Chapter 479 Metal and Wind

Understanding filled Kyleʼs mind as he created the Law of Wind.

Comprehending a Law felt fundamentally different from understanding a Fragment.

When someone understood a Fragment, they were stuck with their own understanding.

Yet, when someone comprehended a Law, it was like the world was filling in the missing gaps.

The different logical constructs Kyle had created in his mind to understand the different parts of wind were slightly altered to perfectly represent how wind worked.

It was like Kyle only needed to understand 95% of a Law to condense it, and the world would give him the remaining 5%.

Some parts of Kyleʼs understanding were made less complex, while others were made more complex.

ʼI thought this was only a coincidence when I comprehended the Law of Metal,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼBut now, the same thing is happening. New knowledge is just appearing in my mind.ʼ

ʼHow does that work? How can the world send knowledge into my mind?ʼ

ʼIs this really a natural phenomenon? Probably not.ʼ

Kyle furrowed his brows. ʼIf it isnʼt, it means that itʼs an artificial phenomenon.ʼ

ʼYet, it works on the fundamental basis of how the world works. I donʼt think some powerful guy noticed that I learned a Law, looked at me, and corrected my understanding. Iʼm pretty certain this is an automatic process.ʼ

ʼHowever, this automatic process had to have been created by someone.ʼ

ʼThe automatic process works on the basis of how the Elements, Laws, and understandings work. This means someone must have either changed how these things work or created these things themselves.ʼ

Kyle looked at the sky.

ʼDoes this mean someone has created this entire world?ʼ

ʼWas everything created by someone?ʼ

Kyle took a deep breath.

ʼMaybe, but I canʼt tell for sure. Who knows? Maybe nature is just that crazy. Or maybe the understanding comes from some part of my genes or something. I dunno. Iʼm not a biologist.ʼ

ʼWell, anyway, who cares?ʼ Kyle thought as he smirked.

ʼI have the Law of Wind now, and this thing is pretty strong!ʼ

Kyle put on his heaviest set of armor and moved towards the west.

BANG!

He used a bit of Ether and managed to reach terrifying speeds.

In the past, the fastest speed his Law Spark could grant him was around five kilometers per second. If he wanted to go even faster, he needed to get rid of his armor and use Ignition. With that, he could reach speeds of about 7.5 kilometers per second.

But now, he reached a speed of ten kilometers per second in an instant.

ʼJust sucks that I have to use some Ether,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼMy Law Spark wasnʼt upgraded when I learned the Law of Wind, which means, if I donʼt want to use Ether, Iʼm still stuck with five kilometers per second.ʼ

ʼAt least it barely costs any Ether. Thanks to the Fragment of Wind Expansion, I can use far more Ether without having to pay extra.ʼ

Kyle zoomed around the Twilight Duchy at brutal speeds, zipping back and forth.

ʼThe good thing is also that I donʼt have a limit anymore when it comes to my acceleration and deceleration. I just need to spend a bit of Ether every time.ʼ

As Kyle shot past a mountain, he summoned several tiny cuts of wind.

BANG!

The mountain crumbled into pieces as Kyle laughed.

Then, he stopped in the middle of the sky and summoned several powerful lances made of Wind Ether.

All of them shot into the ground, creating thin holes that extended for almost five kilometers into the ground.

ʼI guess thatʼs how someone would fight if they understood the Law of Wind,ʼ he thought with a smirk. ʼThey would move around at incredible speeds while unleashing countless focused attacks.ʼ

ʼItʼs kind of freeing, fighting like this. I feel a bit like a bird. I can take whatever fight I want, but I donʼt have to take fights I donʼt want. After all, whoʼs going to catch me when Iʼm this fast?ʼ

At that moment, Kyle got an idea and stopped using his Law of Wind.

He landed on the ground, his landing destroying the surrounding 50 meters due to his sheer weight.

With his armor and hammer, Kyle looked like an unstoppable titan as he slowly ran forward.

He swung his hammer once, and the wind the swing created uprooted all the surrounding trees.

ʼThis is how someone with the Law of Metal would fight,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼIʼm slow. My attacks are slow. I canʼt choose which fights I enter.ʼ

Kyleʼs armor glistened in the sun.

ʼBut who cares? Who is going to get through this armor? Send as many people as you want, it wonʼt make a difference!ʼ

Kyle imagined how someone with the Law of Wind would fight someone with the Law of Metal.

The results were interesting.

The one with the Law of Metal wouldnʼt be able to catch up with the enemy, making it impossible to win.

However, the one with the Law of Wind wouldnʼt have enough pure power to even scratch their enemyʼs armor.

Wind unleashed many fast and focused attacks, but their power was not as strong.

Sure, by launching an attack from a distance and using the Fragment of Wind Expansion, they could create a terrifying storm, but that power was unfocused and still wouldnʼt be able to injure the enemy.

Neither enemy would be able to kill the other.

The fight would just end inconclusively.

ʼAs long as they are not willing to risk their own lives,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼIt would be all up to the guy with the Law of Wind.ʼ

ʼBy getting closer, the guy with the Law of Wind can augment their weapon with their wind powers, maybe gaining enough power to penetrate the armor.ʼ

ʼOr, they simply use a bow and arrow.ʼ

ʼBut then, the guy with the Law of Metal would be able to regenerate their armor under all of the attacks, and what if they also use a bow and arrow?ʼ

ʼThere are actually a ton of different attacks and counters both sides can do.ʼ

Kyle scratched the back of his head.

ʼI guess it depends on the individuals.ʼ

Kyle smirked and shot into the sky at terrifying speeds while still wearing his armor.

ʼBut who cares? Iʼve got the power of both of them!ʼ

ʼSupreme speed and supreme defense!ʼ

The next moment, Kyle looked at the ground.

ʼAnd soon, I will also have supreme offense!ʼ
