conflicts, let the juniors do what they can. The adults shouldn’t be involved in this.

”Now that there are two sneaky rats who don’t want to play by the rules, and if relying on family power is the only thing they can do, then family it is.” Natalia smiled.

Maya trembled. There were a lot of questions in her mind, but she knew she shouldn’t ask and tell Auric about this.

Still, there was one thing that she thought she could ask.

”Is this... really fine?”

”It is fine. It’s not that I want to hide it, but...” The seraphim had come out of her body and disappeared, turning her back to her normal appearance. Natalia raised her right hand, which suddenly became translucent and flickered before turning back to normal. ”I don’t have much time left.”
