MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 1029: Point Divider

The moment the Angels were in place, one of them immediately made a move without missing a single beat, as though hesitation itself was a concept far beneath her.

[Flame Sacred Magic: Cataclysmic Ember Petals]

The moment the Angel cast the spell, the air hummed with overwhelming force as Faith Energy roared violently through the surroundings via the body of the Angel, surging outward in uncontrollable waves as reality itself bent and warped to accommodate her spell, as though the very fabric of existence acknowledged and yielded before her authority.

A gigantic magical circle with various glowing intricate runes appeared above everyone, its size spanning an enormous portion of the surrounding space, its divine radiance illuminating everything beneath it. Collins’ head snapped towards it almost instantly, his sharp gaze locking onto the formation, and before he could even initiate a countermeasure, golden petals began to pour downward from it, countless in number, golden in colour, shimmering with divine light and grace, descending like a sacred storm.

But Collins wasn’t fooled in the slightest; as a mage of his caliber, he could sense the potent and overwhelming energy packed into every single petal, each one containing enough destructive force to obliterate constellation, and their numbers were not just large, they were literally uncountable, stretching endlessly as they fell.

He didn’t waste any time trying to evade or escape, knowing full well that such an attempt would be meaningless against an attack of this scale; instead, he immediately channeled his mana into a defensive spell with absolute precision and control.

[Forbidden Lightning Magic: Coiling Dragon Scale]

With a booming sound that seemed to violently rumble the eardrums of everyone present, Collins’ mana erupted outward in a torrential surge as he cast another Forbidden spell without the slightest hesitation. He could tell instantly that this spell the Angel had used was far more dangerous than the previous one, and thus required an equally overwhelming response.

The lightning molecular elements in the surrounding cosmic space immediately bent to his will and command, responding as though they were extensions of his very being, and in the next instant, a deafening crackling sound filled the air as pure white lightning manifested around him in violent arcs. The white lightning rapidly formed a massive coiling wingless dragon, its body layered with thick, overlapping scales that radiated immense durability, the construct wrapping around Collins entirely as it encased him within an impenetrable defense.

The moment his defense was fully formed, the descending petals made contact, settling all over the white coiling wingless dragon, covering it completely like a golden veil, and in the very next instant, without any delay or hesitation, they all detonated simultaneously, erupting outward with planetary-level, apocalyptic bursts of destruction that defied comprehension.

A titanic impact tore outward in all directions as the unleashed power rivaled that of a supernova, distorting everything in its vicinity. Matter shattered into nothingness, light bent unnaturally out of proportion, and heat surged to unimaginable extremes as the golden flames engulfing the battlefield expanded outward endlessly without any sign of stopping or relenting, consuming everything in their path with divine fury.

Collins, who was hidden safely within his defense, could feel the immensity of the attack pressing against him; he could feel its overwhelming weight crashing relentlessly against his Forbidden spell, attempting to tear through it with unyielding force. But, despite this, he remained completely unbothered, his expression unchanged as his gaze stayed fixed on his own defense, utterly confident in its ability to withstand the assault without failure.

However, while Collins remained calm and composed within the storm of destruction, the Angels immediately realized that their spell had inflicted zero damage. Without wasting even a fraction of a second, the second Angel took action, his wings flapping with immense force as he propelled himself forward, his golden form slicing cleanly through the raging explosion as though it were nothing more than a minor obstruction. The moment he closed the distance, his figure vanished from where he stood as he activated a holy skill with flawless execution.

Light Displacement

In the very next instant, one of the rays of light within Collins’ defense abruptly disappeared, and in its place, an Angel materialized. Collins’ eyes narrowed sharply the moment he perceived the shift; he hadn’t anticipated nor predicted that one of the Angels would directly teleport into his defense itself.

Yes, he possessed complete control over the coiling dragon construct, but he did not possess control over the space he occupied, and that distinction had now been exploited.

The moment the Angel appeared, he launched an immediate attack without the slightest delay. Due to the extremely close proximity between them, he couldn’t risk using large-scale attacks, as he too would suffer the consequences. His katana flashed forward with lethal intent, aimed directly at Collins’ neck in an attempt to catch him completely off guard.

But Collins’ reaction was purely instinctual. He didn’t think, nor did he need to. His reflexes alone were more than enough, his body moving on its own accord as mana flowed seamlessly to his subconscious will, and in that instant, he entered his lightning phasing state. The incoming slash passed through him effortlessly, phasing through his body as though he didn’t exist.

Yet the Angel showed no signs of hesitation or surprise, as though he had already anticipated this outcome. It was as if he had already decided that if his initial surprise attack failed, he would immediately transition into another strike without breaking momentum.

And transition he did, seamlessly and flawlessly. His previous motion flowed into the next with perfect continuity, like a master of the blade executing a single uninterrupted action rather than two separate attacks.

[Grace Katana Technique: Point Divider]

The Angel’s katana surged forward in a blinding arc, his Faith Energy amplifying his speed to an extreme level as he executed a precise and lethal strike aimed once again at Collins’ neck, this time with far greater intent and precision.

Despite still being in his lightning phasing state, Collins’ instincts flared violently, screaming danger with absolute urgency. He didn’t question it, nor did he attempt to rationalize it; understanding was irrelevant. If his instincts warned him, then that alone was enough. In the next moment, his body burst apart into countless streaks of dissipating lightning energy, each fragment shooting in different directions within the confined space.

As he dispersed, the Angel’s katana sliced through the exact location where Collins’ neck had been, and the instant the blade passed through that space, it split apart unnaturally, like fabric being severed into two perfect halves, unable to ever become whole again.

The technique the Angel had used did not merely target the physical body; it targeted the very space at Collins’ neck. Even in his phasing state, Collins still occupied space within reality, and had he remained there, he would have been cleanly decapitated without question.

But Collins had no intention of remaining on the defensive. He had already evaded two chained attacks in rapid succession, and now it was his turn to retaliate. In the very next instant, the scattered lightning streaks converged violently, slamming into one another as they rapidly reformed his body at an astonishing speed.

The moment his leg materialized, before the rest of his body had even fully formed, Collins unleashed a powerful Brazilian kick aimed directly at the Angel’s temple, the strike carrying immense force and precision.

The Angel reacted instantly, raising his forearm to block the incoming attack, but Collins had already anticipated that response. His battlefield instincts surged once more, and at the exact moment of contact, his leg shifted back into its phasing state, allowing it to pass cleanly through the Angel’s guard with effortless ease.

And in the very same motion, as his leg completed its trajectory, it solidified once again just as it reached the Angel’s temple, ensuring that the full force of the attack would land without obstruction, delivering a devastating blow with precise and calculated brutality.
