The Genius Evolution Store

”Let’s begin, shall we?” Auric nodded to Paul.

”Understood.”

”First, I need you to show me your battle technique.”

”My battle technique?” Paul widened his eyes. He had never heard anyone ask him to show his battle technique. ”Is it not enough to just show my energy?”

”Well, it is enough. But using a battle technique gives me more details.” Auric glanced down.

Paul misunderstood that glance, thinking that the battle technique actually gave a more accurate depiction of his other problem.

Knowing that this was a problem only he suffered, he realized that it might be just a special case.

Paul ultimately agreed and released his battle technique.

”Very good. Is that the most powerful one?”

”No.”

”In that case, show me your most powerful one.”

Paul started to gather his power, and before he released his power, Auric said, ”Okay, I now know the maximum limit. In that case, let’s try the lower limit. Use your rank 1 battle technique.”

After hearing the word ’limit,’ Paul got a better grasp of what Auric was looking for.

Paul didn’t say anything else. He showed the battle technique, which allowed Auric to copy this element.

Auric crossed his arms. ”It looks like your strongest rank 2 battle technique is the problem.”

”The problem?”

”Yes. I can say that it’s powerful, but it’s also flawed. You must have acquired it recently, yes?”

”Indeed. Well, this is rather embarrassing to say, but I got the inspiration to create this battle technique when I was with my girlfriend.”

”It’s not a bad battle technique, but it’s a flawed one. This is also the reason for your problem. After the evolution, it shouldn’t matter anymore because the strength of your energy can overpower the flaw. The problem is that if you create a rank 3 battle technique with that one as a reference, it might occur again.”

”I see.” Paul never thought the situation was like this. He never heard anything from the teacher. It looked like the evolution master in front of him was much more special than he had expected.

Nevertheless, Paul nodded solemnly. ”Understood. I will be extra careful. I won’t use this technique anymore.”

”In that case, I want you to get ready. I will reduce your power with the Sun White Lily. We will then proceed with your evolution by using a few materials that I want you to swallow in succession.”

”Okay.”

Auric then wrote the receipt and asked the staff to grab the material.

Once the material had arrived, Auric started the treatment.

”This is going to be hard, you know that?” Lindwurm asked. ”First of all, you come here as a bronze-grade evolution master. The Aheron family only provided you with rank 1 materials. Right now, you’re using the most potent material to weaken his element. However, it won’t be enough.”

’I know.’ Auric knew that this would probably be the hardest patient he had treated so far. That was why he intended to move carefully.

Auric took a deep breath, watching Paul absorb the lily.

The strong energy from within the lily rushed toward his energy.

As expected, the dark energy was putting up strong resistance. Because the dark element he possessed was ’Withering,’ this energy was draining the ’life’ from the lily’s energy.

As a result, the dark energy overwhelmed it quickly.

”All right. Concentrate. Circulate your energy!” Auric placed his hand on Paul’s back.

Paul gradually closed his eyes and calmed his heart.

Auric nodded. ”Okay, let’s begin. Absorb all the materials in succession. I will tell you once it’s enough.”

Paul followed Auric’s instructions and swallowed the materials.

Auric posed as a dark-element evolution master, so he couldn’t use his light element to deal with it. However, his dark element needed to do other things.

The first one was to create a channel for the energy from the materials to flow into the source of the problem.

There would be friction between his dark energy and the light energy from the materials.

And since Paul had to ingest a large amount of materials, Auric was worried that his dark energy wouldn’t be enough, especially since he had treated a lot of customers earlier.

Of course, Auric didn’t think the materials would be enough.

That was why he intended to use his light energy to assist the energy from the materials.

However, he needed to overwhelm Paul with his dark energy first so that Paul wouldn’t notice that Auric possessed a light element.

Auric still had one more trump card. There was one element that could help in this situation. It was his chaos element.

The power of the chaos element was extremely versatile, especially for his work as an evolution master. He was glad that he had managed to obtain this element before.

Once he directed the energy from the materials to the crotch area, Auric prepared for the second card, his light element.

Before channeling his energy into Paul’s body, Auric tried to mix the two elements first. He wanted to merge the chaos element with his sunlight element.

He had managed to combine the space and time elements before, but when he tried to mix these two elements, he failed.

’As expected, I can’t do it. Is it because I’m not skilled enough, or is it because they’re not compatible?’

Auric had been trying to combine another element with his unique element, but it never succeeded.

In addition, the chaos element was much harder to combine, considering its properties.

However, because the space and time elements could be combined into one, he believed that he only lacked the ability to fuse them.

Since he failed again, Auric simply had to deal with it in the normal way.

Auric first sealed the energy around Paul’s crotch. Then, he created another seal outside this sealed energy. It looked like there was a black sphere enveloped by a white sphere.

Auric created one more sphere, which was full of holes this time. These holes were meant to let the light energy flow from the material. Since the energy came from all directions, Paul wouldn’t notice if Auric slipped in his own light energy.

Paul remained focused. Once he was done absorbing the first material, he continued to the second material.

