Chapter 861: Nothing Is Faster Than Time

’When?’ The Angel thought, astonishment coursing through its divine consciousness. It hadn’t even felt Aaaninja move toward its head, yet the presence of impending doom pressed upon it.

”You are a strength type Angel, correct? I wonder if you can withstand this,” Aaaninja’s voice came again, flat, brisk, and devoid of emotion. He remained standing atop the Angel’s sacred halo. Without warning, he raised his right foot and slammed it downwards with the force of a planet, the impact tearing across the Angel’s right shoulder.

The Angel felt an incomprehensible torrent of force blast through its ornate breastplate. Its knees threatened to buckle, sending it hurtling toward the moon beneath their feet. Its teeth clenched in resistance, unwilling to concede that this aberrant being could desecrate its sacred space. With a thought, a roaring torrent of faith energy erupted from its body, blasting into the cosmic sky as though it sought to ignite the very galaxy itself.

Aaaninja’s form vanished and reappeared in the distance on the moon they stood upon, seemingly unshaken by the Angel’s divine outpouring.

”You dare stain my halo with your shoes and feet, lower being?” The Angel’s voice rang coldly, each word laced with lethal intent, so potent that it seemed to drench the very fabric of space. The intensity of its killing intent shattered the moon beneath them, fragments of rock and dust scattering violently outward.

The wave of killing intent crashed into Aaaninja, yet he remained unaffected. To him, it was no different from a gentle breeze passing through the void, inconsequential and trivial.

The Angel raised its double-edged axe toward the cosmic sky, channeling an overwhelming surge of faith energy into the weapon. The axe shimmered, first spectral, then glowing golden, its size and weight expanding with every passing moment. With a deafening roar, the Angel swung the colossal weapon toward Aaaninja’s location, the very air around them vibrating under the assault.

As the attack closed in, Aaaninja raised a hand and snapped his fingers, his voice flat and precise: Temporal Erasure.

In that instant, time halted around the colossal axe, its momentum frozen mid-flight. In the next heartbeat, the entirety of the attack was erased from reality, not dissipating into motes of energy, nor shattering into fragments, but simply deleted, as if it had never existed.

The Angel froze, eyes wide in disbelief. It had poured an unimaginable amount of faith energy into that assault, yet the attack had accomplished nothing, not even a minor explosion.

”You... what are you?” The Angel demanded, its gaze narrowing to slits of suspicion and fury.

”Time will tell,” Aaaninja replied effortlessly, his presence as calm as ever. In the next moment, the speed type Angel blurred into existence beside the strength type Angel.

”It seems your brother has returned,” Aaaninja continued flatly. ”This battle is a two-on-one affair. I hope it will not disappoint, for if it does, I may have to personally eliminate your useless God when I meet him.” His tone was bored, devoid of emotion, as if pronouncing a mere fact rather than a threat.

Hearing Aaaninja’s insult toward their God, the two Angels’ battle intent ignited. Anger surged through their veins, divine fury manifesting in pure, blinding energy. Without hesitation, they launched themselves forward like arrows loosed from celestial bows. The speed type Angel surged ahead, closing the distance between itself and Aaaninja with incredible velocity, while the strength type Angel followed closely behind, its axe raised in anticipation.

From opposing sides, they struck simultaneously: an axe descending from the left, a sabre cutting from the right, each weapon blazing with potent faith energy. A fleeting smile crossed Aaaninja’s lips, vanishing almost as quickly as it appeared. His hand moved to the blade at his waist, and with a blur of motion, he deflected both attacks effortlessly. Mana and faith energy erupted in a devastating explosion that slammed into the void beneath them, shaking the very cosmos.

In an instant, all three vanished from sight, one a silver blur, the other two streaks of golden brilliance. The sound of metal colliding rang through the cosmic void, echoing like the death-knell of entire worlds.

Yet despite the overwhelming assault, the two Angels could not overpower a single man who fought with absolute ease. The speed type Angel unleashed a sabre technique, crescent-shaped golden strikes slicing through the cosmic void, painting the heavens with chaos and madness. The attack was relentless, potent, and heavy. Aaaninja met it without hesitation, mirroring the technique, but executed entirely through the energy of mana.

With a cataclysmic roar, their battle erupted into a thunderstorm of cosmic magnitude. Stars plummeted, moons shattered, planets were obliterated, and entire solar systems vanished under the sheer destructive force of their clash. The searing heat of their combined power suffused the galaxy, a cosmic haze enveloping the battlefield in near-total obscurity.

Yet through the devastation, Aaaninja remained untouched. The two Angels were battered and bleeding, their divine forms assaulted repeatedly by Aaaninja’s fists and blade. If not for their innate regenerative powers and unshakable faith in their God, they would have collapsed long ago.

Faith energy blazed across the wings of the speed type Angel. It accelerated beyond the limits of thought and light itself, its sabre aimed for Aaaninja’s chest with a velocity it had never achieved. The sheer pressure of the moment pushed it to the brink of its potential.

Aaaninja’s center of gravity shifted, his feet twisting with predatory precision. He moved aside at the last possible moment, his voice echoing through the Angel’s ears: ”Nothing is faster than Time.”

In the next heartbeat, his blade flashed in blinding silver arcs, slicing through the Angel’s wings. Feathers, blood, and divine tissue exploded outward, the Angel’s wings reduced to ruin in a single, terrifying motion.

From the side, the strength type Angel hurled its axe with desperate force. Aaaninja tilted his head effortlessly, allowing the weapon to pass harmlessly beside him. But the strength type Angel vanished in an instant, appearing before its own axe, and with a force that could have brought down the heavens, swung downward, unleashing a torrent of rampaging faith energy.

Aaaninja shook his head, a faint trace of amusement in his tone: ”Even space bows before Time.” With that, he activated Temporal Swap, instantly trading places with the speed type Angel.

The axe collided with the speed type Angel with ruinous impact, an overwhelming dome of energy erupting into the sky. The explosion expanded outward with each passing instant, winds of tremendous force fanning across its surface, the blinding radiance of heat and energy reducing everything in its path to absolute nothingness. The galaxy itself seemed to tremble under the cataclysm, a tide of destruction and unending madness sweeping through the cosmos.

Aaaninja remained at the epicenter of the devastation, but entirely outside the constraints of Time. He observed the scene calmly, his body untouched by the annihilation around him. Soon, the explosion subsided, the cosmic haze cleared, and the ruins of space came into view. Only the innermost void, ever-flowing and eternal, remained intact amidst the desolation.

The strength type Angel came into view, chest heaving violently as it panted for breath. Its golden eyes searched for the remains of its fallen enemy, but then it froze in utter disbelief. Reality struck with terrifying clarity, it had slain its own brother unknowingly.

Its gaze shifted to Aaaninja, who stood with unshaken composure, his calm expression radiating an almost inhuman serenity. ”You are evil,” the Angel muttered, voice heavy with anguish. It could not mount another attack, having expended every last ounce of its divine power in the previous assault.

”It was simply his Time, nothing more,” Aaaninja replied, his voice devoid of emotion. In a blink, his sword flashed, and in the next instant, the Angel’s head was severed. It tumbled across the sun-lit star upon which they stood, the body collapsing with a muted thud.
