MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 856: Justice Versus Evil

Anthony could be seen sitting atop a towering pile of corpses fashioned from the bodies of dead Angels. He sat there with the eerie composure of a Grim Reaper, as though he had risen from the deepest pit of hell solely to drag these Angelic beings back down from their radiant homes called heaven. His posture was relaxed, even regal, one leg crossed over the other, his head resting lightly upon his palm as he stared down at the Angels below, each of whom glared at him with murderous intent. Anthony simply returned their stares with a calm, almost mocking smile.

There was a reason none of these Angels dared to take even a single step closer to him, let alone attempt another reckless charge. The corpses beneath him were the unfortunate souls who had rushed headfirst toward him earlier, foolishly believing their faith and divine nature would grant them an advantage. Anthony had effortlessly decapitated every one of them, their heads tumbling across the rocky surface like discarded ornaments.

The remaining Angels shifted their furious gazes toward a long, perfectly straight line carved across the surface of the asteroid they currently stood upon. This line had been drawn by Anthony himself just an hour ago. For the past sixty minutes, anyone, absolutely anyone, who crossed that boundary had their head separated cleanly from their neck, their Angelic light extinguished before they even realized what had occurred.

What frustrated the Angels even more was the inexplicable reality that no ability or technique they possessed worked in their defense. Their radiant shields? Completely futile. Their phasing abilities? Worthless. Teleportation? Nothing but wishful thinking. Everything they tried had failed with humiliating consistency.

Worse still, they couldn’t even understand how Anthony was doing it. They had no idea what mechanism or principle governed the attack the handsome young man before them was utilizing. They knew this Galaxy relied on mana as its primary source of power, the fuel behind every ability and skill ever forged. And although Angels could not use mana themselves, they could certainly sense it whenever it was in use. Yet they sensed nothing from Anthony. Not even the faintest flicker, not a mote of it.

How could they possibly sense it when Anthony was simply using the Authority of Severance, an incomprehensible concept far beyond their divine understanding, to sever the heads of anyone foolish enough to cross his line?

Even after witnessing their failure, the Angels switched to long-range attacks, hurling beams, blades, bursts of elemental energies, and skills, each hoping that perhaps one of these abilities would succeed where the others had failed. But the moment any of their attacks drew near Anthony and appeared to land upon his body, it was snuffed out of existence as though it had never been.

Unknown to the Angels, the attacks they believed were touching him were not even getting close. Infinity stopped every strike before it could truly reach him, erasing each attack with absolute impartiality.

Everything they did ended in futility. Every strategy, every ability, every desperate attempt amounted to nothing more than pointless gestures.

Anthony continued to stare at the Angels, patiently waiting for their next maneuver, their next foolish strategy, yet after several minutes, nothing happened.

”If this is the extent of your faith and belief in your so-called God, then I believe you might be nothing more than fake believers,” Anthony remarked with a soft smile, his tone annoyingly calm as he observed them.

His words made all of them frown instantly. This was the first time in all their existence that anyone had dared to accuse them of being fake believers. They could not endure such an insult. Their pristine white teeth ground together in righteous fury, yet even then, they did not take a single step across the line etched before them.

Fanatical as they were, deranged as some of them had become, they were not completely mindless. They would not throw their lives away like worthless stones. Yes, they were fully prepared to fight and die for their God, but they would not die stupidly, not without at least landing a blow on their opponent.

”Hmmm... From now on, I refuse to call your race Angels. Instead, I shall call you fake believers,” Anthony continued with a calm smile. ”And since your race supposedly stands as the emissaries of your God, it is only natural that you all should be fighting against evil. Good versus bad. Justice versus evil. Light versus darkness. God against the Demon King... dramatic contrasts like that.”

His words caused them to narrow their eyes sharply. They couldn’t decipher what this human was scheming, but if the past hour had taught them anything, it was never to underestimate the handsome monster seated before them.

”Let us have a delightful Angel versus Demon match... shall we?” Anthony suggested with a playful grin. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers, his voice echoing with the authority of one who commanded the laws of existence itself.

Quantum Manipulation: Genetic Manipulation

An overwhelming wave of radiant white energy erupted into existence, slamming into the Angelic corpses beneath him, corpses that had become his throne. Right before the horrified eyes of the Angels, the pale, golden bodies of their fallen brethren twitched violently. Their once-pure forms darkened, gold and white morphing into shades of black, brown, and blood-red. Their feathers shriveled into grotesque appendages, claws extended, nails sharpened like obsidian blades.

Anthony was turning them into demons.

He did not move. He remained seated, watching their expressions transform from anger to shock, then to an indescribable, soul-piercing horror. They knew exactly what he was doing. Before their very eyes, he was defiling Angels, turning them into the very embodiments of corruption. This was impossible. This was a feat only He, their God, should be capable of performing. Above all, this act was nothing short of sacrilege.

Quantum Manipulation: Energy Bestowment

Anthony’s voice came again, even more playful, as the white energy shifted into swirling chaos energy. It slammed into the twisted forms of the former Angels, now fully transformed into demons.

Anthony finally stood, his body rising gently into the air as though gravity itself bowed before him. Chaos energy coursed through the demons below, their bodies twitching violently before each one stood upright, their pitch-black eyes snapping toward the Angels across the line.

From above, Anthony spoke, ”On one side stands evil. On the other stands justice. Let this moment determine whether the phrase ’justice shall prevail’ remains true no matter the circumstances.” With a simple wave of his hand, the dividing line between the two sides vanished.

Instantly, the demons rushed forward without hesitation. Their bodies blurred into streaks of darkness as they lunged, tearing into the Angels with ruthless ferocity.

The Angels faltered, hesitating at the sight of their former kin. For a fleeting moment, they could not bring themselves to fight. But as the chaotic battle unfolded, they had no choice but to retaliate. Explosions tore across the asteroid, planets shattered, and nearby solar systems collapsed under the sheer force of the conflict. Holy light clashed against corrupted darkness, each side fighting with everything they possessed.

Anthony remained above them, now wearing a pair of sunshades perched casually upon his nose as he bit into an apple. To him, this spectacle was entertainment, a perfectly tailored show. These beings were far too weak to provoke even the slightest exertion from him. Watching them was more amusing than taking part.

Within a few hours, the Angels were completely wiped out, their shattered corpses drifting aimlessly through the void of the Galaxy.

”It seems evil triumphs over justice this time,” Anthony mused aloud. Of course evil prevailed, he had crafted this evil himself. The idea that these Angels believed they could defeat demons created by him was nothing short of delusion. Even their so-called God couldn’t grant them such a miracle, no matter how many billions of years they prayed.

Just as Anthony prepared to erase the demons he had created, a voice boomed from above.

Pillar of Purification.

In an instant, hundreds of colossal pillars descended from the cosmic sky, each one radiating pure faith energy. Their presence was holy, incandescent, and blinding as they crashed into the demons with divine fury.

Anthony did not react as his creations were obliterated in a single strike. His sky-blue eyes simply shifted upward, focusing on the new intruder descending from beyond the bright holy curtain.
