Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

Chapter 168: 168 Courting disaster by one’s actions

”Junior Sister Mo Qing, don’t blame your senior brother for not warning you—if you try to force the detoxification, you might end up harming yourself as well!”

Bi Luo, with a cold smile on his face, suddenly had a sense of anticipation. The words spoken seemed more like an excuse for himself than a piece of advice.

Although the Jade Pot Sect, under the dominance of that Great Power Sect Leader, has allowed the coexistence of Medical Pulse and Poison Vein, the two factions have always looked down upon each other due to different philosophies, and consequently, there has been no goodwill between their young disciples.

Mo Qing’s talent has always been a thorn in the side for the geniuses of the Poison Vein. Even Elder Fu Du, the Second Elder of Poison Vein, often mentions Mo Qing in front of Bi Luo and the others, clearly regretful that Poison Vein does not have a talent like hers.

Although it can be said that the eldest senior brother of Poison Vein also has extremely high talent, with his Cultivation and Meridian Refining Technique being no less than Mo Qing, he is much older than Mo Qing. In terms of talent alone, the two are incomparable.

Hence, at this moment, Bi Luo believes that Mo Qing’s reckless actions are an opportunity, an opportunity to eliminate the number one talent from the Medical Pulse.

It’s not that Bi Luo has poisoned Mo Qing; it’s the latter who insisted on acting to save a fellow disciple who had grievously harmed their own. If this were to be investigated, it would certainly not be Bi Luo’s fault.

Moreover, Bi Luo felt a secret excitement, thinking that if he could poison Mo Qing to death in such a situation and leave no excuse for Medical Pulse to find fault, he might even be credited with a great achievement by his master.

Bi Luo’s thoughts were somewhat excessive, but they weren’t unfounded. Mo Qing’s actions not only might fail to save Yun Xiao but might indeed end up endangering herself.

”Not good!”

As soon as Bi Luo’s words fell, Mo Qing, who had just pressed a point on Yun Xiao’s body, suddenly felt a burning energy surge into her from her fingertip, and she cursed quietly to herself.

Mo Qing was well acquainted with the nature of Bi-Fu Poison, although she did not know the exact formula. She was deeply aware of its toxicity, and she knew that this might truly be a case of what Bi Luo had described as ”self-immolation”.

However, due to Mo Qing’s kind-hearted nature, she entirely failed to anticipate that at this moment, Bi Luo harbored the intention to kill her. The moment the Bi-Fu Poison entered her body, she naïvely fostered a sliver of hope.

That hope was Mo Qing’s belief that Bi Luo might ignore an Outer Disciple like Yun Xiao, but he surely would not stand by and watch her die from the Bi-Fu Poison. Being poisoned might actually be a turning point.

”Bi Luo, aren’t you going to give me the Antidote?”

Mo Qing, retracting her right hand, saw at a glance the hint of green on her right index finger, the same deadly color that was on Yun Xiao’s face, and she immediately rebuked loudly.

In Mo Qing’s view, as long as Bi Luo gave her the Antidote, she could use it to first save Yun Xiao’s life. Then Bi Luo would definitely not allow her to die from the poison, surely providing a second dose of Antidote. In this way, the day’s events could be satisfactorily resolved.

Hearing Mo Qing’s words, Bi Luo seemed to be genuinely startled, and loudly exclaimed: ”Junior Sister Mo Qing, how could you be so careless? I will give you the Antidote right away!”

This statement significantly eased Mo Qing’s mind, while Xuan Zhi beside her had a dark expression—he had been hoping for both Yun Xiao and Mo Qing to die from the poison. Was the Second Senior Brother of Poison Vein too cowardly?

However, just when both Mo Qing and Xuan Zhi believed that Bi Luo was about to produce the Antidote, the Second Senior Brother only fumbled around at his Waist Storage, ultimately spreading his hands wide open.

”Oh no, I’m sorry, Junior Sister Mo Qing, I forgot to bring the Antidote for Bi-Fu Poison—what should we do now?”

Bi Luo’s face displayed a look of anxiousness, as if he had truly forgotten to bring the Antidote for Bi-Fu Poison, but both Mo Qing and Xuan Zhi immediately realized that he was putting on an act.

At this moment, Mo Qing and Xuan Zhi’s sentiments had both completely reversed—the hopeful Mo Qing’s face turned extremely dark in an instant, while Xuan Zhi, who had been cursing Bi Luo for his faint-heartedness a moment ago, now had a smile on his face.

It seems that Bi Luo aspired to achieve some purpose of his own without leaving room for blame—though the excuse of ”forgetting the Antidote” was clumsy, it was remarkably effective at this moment.

In fact, among these standout Inner Sect Disciples, which one did not have one or two Waist Storages on their person, with all important items carried with them at all times? How could they possibly ”accidentally forget” something like this?

