Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 778 Funeral I

The share structure of Tiger Real Estate was relatively straightforward. Apart from 30% held by outsiders, Dominic held 55%, while his brother Darlan and other Taiga relatives held a combined 15%.

”So how was it distributed?”

Minda tensed up, her breathing quickening. ”That bitch—my sister—sheʼs always acted so high and mighty. She took a fortune when they divorced and acted like sheʼd never look back.”

”But the moment she heard that Dominic was close to death, she rushed back with her daughter. She was so attentive at his bedside that he must have softened.”

”Even if he had little feeling for that daughter, sheʼs still his flesh and blood. He probably left her something.”

Bella chuckled. ”Youʼre right. Your sister is something else!”

”After all those years of no contact, she came back and managed to cry so pitifully. Honestly, even I admired her acting.”

”At the hospital, they say Dominic was especially comforted. Seeing her daughter cry too, he must have gone soft.”

As the legal wife, Bella had only made brief appearances at the hospital while Dominic was being treated. Sheʼd look in, watch the drama, and leave.

With so many Taiga relatives around, playing the devoted wife wasnʼt her job anyway.

It was mainly the feuding sisters—Yana and Minda—who took turns with their daughters at his bedside.

David, seemingly having had a revelation, stayed glued to the scene, afraid they might whisper sweet nothings into his fatherʼs ear. He didnʼt dare leave.

Even though one of them was his biological mother, theyʼd only exchanged a few phone calls over the years. Their relationship had cooled to that of strangers.

But he couldnʼt stop them. Yana had returned with such determination—she must have had some leverage.

”That slut!”

Minda gnashed her teeth in fury.

According to Dominicʼs will, he donated 20% of his shares to the city. The distribution among his three children was also clear:

David received 25% outright, while each of the two daughters received 5%...

It looked messy at first glance, but in reality, it was full of wisdom. First, that 20% donation to the government was likely a gesture of gratitude for years of support. Even if there had been unsavory deals behind the scenes, this generous gift solidified the backing of those who had long supported Tiger Real Estate.

It looked messy at first glance, but in reality, it was full of wisdom. First, that 20% donation to the government was likely a gesture of gratitude for years of support. Even if there had been unsavory deals behind the scenes, this generous gift solidified the backing of those who had long supported Tiger Real Estate.

Even though Sebastian Ye was no longer in that circle, any meeting involving those shares would inevitably honor Comrade Sebastian Ye for his hard work and foresight back in the day.

The two daughters each receiving 5% was what infuriated Minda the most.

Her sister Yana had been gone for years with her daughter, only to suddenly return and claim kinship, ending up on equal footing with Mindaʼs own daughter.

From the outside, it looked fair—but only Minda knew the bitterness inside. She would never accept it.

As for Davidʼs 25%, upon closer inspection, it was a carefully calculated number.

The precious only son still held the largest stake, but it was less than half. If the others united against him, heʼd be doomed.

At that point, it would all depend on his abilities. If he couldnʼt even win over the Taiga familyʼs 15%, heʼd be finished.

The two sisters together had only 10%. Whether the outside shareholders had any objections depended entirely on whether David could make money for them.

With the city government holding 20%, even if they had no voice and didnʼt want one, they could no longer be ignored.

Especially given the current situation—if the IPO attempt failed again, the whole enterprise would crumble to dust.

Though Luis didnʼt understand business strategy, after looking at the equity distribution theyʼd written out, he couldnʼt help but feel like a complete amateur.

The distribution was simple: in terms of seizing power, everyone had a chance. But that 20% stake was like a nail.

The brilliance of that nail was that anyone wanting to succeed could be blocked by a single objection. Any party seeking real control would need approval from that quarter.

That was Dominicʼs wisdom—by willingly setting aside that portion, he ensured Tiger Real Estateʼs future wouldnʼt go off the rails.

Even Luis could suddenly grasp such a basic truth.

Bella smiled. ”So you two donʼt need to fight anymore. The share issue is settled.”

”Before the IPO, no one is allowed to sell their shares. This time Waller is coming in strong and determined to succeed.”

