Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1712: Forbidden Dual Cultivation Techniques

”The Yin-Yang Suppression Art.”

Feng Yao explained to Zhang Fei the details of the technique.

The Yin-Yang Suppression Art is an ancient technique that manipulates the opposing qi of yin and yang. In the first stage, the user can weaken soul attacks, seal cultivation, and disrupt elemental techniques.

As the second stage, the user can release waves of alternating cold yin qi and scorching yang qi, creating a powerful pressure that crushes weaker opponents in both body and soul. Yin qi freezes meridians and slows movement, while yang qi ignites blood essence and shakes defensive barriers.

In the final stage, the user can create a massive Yin-Yang Suppression Domain, where all qi within the area is forcibly weakened. Within the domain, all enemy techniques lose stability, and everything is suppressed under the overwhelming pressure of Yin-Yang.

”There are only three stages, huh?” Zhang Fei muttered to himself. ”I feel that the first stage of the technique isn’t very useful, but the second and third stages are quite useful.”

Feng Yao nodded at him. ”The first stage of this technique isn’t that useful to you because you have many techniques with similar effects, and they are much better than this technique. Even so, this technique is still worth learning, and it might be useful to you in the future.”

”Alright, I’ll learn it.” Zhang Fei rolled up the scroll and put it into the system inventory, and his clones could learn it in the pavilion. He also kept the Taiji Formation Array, but he was still confused about where to install the formation. ”This place is a mess, and many techniques have been destroyed by the past disaster, making them unreadable.”

”Haha,” Feng Yao laughed softly. ”This place was once a paradise for dual cultivators, but all that remains now are ruins of its former glory. There aren’t many techniques left here, so I think you can keep them all and put them in your sect’s library, and they might be useful for your sect’s future.”

”That’s true.” Zhang Fei waved his hand, and all the technique scrolls floated up on their own. He used his senses to examine all the intact techniques and separate them from the destroyed ones, storing them in the system inventory. ”Where do they keep the Yin Sacrifice Art and the Yang Sacrifice Art, Yao’er?”

”Follow me.” Zhang Fei followed behind Feng Yao until they arrived in front of a hole leading to an underground chamber with stone steps leading down. ”All the techniques outside are ordinary , and they keep their forbidden techniques under there, including the Yin Sacrifice Art and the Yang Sacrifice Art.”

Feng Yao and Zhang Fei immediately walked down the stairs. ”Did they have many forbidden techniques in the past?”

”Not really.” Feng Yao shook her head. ”If I remember correctly, they had five forbidden techniques. Mo Shentian was truly foolish because he didn’t learn all of them, and he only chose to study the Yin Sacrifice Art.”

”Five forbidden techniques?” Zhang Fei’s brows knitted together.

Feng Yao nodded at him. ”Besides the Yin Sacrifice Art and the Yang Sacrifice Art, there are three other forbidden techniques, and one of them is truly terrifying.”

”Do you know anything about that technique?”

”Are you thinking about learning it?”

”You know that I never cared whether they were evil techniques or not, right? As long as they were useful for improving myself and fighting all my enemies, I would definitely learn them.”

Feng Yao could only shake her head. ”Since your evil nature is already overwhelming, you won’t have any problems learning those evil techniques. However, innocent people will change if they learn those evil techniques, and they will eventually turn into evil cultivators.”

”Does that mean I’m evil in your eyes?”

”Aren’t you evil?” Feng Yao gave him a side glance. ”In the eyes of other cultivators, you may not seem evil, but I understand you far better than they do, so I can tell that you are an evil cultivator.”

”Hahaha,” Zhang Fei laughed. ”I’m not really an evil cultivator, right? I’m kind-hearted, patient, and merciful, okay?”

”I admit that you are kind and patient, but you are not a merciful person, and you are truly ruthless.” Zhang Fei smiled upon hearing that. ”Sometimes I think that you are even more ruthless than I am, and all your actions towards your enemies are simply too terrifying.”

Zhang Fei lifted his right hand and clenched his fists. ”My principle is that I will be kind to those who are kind, and I will always be ruthless towards all my enemies. Many people are willing to forgive their enemies, but I cannot do the same because forgiving them would only lead to endless trouble for me; therefore, I prefer to kill them directly to avoid future headaches.”

”If all cultivators acted like you, the population of this universe would surely be small. After all, there are countless evil cultivators in this universe, and they always bring trouble to others.”

