Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1742: Fourth Meeting With Yuan Xiajie

Since Tianshi Bailong still had many duties in the Dragon-Soaring Divine Domain, Zhang Fei [1] sent him back to the domain, and he replaced his real body to absorb the Yin Qi from the female Yin Demon.

”How long do you think this will take?”

Feng Yao smiled at the impatience on Zhang Fei’s face. ”According to my estimation, it will take you a week to completely absorb this female demon’s Yin Qi, and you will know the exact amount of her Yin Qi at that time. In my opinion, you should move her to your other space because the flow of time there is much faster, and Ling’er will help you to restrain her.”

”You’re right.” Zhang Fei opened a portal to the training space before sending his five clones, Huo Ling, and the female yin demon there. ”Senior Xukong, we will return to the Frozen Yin Domain, and you can wait for our return here.”

Long Xukong shook his head. ”I will go with you two to that domain, and I will use my void element to keep those yin demons away from us.”

”Alright then.”

Once the three of them returned to the Frozen Yin Domain, the previously thawed area had frozen again, and the bone-chilling cold mist had covered the area once more.

Zhang Fei used his primordial flame to keep the yin demons away from them, and Long Xukong directly enveloped the three of them with his void element. ”Let’s meet Yuan Xiajie.”

”Let’s go.” Feng Yao led Zhang Fei and Long Xukong to Yuan Xiajie’s hiding location in the center of the domain.

The Yin Demons, who were hiding in the mist, tried to attack them, but their attacks couldn’t penetrate Long Xukong’s void element. Apart from them, Zhang Fei and the others saw several other demons trying to attack them, and they fell into the category of ice demons.

”I’ve wanted to obtain the void element for a long time, but the location of the void elemental seed is too troublesome, and Bing Xingying isn’t strong enough to take me there.” Zhang Fei looked at Feng Yao. ”Can you take me to the void core?”

Feng Yao replied with a shake of her head. ”The void core is beyond my control because its location is beyond this universe, and Bing Xingying is the only one who can help you get there, so you have no other choice to wait for her to be ready.”

”Can I go to that place?” Long Xukong asked.

”You are the void dragon, but you still can’t reach the void core. Unlike you, Bing Xingying is the void spirit, and she can take my husband there in the future.”

”The void spirit, huh? Was she the one who helped you create the void barrier in your sect?”

Zhang Fei nodded. ”I had Zhe Wuming by my side, but he couldn’t create such a strong void barrier, so Bing Xingying helped me create one.”

”I see.” Long Xukong nodded in understanding. ”Is that woman still far from us?”

”A few miles ahead.”

”Okay.”

Yuan Xiajie, who was cultivating amidst the Nine Yin Soul Banner, opened her eyes when she sensed the presence of Zhang Fei and the others.

”This aura! There’s no mistake, this aura belongs to that hateful brat! Moreover, I also sensed two other auras by his side, and I feel familiar with one of them! How did he come to this realm?” Yuan Xiajie stood up. ”Tch! Since that hateful brat came here, I have to beat him black and blue because he stole all the female demons that I had prepared to smooth my ultimate goal!”

Yuan Xiajie looked around, frowning. If it weren’t for the Nine Yin Soul Banner, the demons in the domain would have attacked her the moment she arrived, so she didn’t dare to go out carelessly.

Just as Yuan Xiajie was thinking about that, Zhang Fei and the others had already arrived in front of the Nine Yin Soul Banner. She froze as soon as she saw Feng Yao, and her body trembled violently, remembering their two meetings several years ago. ’Shit! This hateful brat brought her here!’

”You seem afraid of me, Yuan Xiajie.” Feng Yao said with a smile.

’Tch!’ Yuan Xiajie gnashed her teeth as she glared hatefully at Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei looked at Yuan Xiajie with a relaxed smile. Although he still felt afraid of her, his fear was no longer as severe as it had been during their first meeting, which was thanks to the first soul challenge in the Tower of Eternity. In that challenge, he witnessed the destruction of the Ancient Nether Race, and he also saw the Nightmare Lord, Meng Zhuo. ”Long time no see, Yuan Xiajie. A little over six years have passed since our last meeting in the Endless Domain, and I came here specifically to look for you.”