However, at this point, Mo Qing had detected mockery in Bi Luo’s tone, realizing that this man not only intended to poison Yun Xiao to death but also to entrap her to die from Bi-Fu Poison—a truly ruthless scheme.

But the toxicity of the Bi-Fu Poison was so severe that, in just a short moment, Mo Qing felt her right forearm becoming numb, a clear sign that the poison had entered her body and was beginning to spread.

”Damn it!”

At this moment, Mo Qing finally felt some panic, especially after she activated her powerful Meridian Qi and continuously pressed several major acupoints on her right arm with her left hand, only to see that the effect was not very good, her face undoubtedly turned extremely ugly.

Right now, Mo Qing had given up hope on Bi Luo having a change of heart and providing the antidote. Moreover, she came to this Outer Sect courtyard secretly tonight, so her teacher couldn’t possibly know about the incident here, and rescue would certainly be too late.

In just a moment more, Mo Qing could clearly feel that her entire right arm had become numb, and perhaps before long, the Bi Corruption Poison would penetrate her brain and heart. By then, even if her teacher or the Sect Leader himself took action, it would be too late to save her.

This is the formidable aspect of a Poison Vein Master. Though Mo Qing’s Meridian Qi Cultivation was much higher than Bi Luo, it was because of this hereditary Bi Corruption Poison that Mo Qing, caught off guard, was now on the verge of dying a wrongful death.

In fact, if Mo Qing were to fight Bi Luo head-on, she would have been extremely cautious of his highly potent poison. Alas, in her haste to save Yun Xiao, she got caught by surprise and was now on the brink of losing her own life.

”Who would have thought that I, Mo Qing, would die alongside you today!”

Since neither Meridian Qi nor Medical Pulse Technique could suppress the spread of the Bi Corruption Poison’s toxicity, Mo Qing simply stopped struggling with it. When she turned her beautiful eyes to the boy beside her, still with a face full of greenish air, a strange feeling suddenly surged in her heart.

At this time, Mo Qing could see clearly that Yun Xiao, with his face full of greenish air, clearly exhibited symptoms of a severe poisoning affecting the brain. His condition was many times more serious than hers and he might suffer a painful death at any moment.

However, what Mo Qing didn’t see, and even the poisoner Bi Luo hadn’t noticed, was that Yun Xiao, despite being poisoned by Bi Corruption Poison for so long, still hadn’t cried out in pain; his body and state had remained unusually calm.

For a moment, the entire courtyard seemed to have fallen into a bizarre silence. As time ticked by, a touch of greenish air slowly crept onto Mo Qing’s fair and pretty face.

Both Bi Luo and Xuan Zhi, not far away, showed a trace of joy in their eyes when they saw this scene. One reveled in the imminent deadly outbreak of poison in Yun Xiao, a hatred being avenged; the other was thrilled with the prospect of poisoning the foremost talent of the Medical Pulse lineage.

Mo Qing’s despair had reached its peak. At this point, she had no intention of thinking about anything else and just gazed unblinkingly at the boy beside her.

”This guy actually looks quite handsome!”

Strangely enough, at this life-and-death juncture, such a ridiculous thought popped into Mo Qing’s mind, making her feel odd, and her face blushed slightly as if it dispelled some of the poisonous green.

And just as Mo Qing was in a daze, she suddenly found that her extremely numb right hand was grasped firmly by someone, startling her so much that she instinctively tried to withdraw her hand.

However, Mo Qing, poisoned as she was, had very little strength to pull away, and that hand holding hers was very forceful, as if it had no intention to let go.

Although Mo Qing’s right hand was numb, she could still feel the thickness of that hand. It was certainly a man’s hand which made her feel a flicker of indignation.

Mo Qing had always been of a cold disposition, scaring away men and even women who tried to approach her with her frosty face.

Since Mo Qing was a young lady, the only man who had touched her skin was her father; no other man had, and yet now, a man’s hand was holding her entire right hand.

Thinking about this, Mo Qing found inexplicable strength surging within her as her Meridian Qi flowed. She was just about to pull her hand free when she heard a familiar voice: ”Don’t move!”

To Mo Qing, whose senses were somewhat dulled by the intense poison, this voice was crystal clear - it belonged to Yun Xiao, the man she had begun to have some unusual thoughts about.

For some reason, upon hearing those two words from Yun Xiao, this proud and aloof girl, who always regarded men with disdain, actually heeded the words and remained still.

”Hmm?”

The next moment, Mo Qing had no thoughts to spare on other matters, for she suddenly found that the Bi Corruption Poison, which was about to invade her heart and brain, was being devoured by a mysterious force, gradually leaving her body.

Regaining her senses, how could Mo Qing not know what was happening? A vivid realization flashed through her mind, and her face showed intense amazement — she knew that both she and Yun Xiao might be saved this time.

”How could I have forgotten about this?”

As this thought surfaced in Mo Qing’s mind, Bi Luo and Xuan Zhi, who were not far away, also noticed that something was amiss, and their expressions instantly darkened.
