THE GOD EATER

Chapter 45: Practicing Skill.

To top things off, various Branch Metacs were activating onto the small sword once in a while. A quick count showed that he was using Living Armament, Body Lever, and Sword Edge all at once on the sword.

Together with the Liquid Metal Metac that made the sword in the first place, the Telekinesis Metac that was making it turn, and the Sword Heart Metac that was making it turn well according to his wishes, he was a total of six Metacs at the same time.

When this wasn’t enough to put pressure on his mind, he decided to activate the Sword Dance Metac. This Branch Metac caused the small sword to split into three. One of the swords was real while the other two were fake.

The three swords began to rotate and mingle with each other in a way that made them appear as if they were dancing with each other.

Their movement was like that of synchronized dancers. It was mesmerizing to behold. But if he were to use it to attack, his enemy wouldn’t think it was so beautiful because they wouldn’t know which of the three swords is the real one.

His enemies will need to know which sword is the real one so that they know which one to block. If they try to block the fake swords, they will fail because the fake swords will pass through most obstructions, strike them, and cut them.

So the fake swords should be avoided if there is no specialized way to block them, such as the Sword Deflect Metac. To anyone who doesn’t have this kind of special Metac, they will have to avoid the fake swords, and they will most likely do it in an awkward way that makes them look like they are being forced to dance.

He wasn’t doing this for the fun of it. No matter how bored he is, he won’t waste his time watching sword dance when he can be doing something more productive with his time.

The reason he is doing this is to train his Energy Manipulation Skill. By using as many Metacs as possible and pushing his mind, he can better control his internal energy and Metacs far more than just swirling his internal energy around in his energy well during cultivation.

He was doing this when his eyes suddenly gained clarity, as he had just woken up from a dream. This dream is the experience of the following two months, which will end with him being killed by an explosion.

The sudden infusion of memories in his mind made him lose control of the arrangement that he had made with the short sword. The two fake swords disappeared, and the short sword liquified into liquid metal in his hands.

He saw this destabilization of his control, but he didn’t care because he had reached the limit of skill that he could have for rank 1. Until he advances to rank 2, he won’t be able to use his internal energy to overload metacs.

So he stopped practicing and instead focused on the matter of his death. This was a more important matter since the explosion had cost him two months of his lifespan.

He gritted his teeth as he said, ”Those fools. When did they begin to explode corpses? It seems I underestimated them. They were ready for my death, even if that guy dies. No wonder they sent only one of them to fight me.”

The more he thought about the situation, the angrier he became and the more he wanted to go and slaughter Slav and every one of them.

However, he didn’t do it now because he had done it in the past, and it didn’t lead to a good outcome for him. There just wasn’t a tangible benefit to be gained from killing them. He would only get killed when Muni comes over to punish him.

He has also tried to avoid punishment by bribing Muni to turn a blind eye, but Muni wouldn’t listen to him and would rather kill him to take all of his wealth instead of part of it as a bribe.

So the smart thing to do is to swallow his anger and keep a low profile. He knows this and is willing to do it, but this smart thing only makes him angrier because he has the power to seek revenge, but he is unable to swallow it because of the unfortunate circumstances he is in.

At the end of the day, he could only snort and say, ”Just you wait until we finish initiation and leave this place. I will have my revenge many times over.”

After promising to have his sweet, sweet revenge in the future, he was able to calm down a little. Then he decided to use his anger to refine his Dao Heart.

The Dao Heart refining technique of the Four Directions Sect is the Sky Raising technique. It is a visualization technique in which he must visualize himself as a giant holding up the sky.

Every day that he lives, the sky becomes heavier, which is because the sky in his mind is an amalgamation of all of his experiences and emotions.

The sky puts pressure on the giant that refines the giant. So as the sky becomes heavier, the faster the giant carrying the sky becomes harder and stronger.

In a way, it can he said that the older the person practicing this technique is and the more experiences, especially traumatic experiences, that they have experienced, the more effective this Sky Raising technique will be for refining their mind.

This makes the Sky Raising technique easy to use to refine the mind. Combined with the fact that this technique is also easy to learn, one might call it the best technique for refining one’s mind.

However, no one calls the Sky Raising technique the best Dao Heart refining technique in the world. Not even the disciples of the Four Directions Sect, who should be proud of their sect, call it the best technique for refining the Dao Heart.
