THE GOD EATER

Chapter 46: Practicing Dao Heart.

The best Dao Heart refining technique goes to the Mental Matrix technique of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect. It is difficult to start it, but there is no chance of ever losing control or experiencing a backlash with it.

As for the Sky Raising Technique of the Four Directions Sect, it can’t be the best because the sky in the mind can become too heavy for the giant and crush the giant. This is a backlash that will lead to the breaking of one’s Dao Heart and the immediate loss of control.

If their Dao Heart Breaks, their willpower will fall, and they will lose control of their Core Metac. Then their Core Metac will take over their body and make them kill every human that they encounter.

This is what’s called a demon. It is a cultivator who has lost control and whose mind is filled with only the slaughter of every human being.

This kind of fate is definitely a bad outcome. But the disciples of the Four Directions Sect are still proud of their refining technique because it is much better than the White and Black Dao Heart refining technique of the Sword Way Sect.

Disciples of the Sword Way sect refine their Dao Heart with actions that align with their chosen morality. The reliance on morality makes their Dao Heart easy to raise but too unreliable and easy to break.

So, no matter how bad the Sky Raising technique is, the disciples of the Four Directions Sect are proud of it because it isn’t the worst technique. At least, Loki can’t be picky about which technique to use since he only knows one technique, and because one can only use one technique even if they know more than one.

He is refining his Dao Heart because it is the only thing that he can still improve within the sect grounds. His goal is to reach level 6 of Dao Heart as soon as possible.

Actually, his Dao Heart is not the only thing that he can improve. He can also increase the strength of his body, the strength of his mind, and the strength of his soul.

Unfortunately, he can’t bring any of those three things back to the past when he reverses time. If he reverses time to a period when he hasn’t trained them, he would have to retrain them again.

Since he has been reversing time a lot because of Slav’s numerous attempts to kill him, any progress he makes in his body, mind, and soul, are always lost. So he hasn’t bothered to waste his time on them.

He has asked around, so he heard that the next rank of Dao Heart might be the Iron rank. Right now, the giant in his mind is made of stone. If the next rank his the Iron rank, the body of the giant will transform into iron.

From what he has heard, the rank 6 Dao Heart is so mystical that those who possess it will always be able to awaken their memories of their past life when they are reborn after death. They call such powerful beings reincarnated beings.

He doesn’t know how true this is, but he hopes it is true so that if he dies of old age, he will be able to remember everything that he did in his last life and not rely on chance.

This thought went through his mind as he focused on the giant in his mind and tried to make his form and shape clearer and sharper. The anger he was feeling currently was the blade that he used to carve out the giant.

The clearer the giant’s form, the easier it will be to refine. The giant is just like any other material in that one needs to be able to see it and touch it to refine it.

Emotions are the best tools for him to use to make the giant become tangible and clearer in his mind. So the angrier he becomes, the clearer the giant becomes, and the faster he will be able to achieve a rank 6 Dao Heart.

Even though they said that a rank 6 Dao Heart is impossible to achieve without a lifetime of experiences and training, he didn’t stop adding one detail after another.

He didn’t let the comments about how aiming for level 6 Dao Heart is daydreaming for people like them because those thoughts would breed fear and despair within his heart, which would weaken the giant, and let the weight of the traumatic experiences that Muni put him through crush the giant in his mind.

He said to himself as he refined his Dao Heart, ”Only old age can kill me. So as long as I have a breath in me, there is nothing to fear. As long as I keep living, I will keep fighting.”

This mantra is the core of the giant in his mind. If one day this mantra becomes unable to bear the weight of the sky or falters, his Dao Heart will shatter, and he will become a demon to be hunted and killed by everyone.

Due to his hard work all of these years, the giant in his mind went from an image with a resolution of 240p to an image with a resolution of 720p. So for three years of hard work, the giant has become three times sharper.

Progress has become slower now. But he is willing to spend another 30 years on it if he has to. His dedication is all thanks to his core mantra.

Thanks to that mantra, he knows that he will always be rewarded for his hard work, no matter how long it takes. Since not even being killed can put an end to his path, he can always have a long-term goal unimpeded by the possibility of being killed.

He spent the remaining 1 month of initiation lying low like this. He didn’t attend any class and only spent his time refining his Dao Heart.

The only thing he couldn’t miss was the three tests. He had to go to class for those, and as usual, he passed the tests with flying colors.

Muni didn’t like his behavior of not attending classes and made mention of it every chance he had to admonish Loki. And even though Loki passed the test without any problem, Muni would still berate him for being a truant and a bad influence on others.
