Chapter 891 - Demons

The Unique Sage looked at Kyleʼs team. ”The world you have come from has many powers. Sects, Companies, Guilds, Nations...”

”This is not the case in Ayuvar. This is not a world in which humans wage war with each other. You may believe that Humanity is just one Organization. That is not true.”

”Humanity is unified. We do not war with each other. We canʼt. If we kill each other, the Demons will overwhelm us. The Demons are unified, and if Humanity isnʼt unified, we will die.”

Kyle wasnʼt sure if things were really this simple. ʼThis sounds way too one-sided. I feel like I need to listen to the other side first. I mean, what if these so-called Demons are just a different nation? Also, Iʼve never heard of Demons before.ʼ

”What are these Demons?” Star Genesis asked.

”Ungodly beasts,” the Unique Sage said. ”You may call them beasts, but they are not truly beasts. Their bodies are unlike the bodies of normal beasts. Their powers are unlike the powers of normal beasts. Their minds are intelligent. They create weapons and use them skillfully in battle.”

Except for the last part...

That sounded familiar to Kyle.

Kyle glanced at Swamp Dragon, who glanced back. ʼAre they talking about Divine Beasts?ʼ Kyle asked.

ʼI suspected the same thing,ʼ Swamp Dragon transmitted, ʼbut Iʼve never heard of Divine Beasts that can make weapons.ʼ

ʼWe shouldnʼt jump to conclusions,ʼ Manny transmitted. ʼDivine Beasts only exist in the Supreme World, and they only exist in the Beast and the Immortal Dimensions. Divine Beasts do not exist in lower worlds. One Divine Beast could break the equilibrium of a lower world.ʼ

ʼWhat if a normal beast became a Divine Beast?ʼ Kyle asked.

ʼUnlikely,ʼ Manny answered. ʼDivine Beasts that appear in a Primary World are immediately killed by the worldʼs defenses.ʼ

ʼAnd you think those defenses are rock solid?ʼ Kyle asked. ʼJust like the Laws of Karmic Luck?ʼ

Manny furrowed his brows, a rare display of seriousness.

ʼMaybe thereʼs a way to fool these defenses, but I canʼt think of one,ʼ Manny answered.

”Enough talk,” the Unique Sage said. ”There are still two people left. Next battle.”

Star Genesis returned to the others, while Kyle and Sebastian looked at each other.

In the end, Sebastian stepped into the arena. He would be fighting without his Elemental for now. Sebastianʼs Elemental was their ace in the hole. They wanted to keep it secret in case something unforeseen happened.

Sebastian carried an orb in his hands, and the grey soldier facing him carried a similar orb.

Without his Elemental, Sebastian was about as powerful as Manny and Star Genesis, but with his Elemental, he would be even stronger than Kyle.

The Barrier Formation Array activated and—

BANG!

A brutal shockwave of Lightning Energy warped the space inside the arena. Dense lightning exploded around Sebastian as he shot forward.

A bolt of lightning.

50% of Sebastianʼs Center emptied.

Unreasonable speed.

A burst of power.

BOOOM!

The Barrier Formation Array blocked Sebastianʼs strike.

The half-formed metallic stone dispersed.

At this moment, Sebastian stood in front of his opponent, a lance of lightning in his hands.

Kyleʼs brows rose. ʼThat was pretty fucking fast. Heʼs even faster than me.ʼ

”You have earned your divinity with your power,” the Unique Sage said.

Yet, compared to the last couple of battles, the Unique Sage didnʼt say a lot. That was because Sebastian hadnʼt shown any surprising or valuable skills.

He hadnʼt shown a Battle Rite, an Imposing Law, Formation Arrays, or an Infused Mind Law.

He was just very strong.

”Last battle,” the Unique Sage said.

Sebastian walked back, while Kyle walked forward.

”Donʼt show your Infused Mind or Soul Laws,” Star Genesis transmitted.

”I agree,” Manny added. ”Two Infused Mind Laws might be too much, and we donʼt know how they will react to Infused Soul Laws. Your Infused Soul Law is one of our aces. We shouldnʼt show it easily. You should be impressive, but you shouldnʼt stand out too much.”

Kyle scratched the back of his head. ”Sure. If you say so.”

After entering the arena, Kyle reached his weapon. His chosen opponent pulled out a two-handed mace.

At the same time, Kyle also glanced at the Unique Sage, who emotionlessly watched the battle.

ʼThereʼs no way he hasnʼt noticed my True Sin Aura by now. Yet, he acts like it doesnʼt exist. I guess my True Sin Aura is not an issue here.ʼ

The Barrier Formation Array activated, and the opponent readied his Battle Rite.

A gigantic mace appeared above, had a metallic sheen and waves, showing that it was a Refined Law. That used parts of the Law of Gravity Metal. At the same time, the opponent used his Momentum to suppress Kyle.

To keep his Infused Mind Law secret, Kyle only allowed his Momentum to cover his mind. This gave him protection against the opponentʼs Momentum without influencing them.

Kyle watched the approaching mace as he used his Law of Hammer.

5% of his Energy went into his hammer. Sadly, his Law of Hammer wasnʼt advanced enough. Otherwise, he would be able to use more Energy.

It was important to highlight that Imposing Laws could improve in two ways. One was an improvement in quality, which increased the maximum amount of Energy one could use with one activation, relative to their total storage. When Kyle had just condensed his Law of Hammer, he could use up to 50% of his Energy. Right now, he could use up to 60% of his Energy. After all, he had improved the quality of his Law of Hammer in the Secondary Sector.

The other way to improve an Imposing Law was its level. This dictated the maximum total amount of Energy it could use. The Battle Rites the opponents used were more advanced, which meant they had a higher level, but in terms of quality, they were weaker than Kyleʼs Law of Hammer.

However, improving quality was harder than improving an Imposing Lawʼs level.

ʼThis guy probably didnʼt even make his own Imposing Law,ʼ Kyle thought as he looked at the approaching mace. ʼSome kind of powerful Spirit Lord or Ascendant probably made this. Still, crazy to think that you can just copy someone elseʼs Refined Law, which contains their Imposing Law.ʼ

ʼAnyway,ʼ Kyle thought as he readied his hammer.

His hammer swung forward.

BOOOOM!

The illusory mace broke into pieces as Kyleʼs body vibrated. A normal Seekerʼs body would have exploded from the backlash, but Kyle had an Infused Body Law. Because of that, he only received the tiniest and most insignificant injuries. Healing himself didnʼt even consume 0.1% of his Biological Energy.

On top of that, Kyle didnʼt even use any of his Energy. Sure, he had invested 5% of his Energy to activate his Law of Hammer, but his hammer didnʼt break. All of his Energy was still there.

When Kyle had said that he needed to use more Energy to achieve the same destructive effect as a grey soldierʼs Battle Rite, he was referring to his illusory hammer. If he just used his illusory hammer, he would need to use more Energy. However, he wasnʼt using his illusory hammer. He was using his actual hammer, which was several times stronger.

Then, Kyle just waited, watching the opponent activate their Battle Rite again.

BANG!

Kyle broke it again.

A third Battle Rite.

Kyle broke it.

A fourth.

Broken.

A fifth, which was launched with the Energy recovered after using four Battle Rites.

Kyle broke it.

Kyle just glanced at the Unique Sage, who just looked forward, waiting for the end of the battle.

”You can just call it, you know?” Kyle thought before looking at his opponent, who was out of Energy.

The next moment, Kyle summoned an illusory hammer behind the opponent, and the Barrier Formation Array blocked it.

The fight was over.

Kyle looked at the Unique Sage, waiting for his comment.
