The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 652: Chapter 652: Choosing to Leave

Receiving the inheritance did not take too much time.

As soon as the extremely mysterious and complex energy flooded into Jing Yan’s mind, he felt a distinct change in his grasp of the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill.

It was not only the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill that changed, but also the Qiankun Pill Path and others, all gaining more information and integrating.

However, Jing Yan had yet to learn the Qiankun Artifact Dao. So, while receiving the second part of the inheritance related to the Artifact Dao, Jing Yan couldn’t directly understand this content.

Of course, this wasn’t too big of a problem.

As long as Jing Yan later studied the Qiankun Artifact Dao inside the Qiankun Ring, it would automatically integrate with the second part he received now, comfortably forming a more profound mental method for Artifact Dao.

Because he integrated too much information at once, Jing Yan also needed to spend some time digesting and organizing it.

Receiving information was simple, for Jing Yan’s Divine Soul was strong enough. But processing this information actually took him several hours.

When Jing Yan finished organizing the information, although he was prepared, shock still appeared in his eyes.

The legacy left by the owner of the Death Temple was led by the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill, with the Qiankun Pill Path and others being minor details. And the first thing Jing Yan prioritized in understanding was the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill.

When he mastered the two parts of the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill, Jing Yan was truly shocked.

Just the first part of the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill had already made Jing Yan exceptionally monstrous. Now, having acquired half of the legacy, Jing Yan’s understanding of the path of Martial Arts had reached an astonishing level.

Although Jing Yan had just reached the Daoist Emperor Realm, he now had a very clear sense that he would definitely be able to step into the Saint Realm in the future. He seemed to have already seen the path to the Saint Realm.

The Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill was terrifying!

Jing Yan changed his thoughts, the owner of the Death Temple was a Divine being. Based on Jing Yan’s current knowledge, this formidable Divine should come from the plane known as the God Realm. Jing Yan guessed that this Divine, even in the God Realm, was likely very powerful.

But there was one point that puzzled him, why did such a powerful Divine come to the Heavenly Origin Continent and leave behind a legacy?

”Jing Yan, have you received the second part of the inheritance?” Old Six looked at Jing Yan and asked.

”Yes!” Jing Yan responded.

”Very well! Now, let us discuss the matter of your choices.” Old Six suddenly turned serious.

”As I said earlier, the legacy left by our master was divided into four parts. Inside the Qiankun Ring is the first part. The second part is what Old Seven and I were guarding. The next is the third part, guarded by Fourth and Fifth.”

”Jing Yan, if you wish to obtain the third part of the legacy, you must defeat Fourth and Fifth,” Old Six said slowly.

Then Old Seven took over, ”Jing Yan, your strength is decent, managing to defeat Old Six and me is, to a certain extent, proof of your potential.”

”However... I still need to make it clear. Although you’ve defeated Old Six and me, with your current strength, defeating Fourth and Fifth is absolutely impossible.”

”When the master built the Death Temple and prepared to leave his legacy, he initially only intended to create five Golden Armor Guards, which are now Big Brother, Second Brother, Third Brother, Fourth Brother, and Fifth Brother – those five Golden Armor Guards.”

”Old Six and I shouldn’t have existed. Our birth was due to chance. The master prepared many materials, invested much effort and time, and created Big Brother and the other four Golden Armor Guards. After succeeding, he had a few materials left over, and feeling it wasteful to discard them, he casually created Old Six and me,” Old Seven explained, glancing at Old Six.

”Old Seven is right. Our strength is vastly different from Big Brother and the rest. Even Fourth and Fifth are far beyond what Old Seven and I can compare with. Fourth and Fifth could easily destroy the two of us.”

”Jing Yan, you can enter the Death Temple now and attempt to defeat Fourth and Fifth. You have this right.”

”But you must be cautious!”

”Fourth and Fifth are not as cooperative as the two of us. To be honest, from the beginning, we never intended to kill you. But Fourth and Fifth are different; if you’re not strong enough, you might be killed outright. Don’t think that just because you have the Qiankun Ring, you will be invincible.”

”While the Qiankun Small World is indeed a safeguard, the problem is, you need to have the opportunity to hide inside it. When facing Fourth and Fifth, I think you won’t have the chance to hide away in the Qiankun Small World,” Old Six and Old Seven explained in succession.

Jing Yan listened intently.

At the beginning, Jing Yan did indeed plan to try challenging Old Four and Old Five to see if he had the chance to secure the third part of the inheritance.

But now, Jing Yan had to be cautious.

There was clearly no need for Old Six and Old Seven to deceive Jing Yan. Since Old Six and Old Seven said as much, then Old Four and Old Five must indeed be extremely fearsome.

And even if he had the Qiankun Small World and could hide inside, how long would he have to stay there?

Ten years? Thirty years? Fifty years?

After a moment of thought, Jing Yan made a decision. For the time being, it was better not to enter the Death Temple to face Old Four and Old Five, two more powerful Golden Armor Guards.

Long before he defeated Old Six and Old Seven, Jing Yan knew that after beating Old Six and Old Seven, he could choose to leave the Death Abyss and return to the outside world.

Therefore, he decided to leave the Death Abyss first. When his strength was sufficient in the future, he would come back to defeat Old Four and Old Five to obtain the next part of the inheritance; there was absolutely no need to rush.

”The two of you, if I choose not to enter the Death Temple now, will I have the opportunity to enter it later?” Jing Yan asked.

”Naturally,” Old Six and Old Seven said in unison.

”Then... may I leave the Death Abyss now?” Jing Yan asked with a glint in his eye.

”Correct, if you wish to leave now, we can activate the Death Temple’s Transmission Array to send you away from the Death Abyss,” Old Six confirmed with a nod.

”Jing Yan, it seems you have made your choice. I must say, it’s a sensible one. If you truly entered the Death Temple now, I can tell you, you would have a ninety-nine percent chance of dying immediately,” Old Seven continued.

”Fourth and Fifth don’t care whether you’re the Inheritor of the master’s legacy. After all, the master’s legacy is here, and even if you die, new Inheritors will come in the future. We’ve been waiting here for tens of thousands of years; waiting another few tens of thousands of years makes no big difference to us. We are puppets with no limit to our lives.”

”I can tell you, you’re not the first to receive the inheritance. The most recent before you came over four thousand years ago; someone also unlocked the Qiankun Ring’s Seal and received the first part of the legacy. However, he wasn’t as lucky as you are; he died without even meeting us, the Golden Armor Guards,” Old Seven said, grinning.