”Hmm?” Yuan Xiajie raised an eyebrow, sensing that there was something different about Zhang Fei. During their last meeting in the Endless Domain a little over six years ago, she could see that he was afraid of her, but she couldn’t see his fear anymore. ”Why are you looking for me?”

”Three reasons.”

”Hmm?”

”First, I came to defeat you; otherwise, my fear of you will never completely disappear. Second, you messed with my woman, and you erased all her memories.” Yuan Xiajie wasn’t afraid of Zhang Fei, but she was afraid of Feng Yao. She knew for sure that the woman he was referring to was Wang Yin. ”Third, this Nine Yin Soul Banner was supposed to be mine, but you used my woman to snatch it from me.”

Yuan Xiajie frowned deeply after Zhang Fei mentioned the past incident. Back then, he brought Wang Yin to the Abyssal Domain, and he defeated all nine demons from the Nine Yin Soul Banner. Before he could take it, she controlled Wang Yin and snatched the banner from him, and she also took the female demon with her before erasing her memories.

”Humph!” Yuan Xiajie snorted. ”Do you think you can defeat me with your current strength? If that woman hadn’t appeared to save you from me, I would have killed you the moment we first met.”

”Your arrogance will ruin your life.” Yuan Xiajie was shocked as soon as Zhang Fei’s cultivation increased to the Celestial Venerable Realm. ”Do you think I still can’t defeat you?”

Yuan Xiajie stole a glance at Feng Yao, thinking that she was lending her strength to Zhang Fei. However, she dismissed the thought because she didn’t sense any movement of qi within the female phoenix’s body. ’How could he raise his cultivation that high? Did he use a special technique to do it?’

”I won’t interfere in the fight between the two of you today.” Feng Yao nonchalantly said.

Long Xukong didn’t understand Feng Yao’s reasons for not helping Zhang Fei. ”I won’t interfere in your fight either.”

”By the way, I’m sorry for the deaths of all the members of your Ancient Nether Clan.” Yuan Xiajie’s face darkened as soon as Zhang Fei mentioned the most painful memory of her life. ”You may not believe me, but I witnessed what happened that night, and—”

”Shut up!” Yuan Xiajie’s aura exploded instantly. ”Don’t ever mention members of my race with that foul mouth of yours! You don’t know anything about what happened that day!”

Zhang Fei shook his head slightly before creating a qi screen, which made Yuan Xiajie’s body stiffen. ”Do you believe me now? I got these memories by accident, and—”

”Shut up!” Yuan Xiajie was truly enraged, and a pitch-black aura enveloped her body. Gradually, her form transformed into her demon form, just like what Zhang Fei saw in the first soul challenge back then. ”At that time, I failed to kill you because of that woman, but I will not fail to kill you this time!”

Zhang Fei raised his right hand, and the primordial flame appeared above his palm.

Yuan Xiajie was shocked to see the flame, and she summoned the nine souls from the Nine Yin Soul Banner, ordering them to attack Zhang Fei.

”These souls are powerful, but they are useless before my flame.” Zhang Fei threw the flame, which immediately split into nine and struck the nine souls.

The nine souls released an eerie shriek, and they quickly vanished from sight, causing Yuan Xiajie to spit out a mouthful of blood. She was utterly shocked as Zhang Fei’s flames obliterated the nine souls that she had so painstakingly obtained in the blink of an eye.

Zhang Fei controlled the primordial flame and shot it towards the barrier created by the Nine Yin Soul Banner, forcing Yuan Xiajie to deactivate it and take the ancient artifact away from him. ’Shit! What kind of flame is that? Is that really the Eternal Flame? How did it fall into his hands?’

The demons inhabiting the Frozen Yin Domain tried to attack Yuan Xiajie after the barrier disappeared, but Zhang Fei hurriedly threw the primordial flame in his hand, forming a large circle on the ground that forced them back.

Zhang Fei landed a little distance in front of Yuan Xiajie. ”Honestly, I never hated you for what you did to me when we first met, but I was furious because you messed up Wang Yin’s memories several times. Even though she was an undead demon, she was my woman, and you erased her memories with me. Even though our memories weren’t many, they were all precious to us.”

”Humph!” Yuan Xiajie stored the banner into her storage ring, and two pitch-black swords appeared in both hands. ”Since you came to challenge me, I will kill you today!”

”Do you think you can kill me now?”

”You will surely die by my hands!”

”Let’s fight then.”
