The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 2071: Sword Emperor Lishu

Jing Yan could sense that the Ancient Tree Space now was somewhat different from before. He wasn’t one of the Ancient Tree Spirits, so he didn’t feel the Primordial Chaos Tree’s consciousness vibrations as strongly, but because he had been recognized by the Primordial Chaos Tree, he could feel a sense of sadness and despair in the Ancient Tree Space.

”What kind of crisis will it be?” Jing Yan furrowed his brows tightly.

He vaguely felt that the crisis facing the Primordial Chaos Ancient Tree Space this time was very likely related to the Dao Master behind the apostle he had slain. This crisis could only come from Beyond Chaos, as within Chaos almost all Devouring Heaven Clan creatures had been wiped out. Who else could threaten the Ancient Tree Space?

”Buzz!”

At this moment, a distinct vibration was sensed by Jing Yan and all the Ancient Tree Spirits.

In an instant, Jing Yan detected that the energy causing this vibration was coming from outside the Ancient Tree Space, but it wasn’t very far away.

”Let’s go out and see what’s going on!” Jing Yan said in a deep voice.

”Whish!” Jing Yan’s figure lightly flickered.

Hundreds of Ancient Tree Spirits followed closely behind Jing Yan. Inside the Ancient Tree Space, Ancient Tree Spirits could teleport freely, so even those with slightly lower strength could keep up with Jing Yan.

In just a moment, Jing Yan and these Ancient Tree Spirits were outside the Ancient Tree Space.

Some blurry scenes ahead came into view.

Jing Yan saw that a petite black-clad woman was hovering in the void ahead. Around her body, a bizarre-shaped black short sword was orbiting. Because the woman’s back was towards Jing Yan, he couldn’t immediately see her appearance.

And further in the distance, there were seven figures. The leader of these, similarly, wore a long black robe, and his face seemed shrouded in a layer of mist, making it hard to discern his features clearly. Behind him were six life forms in brightly colored long robes.

In the void, there were intense residual energy fluctuations. Clearly, the black-clad woman had just clashed with those seven people further away. Jing Yan and the others had sensed the vibration in the Ancient Tree Space, which was caused by the combat between the black-clad woman and those people.

”Sword Emperor?” The Ancient Vine Elder mouthed two words.

”Hmm?” Jing Yan’s expression shifted slightly.

”It is indeed her!” Jing Yan mulled over the thought.

Although he hadn’t seen the black-clad woman’s face, a name had flashed through Jing Yan’s mind just now. It was in this Chaos, a title controller of extremely legendary status — ’Sword Emperor’!

This woman wasn’t an ancient title controller, but she similarly grew strong step by step from weakness, eventually mastering terrifying power beyond that of a title controller.

Jing Yan had previously heard rumors about Sword Emperor Lishu, but this was his first time seeing Lishu herself.

”Who are those people opposite the Sword Emperor?” Jing Yan fixed his gaze on the distant figures.

”Never seen them.” The Ancient Vine Elder shook his head, then his eyes suddenly widened, and he drew a breath with anger, saying, ”That person’s aura seems somewhat familiar. Yes, I remember that aura. When the master fell, I also sensed that aura. Damn! Damn! The master’s death must be related to that person!”

The Ancient Vine Elder glared angrily at the black-robed man.

The black-robed man was none other than Dao Master Rodger the Chaos Lord from Otherworldly Chaos, with six apostles under his command.

”It has come.” Jing Yan understood their identity soon after hearing the Ancient Vine Elder’s words.

He had slain one of those apostles in the Western Region Main Hall. That black-robed person at the forefront was likely the Dao Master referred to by the apostle. He didn’t know how strong this Dao Master truly was.

”Fortunately, they come from Beyond Chaos, subjected to restrictions by the Chaos Origin Will, limiting their power. Otherwise...” Jing Yan felt a bit grateful.

”Lishu girl, I know you. I noticed you long ago.” Rodger’s sinister voice emanated from the black robe Dao Master.

After Rodger spoke these words, Lishu offered no response, quietly standing there. Only, the bizarre black short sword encircling her swirled faster.

”You probably guessed my identity, right? After all, you count as one of the top life forms in this Chaos. Now, I give you an opportunity: submit to me, follow me, and I will grant you the status of an apostle. Once I consume this Chaos’s Primordial Chaos Tree and seize its Life Force, mastering this Chaos, I may reward you with a portion of Chaos Origin.” Rodger continued.

”You are clear on what rebellion will lead to. Where are the Ancient Tree Elder and that life form named Wan Hun now?” Rodger sneered.

Rodger had coveted this Chaos for a long time. To master this Chaos, he had been preparing all along. In order to control this Chaos, the countless Chaos creatures within it are his obstacles, his stumbling blocks. He cares not for weak life forms, but life forms like the Ancient Tree Elder, he has to take seriously, since within this Chaos his power can’t fully manifest.

He planned long and hard to slay the Ancient Tree Elder, eventually succeeding in his plan. Killing Ancestor Wan Hun was similar in nature. In fact, the title controllers he killed in this Chaos weren’t only the Ancient Tree Elder and Ancestor Wan Hun. But these two were among the strongest life forms he killed in this Chaos.

The Ancient Tree Elder’s power needs no further mention, and Ancestor Wan Hun’s power was also almost on par with the Ancient Tree Elder. According to communication within Chaos’s small circles, Sword Emperor Lishu’s strength was akin to Ancestor Wan Hun’s; she is a terrifying existence surpassing Ma Yi Ancestor and other ancient title controllers.

”I wasn’t initially inclined to intervene in any matters within Chaos.”

”But today, I had to reveal myself. Because I know, you came to seize this Chaos. Despite the defects, this Chaos, for better or worse, is my home. You want to take away my home, something I cannot endure. Therefore, I stand up to stop you. Even if my strength cannot stop you, I have decided to do so.” Lishu spoke, saying these words calmly.

Lishu’s voice was peculiar too, slightly hoarse, yet holding a distinct flavor.

”Stubborn and ignorant!” Rodger shook his head.

He sought Lishu’s submission as a passing notion. With six apostles entering this Chaos, there would be no one to stop him. Lishu’s submission or non-submission was irrelevant. Since Lishu chose not to submit, she should die; buried along with the other life forms in this Chaos!
