The Genius Evolution Store

’This family... how do I put it? Amazing?!’ Auric was lying down on his bed and staring at the ceiling. He was completely speechless.

Lindwurm flew on top of him and said, ”Isn’t it good? Such a harmonious family, like you said!”

’I know they’re harmonious, but...’ Auric sighed. He expected that a few of them would be busy. At most, he would probably meet two or three more people other than Mathias.

He just never expected everyone except the third son to show up.

What he didn’t know was that the family was crazier than what he had seen.

...

”So...” Mathias squinted his eyes. The atmosphere in the room turned colder. ”This is a very important moment. You all know that, right?”

”Yes.” Luriel nodded. ”Still, is he really Maya’s student? He’s pretty good.”

”I have a hard time sensing his power. It’s just... very complex. The amount of energy in his body is much stronger than that of a normal person. Has he evolved?” Liam looked up, recalling the information.

”I’ve investigated it. Apparently, he’s a silver-grade evolution master already.” Jeremy nodded.

”But the energy in his body... how do I say it? It’s actually close to undergoing another evolution? Is he going to evolve his avatar to the adult form soon?” Tia tilted her head in confusion.

”I heard he doesn’t have an avatar.” Lunaria shook her head.

”Does it really matter? I think you have forgotten why we are having this meeting!” Mathias stopped them.

”You are right, Father.” Edward nodded in agreement. ”This is the first time Maya has taken an interest in a man! It doesn’t matter if he’s her student or whatever. She never really respects people other than herself. Especially after that incident, she has been quite repulsive to men. And now she has a student! Do you know what this means?!”

”Maya’s trauma has been cured?!” Liam’s gloomy expression brightened.

”It’s more than that. Just look at his face, his talent, and all the things he has done.”

”Ohhh!” Luriel nodded in understanding. ”In that case, I will bring my husband and my children here tomorrow! No, wait. He’s going to Kallarnos tomorrow...”

”We need to show him the love of a family.” Jeremy nodded in agreement. ”Let’s have a big dinner tomorrow. Any objections?”

”I will call my assistant to clear my schedule tomorrow.” Luriel accepted it.

”Let’s do this, shall we?”

”It looks like I have to reveal my secret weapon!” Genetia smiled.

”As expected of you, Mother. A nuclear weapon right off the bat.” Lunaria nodded in agreement.

If Auric were here, he would have realized that this family actually had a screw loose in their heads. Maya might be the only normal person in this family.

It was no wonder that Maya, even though she loved her family, always shouted at them. They either did 0% or 200% every time.

...

Auric thought about closing his eyes and just focusing on his admission to the university the next day, but he suddenly heard something entering his room.

It wasn’t a human.

”Hmm?” Auric opened his eyes and hurriedly rose from his bed, trying to check what was going on.

He suddenly saw a piece of paper lying right in front of the door.

Confused, Auric opened the door and took a peek outside, wondering who had just slid the piece of paper in.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t see anyone.

”What’s going on?” Auric frowned. He looked at the piece of paper and saw no trace of energy, so it might not be a trap.

When he touched it, he realized it was thicker, resembling photographic paper.

”A picture?” Auric was a bit suspicious, so he flipped the picture, only to be dumbfounded by what was shown.

Cough!

Cough!

”What the f—!” Auric closed his mouth, trying to contain the urge to curse.

”What’s wrong?” Lindwurm asked while yawning. ”What the fuck?!”

Even Lindwurm was astounded.

It was a picture of Maya. If it were a normal picture, they would understand. However, it was a picture of Maya wearing a maid’s uniform. The skirt was rather short, and the neckline was completely open. It looked more like a cosplay than a real uniform.

More importantly, Maya was tying her hair into twintails and made a ’heart’ shape with her hands.

There was writing at the top of the picture, resembling a note of what she said at the time of the photo.

”Your lovely Maya will love you forever.”

Auric felt like spurting blood. He had felt embarrassed by Lindwurm’s teasing regarding the Sun Store. He had never really felt provoked enough for his blood pressure to rise so high that he might spit blood or have a heart attack.

But this picture made him feel like he’d lost 100 years of his life.

Auric’s hands were shaking as he turned to Lindwurm with a pale face. ’Lindwurm... Am I going to die if she ever finds out that I’ve seen this picture?’

”I don’t think you will die, but don’t you remember the question Mathias asked in the first meeting?”

Auric suddenly recalled that question. He immediately closed his legs and protected his most important thing.

”So, who actually gave this to me?”

Lindwurm shrugged. ”I don’t know, but it’s definitely one of them.”

Auric let out a long sigh. ”I don’t know... I might start regretting my choice to come here.”

”I’m going to sleep!” Lindwurm flew away.

”...” Auric didn’t know what to say anymore. It wasn’t like he could confront them with this picture. They could play dumb or even make him look like a weirdo.

The only thing he could do was to seal this picture in his Space-Time Storage forever.

”Nothing happened. It must have been the wind earlier. Ahaha... Ahahahaha...” Auric looked away in denial. He just returned to his bed and closed his eyes, not wanting to be awake any longer.

