“With this Dao-Protecting Artifact, there are probably few beings in the entire Universe who can fight me.” Yu Zi Yu chuckled. His heartstrings had always been taut, but now, he finally felt relaxed.

While the Dao-Protecting Artifact upheld the meaning of ‘protecting the Dao,’ its power was also equally fearsome. And a Compound Dao-Protecting Artifact like Yu Zi Yu’s was especially unpredictable and extraordinarily strange.

Now, thanks to the Dao-Protecting Artifact—the Radiant Galaxy—Yu Zi Yu’s combat strength had at least increased by 40-50%.

A significant portion of this increase depended on the Dao of Formations. If he could comprehend some powerful Formations, the power of the Radiant Galaxy might increase exponentially.

*Huuuuuu…* Taking a deep breath and calming his racing heart, Yu Zi Yu immediately thought of Golden Monkey. [As the Scholar of Misty Mountains, he knows almost everything. He should have some knowledge of the renowned ‘Formations’ from the previous era.]

With this thought, Yu Zi Yu’s branches twirled through the Void Space, tearing through the space and heading towards a corner of Misty Mountains.

…

Meanwhile, in a corner of Misty Mountains, a huge waterfall, resembling the Milky Way, was falling from the sky. The lake and the mountains here were breathtakingly beautiful.

This was the territory of the Monkey Clan, and also the lair of Golden Monkey.

Suddenly, the distant waterfall shook violently before a streak of golden light smashed out of the waterfall.

“Master…” With a hint of respect, a golden figure knelt on one knee. Its fur was golden, dazzling and radiant. Its eyes were deep and mysterious, with star-like glimmers flowing slowly.

Clearly, Golden Monkey had reached a new level, and his strength had become even more formidable.

Meanwhile, countless rootlets intertwined, weaving into a slender figure. The figure had straight eyebrows, sharp eyes, and was wearing a green robe. It stood on a boulder not far from the waterfall, and exuded a profound and mysterious aura.

Faintly, one could feel the vitality surging from the boulder beneath him. Countless green shoots emerged on the boulder, blossoming into Spirit Herbs and Flowers.

In just a moment, the boulder had become lush and beautiful.

“Master, if you stayed here a bit longer, this place might become a paradise,” Suppressing his inner agitation and observing quietly, Golden Monkey joked.

“If you wish, I can stay here for a while.”

“Uh…” Yu Zi Yu’s reply caught Golden Monkey off-guard, and after noticing that Yu Zi Yu did not seem to be joking, he did not know how to reply.

However, he sensed that Yu Zi Yu had come with a request. With this in mind, he bowed his head and stated, “Master, if you have any questions, I will answer them all.”

“Alright.” Nodding slightly, Yu Zi Yu went straight to the point, without a moment of hesitation, “I’ve heard that Formations were very famous in the previous era. Do you know about them?”

“Formations, huh…” Golden Monkey murmured, his lips curling up as if he understood something.

He then responded, “The Dao of Formations is extremely profound… but broadly speaking, they are divided into three types: Mirage Formations, Offensive Formations, and Trap Formations.”

Saying this, Golden Monkey glanced at Yu Zi Yu.

“Continue…” Raising his hand, Yu Zi Yu, like a student, asked for more information.

“Alright, Master.” Nodding, Golden Monkey organized his thoughts and continued:

“Mirage Formations create illusions, blending the real with the unreal. They can manifest people’s greatest hopes or fears; or painful or joyful memories that trap a person in them. More advanced illusions can directly draw information from the Soul to reveal memories that even the person may not be aware of, hidden deep in the Soul. Everything in an illusion is as real as reality; even knowing it is an illusion doesn’t prevent one from falling into it. If the illusion finds the most vulnerable part of the heart, it can exploit it to create inner demons, leading to the destruction of the Soul.”

“Offensive Formations focus on killing enemies. They are filled with murderous intent, and can be quite destructive.”

“As for Trap Formations, they aim to confine the enemy, usually having numerous restrictions and can absorb the energy of those who try to break the Formation, weakening their strength and preventing them from escaping.”

Listening quietly, Yu Zi Yu’s face showed a look of understanding. This aligned with his understanding of Formations, with no significant differences.

However, just then, Golden Monkey added, as if he had remembered something, “Although Formations are classified simply, stacking the same type of Formation can exponentially increase its power; combining different types of Formations allows their abilities to complement each other. By continuously stacking, one can set up extremely formidable Formations that are daunting to behold. Some of these powerful Formations can even put Hegemons and Eternals in quandary.”

Yu Zi Yu’s eyes lit up after hearing this, and he actively inquired, “Do you know about these powerful Formations?”

*Ha ha…* Golden Monkey broke into laughter, seemingly a bit of himself, before responding, “In my inheritance, there are indeed numerous records of these powerful Formations. For example, the Three Books Guardian Formation, which is formed by the Three Books of Heaven, Earth, and Man, offers near-invincible defense. Another example is the Five Flags Formation of Heaven and Earth, an extremely terrifying Compound Formation that integrates Trap, Offensive, and Mirage Formations…

“There is also the most famous Formations, such as the Yin and Yang Microdust Formation, where each speck is a world, is the pinnacle of Trap Formations. It uses the Extreme Dao Imperial Artifact—the Tai Chi Diagram, as the Formation Core, and creates a vast world where nothing can escape.”

“Uh…” Upon hearing this, Yu Zi Yu’s expression gradually stiffened.

He wondered if it was his imagination, but it seemed that these powerful Formations all required specific items.

For instance, the Three Books of Heaven, Earth, and Man; the Five Flags; and even the Extreme Dao Imperial Artifact—the Taiji Diagram.

“Emmmm…” Feeling a wave of frustration, Yu Zi Yu’s expression darkened.

After a moment, he promptly interrupted Golden Monkey and inquired directly, “Don’t tell me these Formations all require…”

“Master, those are called Formation Cores. The more powerful the Formation, the stricter the requirements for the Formation Core. Therefore, in this era, the way of Formations has yet to emerge fully. Even if I know about these Formations, I cannot set them up. As for the lower-level Formations, they can be easily broken with a snap of the fingers, and they are useless to beings like us.”