Little by little, the amount of energy in his body went down.

Auric felt like his light element would be exhausted if he really had to do this purely with his light element. Fortunately, the energy from the materials was more than enough to make this a success.

And this was when the fun began. Auric not only slipped in his own light element, but he also inserted a thin strand of chaos energy.

Its purpose was rather obvious. The chaos energy was breaking down the dark energy, which made it easier for the light energy to suppress Paul’s dark energy.

This was why Auric wanted to combine chaos energy with all the other elements. With chaos energy, he could gain an elemental advantage against other elements.

If he somehow encountered an absolute ice element in the future, he would end up in a draw with his absolute fire element.

But if he combined the absolute fire element with the chaos element, the chaos element would break down the absolute ice element, allowing the absolute fire element to crush it.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t do it yet.

Nevertheless, his plan worked. Even with his current power, he was able to bridge the gap between them with the chaos element.

Auric carefully monitored the energy. He saw that the amount of energy in Paul’s crotch was not all the excess energy.

Once he got rid of all of it, he expected that Paul’s element was still at 103%.

The remaining 3% came from the material he had eaten before. That was why he knew Paul had only experienced this problem recently.

Once he solved the first problem, Auric noticed that the chaos element had made it too easy to solve that problem. He had way more energy than he needed to suppress the remaining five.

He could get rid of them by infusing his dark element. This was how a normal dark-element evolution master helped a dark-element patient.

However, Auric wasn’t normal. To avoid spending as much energy as he normally would, Auric said, ”It’s time for you to evolve!”

Paul nodded and summoned his avatar.

This was the Dual Fusion Method. He also used the Extreme Bridge Management to create channels so that the suppression remained under control.

Since the evolution had begun, the strength of Paul’s dark energy increased drastically.

It was overwhelming the light energy around it, even though it had a lower amount.

Auric carefully monitored it, making sure it didn’t go below 100%. Of course, Auric could supplement 1% or 2% energy with his own element, but he would rather not do it.

After all, he had been precise all this time. He wanted to maintain that precision.

102%...

101%...

100%.

Once it reached 100%, Auric immediately used the Extreme Bridge Management to seal the light energy. The amount of this light energy was much less than normal, so Auric simply used his dark energy to get rid of it.

It didn’t take more than a few seconds to completely get rid of the remaining energy.

Everything was perfect, so Paul could continue his evolution without facing any trouble.

Auric then stepped back, observing Paul’s energy. Just like anyone whose avatar evolved to the adult form, the energy immediately spread to the entire body as soon as the evolution was completed.

”Huuu...” Paul opened his eyes and exhaled deeply. He could see that Auric was doing something so complex that he didn’t understand a single thing Auric was doing.

However, Auric’s treatment was extremely fast. The only time he felt slightly uncomfortable was when Auric told him to evolve.

He felt uncomfortable for a minute until Auric got rid of the remaining energy in his body.

Nevertheless, the evolution was a success. The young evolution master who helped him this time was truly extraordinary.

Paul gulped and scratched the back of his head. ”I’m sorry for my behavior earlier.”

”It’s fine. Everyone can understand it, especially since you knew me as a bronze-grade evolution master.”

”Thank you.”

Auric then extended his hand. ”Anyway, congratulations on your evolution. Let’s go out. The rest should be tired of waiting for us.”

”Before that...” Paul felt a bit awkward, but he still said it. ”I still want to make up for it. If you have any time, I’d like to invite you to dinner.”

”No, it’s fine. Just pay the normal fee and we’re good.”

Paul had no choice but to accept this decision for the time being. In the end, he exited the room with Auric.

Paul insisted one more time, but Auric shook his head.

”Thanks for the help. Let’s meet again later.” Axel waved his hand to Auric as he brought his two friends away. All this time, Axel had never mentioned Auric’s name, so his friend had no way of knowing his identity.

When they were gone, Lindwurm couldn’t help but say, ”That guy is extremely sly. You may want to be careful with him.”

’What do you mean?’ Auric was confused as to why Lindwurm suddenly threw an accusation at Axel.

”He and Ellia are the same. However, Ellia needs you more than he does, so she is more sincere with you. On the other hand, that guy had the chance to stop his friend or ask for your permission to explain the situation. He could even tell him about the fact that you cured his poison so his friend didn’t have the chance to look down on you.”

’It was intentional?’

”He knew that his friend would feel apologetic to you. His friend would most likely try to ask him to smooth things over with you, which would ultimately make him owe a favor.”

’Is that really what’s going on?’ Auric never expected that Axel was thinking all that.

”That’s what I can see in him. The fact that his friend is not scared of him means his background is quite big, if not equal to Axel’s. For such a person to owe him, what do you think?”

’He must be a powerful heir who might take over his family. This small favor turns into a favor that can mobilize a big family.’

”Bingo. This is the type of relationship you will have if you go into politics or business. You are lucky that Ellia needs you. If not, she would have screwed you over multiple times already, like creating a non-existent problem and solving it so that you would owe her or something.”

”...”