”That’s true.” Zhang Fei nodded in agreement. ”Wouldn’t that be much better, Yao’er? If the population of this universe were reduced to a small amount, the universe would be much more peaceful, right?”

Feng Yao could only shake her head. ”Compared to those evil cultivators, you are far more evil and vile than them, husband.”

”Hahaha,” Zhang Fei laughed. ”As long as they don’t bother me or those closest to me, I will never bother them, let alone kill them.”

After walking down for some time, Zhang Fei and Feng Yao finally arrived at a fairly large underground chamber, where they saw a stone table with four technique scrolls neatly arranged on it.

Zhang Fei saw a technique scroll open on the ground; he immediately took it and brushed off the dirt. ”This must be the Yin Sacrifice Art, right?”

”Hmm?” Feng Yao walked to his side and read the technique. ”You’re right; this is the Yin Sacrifice Art. What are you going to do with this technique? Are you really going to burn it?”

”Well? I’ve memorized the details of this technique just by reading it once, so I’ll burn this scroll, and no other cultivators will be able to learn it in the future.” Zhang Fei did not hesitate to burn the scroll to ashes, and he took another technique afterward. ”The Yang Sacrifice Art! Female cultivators use this technique to turn male cultivators’ bodies into their cultivation furnaces. What did those ancients really think? Why did they create such techniques in the past?”

Feng Yao immediately explained to him, ”Those people were aware of the existence of realms higher than the Five Celestial Realms, but they had no clear information about those stages. That’s why they created the Yin Sacrifice Art and the Yang Sacrifice Art, and they hoped that both techniques could help them reach the next realm. Unfortunately, their efforts were fruitless, as they would never reach the next stage in this realm, and the past disaster destroyed their sect.”

”I still don’t understand why the Ancients couldn’t reach the Three God Realms, Yao’er. Was it because of you or those hidden forces?”

”I am the embodiment of the core of this universe, but I can do nothing to prevent them from reaching the Three God Realms.”

”So, those hidden forces are deliberately preventing them from reaching the Three God Realms?”

”That’s right.” Feng Yao nodded. ”Those hidden forces hold complete control over this universe, and they adjusted everything after the destruction of the Primordial Era to prevent a repeat of that incident. Unfortunately, their actions were useless, and all the living beings after the primordials have the same attitude as their predecessors.”

”I’m curious to meet those hidden forces, especially the heavens, who have repeatedly tried to kill me.” Zhang Fei burned the scroll of the Yang Sacrifice Art before taking another scroll from the stone table. ”What technique is this? Why doesn’t it have a name?”

”It’s the Yin-Yang Essence Devouring Technique, and its principles are almost identical to your Life-Force Absorption Ability and Essence Absorption Technique.” Zhang Fei furrowed his brows. ”Your two techniques are used to absorb living beings’ life force and beast essence, and this technique is used to devour the Yin-Yang Essence of other living beings.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding. ”Basically, this technique is similar to Ursula’s Devouring Art and the Demon Absorbing of the Netherworld Demon Scripture.”

”You’re not wrong about that, but this Yin-Yang Essence Devouring Technique is far more terrifying than those two techniques.” Feng Yao read the scroll before continuing. ”You can learn this technique if you want, but I’m not sure it will be useful to you.”

After reading the entire contents of the scroll, Zhang Fei immediately burned it so that no other cultivator could study it, except him. He took another scroll from the stone table and read it. ”Hmm? The Yin-Yang Cauldron Art? Why did this sect create techniques with almost the same effect?”

”You’re wrong about that, husband.” Zhang Fei looked at Feng Yao. ”The Yin-Yang Cauldron Art is almost similar to the Yin Sacrifice Art and the Yang Sacrifice Art, but this technique has a different effect from those two techniques.”

Zhang Fei immediately read the technique.

[The Yin-Yang Cauldron Art is a sinister forbidden dual cultivation technique that treats living cultivators as cauldrons used to refine yin and yang essence. This technique forcibly extracts vitality, qi cultivation, blood essence, and soul power from the partner to strengthen the user’s cultivation at a terrifying speed.]

”Treat living cultivators as living cauldrons,” Zhang Fei muttered to himself. ”This technique doesn’t seem sinister compared to the Yin Sacrifice Art and the Yang Sacrifice Art, but after reading the details, it’s far more sinister than those two techniques. While those two techniques only reduce lifespans, this technique reduces many things for its victims, including their cultivation.”