With the shares allocated, anyone still harboring schemes would have to reckon with the swiftness of Wallerʼs blade.

As for the sisters, including David and Darlan, the disputes were far more complicated.

Besides Tiger Real Estate, Dominic—as an old-money tycoon—had substantial personal assets.

The villa heʼd lived in, several luxury cars registered in his name—those fixed assets were easy enough to divide.

The villa went to David. The three cars went to each of the three children.

But over the years, heʼd amassed quite a collection—fine wines, jewelry, jade ornaments, and valuable calligraphy and paintings. Liquidating those would also yield a significant sum.

Naturally, no one was satisfied with any proposed division. But this was a family matter, and Luis couldnʼt be bothered to intervene.

The funniest part was that amid all the bickering, they somehow reached a consensus: having Luis—an outsider—handle the distribution would be the fairest.

Given his background in this affair, any unfair distribution would reflect poorly on him, so heʼd have to keep things balanced.

Luisʼs approach was refreshingly simple and brutal: he labeled each item with a number.

Old Dominicʼs belongings numbered over a hundred pieces—a mixed bag of items whose values varied wildly depending on who was judging.

Take the jade alone—values ranged astronomically with no standard measure.

So after numbering everything, Luis set up a blind box draw, then called all parties together.

Yana and Minda, the two beautiful sisters, arrived earliest, both wisely leaving their daughters behind to avoid unnecessary arguments.

David, the bastard, actually showed up only after praying to the gods—clearly lacking confidence in his luck.

Bella, on the other hand, was the most relaxed. Sheʼd never wanted much from this affair anyway. Now that sheʼd been included, turning down free benefits would just be stupid.

-----

Over a hundred red envelopes were laid out, and each person took turns grabbing them quickly. Whatever number they drew corresponded to an item.

”Ladies and gentlemen, absolute fairness doesnʼt exist.”

”Take paintings, jade, and gemstones—thereʼs no fixed standard for their value. Everyone has their own opinion.”

”Take those two bottles of twenty-one-year-old Martell Blue Ribbon over there—one shop might price them at eighteen thousand dollars, another at twenty thousand.”

”Run into some second-hand dealers, and they might quote you ten thousand or even five thousand...”

”If you keep splitting hairs over this, youʼll be dead before reaching any conclusion. So letʼs keep it simple and fair!”

With that, Luis grabbed the bag and dumped over a hundred red envelopes onto the table.

”Itʼs such a mess that even if I wanted to cheat, itʼd be impossible!!!”

Luis chuckled. ”Take turns drawing. The order doesnʼt matter. After youʼve drawn, you can scramble them however you like.”

Pausing for a moment, Luisʼs expression turned cold, though his smile remained disarmingly innocent. ”If anyone has any objections, speak up now.”

The Wood sisters, David, and even Bella all nodded in agreement.

”Then let me be upfront.”

Luis sat down with a grin, lit a cigarette, and maintained his easy smile. ”Whatever you draw, thatʼs what you get.”

”If your luckʼs bad, no take-backs.”

”And if anyone dares to cause trouble after the fact—let me make this clear: since Iʼve stepped into this matter, anyone who tries to renege or stir up shit later...”

”Sorry, but Iʼll have my eyes on you...”

”Dealing with any of you would be simple enough.”

Luis usually came across as carefree and easygoing, a nice guy who was easy to get along with. But this was the first time heʼd ever laid down a threat so bluntly—and everyone was stunned.

David, in particular, was deeply shaken. A sudden chill ran down his spine, making him break out in a cold sweat.

When Luis had beaten him up before, it hadnʼt felt like a huge deal—just a fight where heʼd lost, nothing out of the ordinary.

In fact, as Dominicʼs son, heʼd hung around plenty of rich kids his age. Those seemingly dim-witted types whose parents were officials were all untouchable ancestors he couldnʼt afford to cross.

Heʼd played the groveling grandson before, but heʼd never placed Luis in that category.

After his fatherʼs earlier warnings and his uncleʼs recent lectures, David finally realized how stupid heʼd been.