Fortunately, nothing happened after that. In the end, Auric acted naturally to any of them while trying to check their energy to see if any of them felt guilty or something.

But they looked the same as the previous day. It was as if they had done nothing wrong.

Auric couldn’t catch the culprit or anything, so he gave up.

Ultimately, Mathias prepared the car to take him to Kallarnos University.

The first day was just for introductions, so Auric definitely had time to pick some clothes later.

Therefore, they first gathered in the principal’s office.

”It looks like you are having fun here.” Arina waved her hand, noticing the watch that Auric wore. It was a gift, so at the very least, he would wear this watch as long as he was in the capital city.

Ellia remained calm, but the energy in her body was circulating quicker than normal. He had seen her a lot, so he knew Ellia was somewhat disturbed.

According to the arrangement, Milinda and Eric chose to stay in the hotel. They weren’t particularly close to Ellia or Maya, so they couldn’t exactly stay in their mansions.”

”Welcome. Sorry for the wait!” The principal of Kallarnos University, Theodore Gratness, entered the room. He was an old man, neither weaker nor younger than Mathias.

In fact, his name had spread throughout the entire country as one of the strongest people in the country.

Despite his status, he remained humble and cheerful, making him more approachable.

Principal Theodore brought their documents. ”Auric Elfe, Eric Dabood, Milinda Kompo, Arine Teneressa, and Ellia Stroph Astler. I would like all of you to sign here to make the exchange official.”

Auric and the others checked the documents first.

Meanwhile, Principal Theodore continued with his explanation. ”For the next two weeks, you will be treated as students of Kallarnos University. The classes here might be quite different from the ones in Grand Magica College, so I want you to do your best.”

”Thank you for giving us such an opportunity.” Auric smiled. ”May I ask something?”

”Sure, of course.” Principal Theodore smiled. Auric was definitely the person he was most curious about.

”Can I open a shop here?” Auric asked. He was wondering whether he should use the building that Luriel gave him or open the store inside the academy.

The latter meant he only focused on the students from here, while the former allowed him to treat other people.

”Of course, you can open your shop here. Everything is based on student points. However, if you can have someone who guarantees you with their points, it’s easy to open the shop. Although you come here as an exchange student, I can’t give you too much special treatment, so I can’t give you the points to open the shop.

”But I have a few suggestions. First, you can make friends and use those friends to help you set up the shop. Second, you can approach people individually and treat them, earning points directly. Third, you can try to earn points by submitting a battle technique or being good at your classes, or even going on a mission.”

Auric nodded in understanding. He was merely considering his options. Opening the store in the academy would be good for connections, but if he wanted more customers, he should open the store outside.

Auric wanted to get the feel of the university first before making a decision.

”All right. I have confirmed all of your signatures. Welcome to Kallarnos University.” Principal Theodore smiled. ”Katarina.”

”Yes!” A woman’s voice echoed from outside.

Auric noticed that this person wasn’t ordinary. At the very least, her avatar was already in its adult form. If it were Grand Magica College, she would already be eligible to graduate.

She looked like an intelligent beauty with her hair tied in a ponytail, a pair of glasses, and a formal dress.

”This is the student council’s vice president. In this academy, you can join the student council by proving your worth. For example, the current student council president is the strongest student in this university.

”Katarina here is the strongest in her years. It’s said that she will most likely become the strongest in the entire university once the fourth-year students graduate. I believe she is also aiming to evolve her avatar into the mature form before graduating.

”She will be guiding you around today. The class will start tomorrow morning. Do you have any other questions?” Principal Theodore paused for a moment. Since no one asked, he nodded. ”Very well. In that case, Katarina, will you please introduce them to our university?”

”Yes, sir.” Katarina nodded. ”I am Katarina Vasilyevna. My father is Russian and my mother is French. Nice to meet you.”

Auric didn’t think much about her origins, considering all kinds of countries had combined after the apocalypse.

Auric stood up. ”Hello, I am...”

Before he could introduce himself, Katarina immediately said, ”Auric Elfe, a 3-star bronze-grade evolution master with multiple elements. Eric Dabood, a blood user who has a strong will and can overcome an elemental advantage.

”Milinda Kompo, a unique-element user who has a versatile fighting style. Arina Teneressa, Ellia Stroph Astler’s childhood friend and her assistant. Lastly, Ellia Stroph Astler, the heiress of the Astler family, is a space element user. I have read all of your files. This way, please.”

Auric scratched the back of his head. ”Well, that makes it easier then.”

Eric chuckled. This was probably the first time Auric got ’stonewalled’ by another person.

Ellia and Arina didn’t say anything, knowing it was only natural for people to behave this way here.

Milinda just looked around since she didn’t really care whether she could make a friend or not.

In the end, Katarina brought them around the university. Their facilities were bigger, and the average student’s strength was much higher. It was no wonder that this place was the number one university in the country.

However, Auric froze one more time when he saw someone wearing a maid costume walking normally around campus. No one even bothered to look at her as if it were something natural.

It might be because of the weirdness of the Relesha family, or it might be because of the photo that he had received before he slept, Auric simply felt overwhelmed by the capital city.

’I don’t know what to say, but the capital city is... amazing.’
