The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 410: Chapter 410: Assassin

An Chuxue couldn’t help but look at Han Jing, held back for a while, and asked, ”Mirror, can you honestly tell me, what exactly did you do before? Why do I always feel that you’re quite silly, yet you possess a heart strong beyond imagination?”

Honestly, she had met patients from all walks of life, all kinds of people, and the hospital is the place most revealing of life’s facets. What she saw most was them losing control, breaking down, especially when facing desperation, feeling the world was meaningless anymore, even the calmest person would cry hysterically and lose their mind when facing unbearable situations.

But having known Han Jing for so long, she really had never seen her lose her mind over anything. Usually, she seemed innocent and a bit cute, but once things happened, she became calm like a different person, which was simply unbelievable to her.

Han Jing raised an eyebrow and leisurely uttered two words: ”Assassin.”

”Ah—” An Chuxue was instantly petrified.

”You’re kidding me, right?” Come on, the dazzling, cold, and beautiful superstar on screen, how could she possibly have anything to do with being an assassin?

”When I was very young, I started being hunted down, my family was broken, and I was alone in exile for over a year, then taken back to the assassin organization, starting to be an assassin, wandering for many years. Eventually, when I planned to join an international agent group, I was betrayed and died.” As Han Jing spoke about these things, it was as calm as narrating someone else’s story. In just half a year of arriving here, she had unknowingly and completely integrated into this new life, her past felt suddenly dreamlike.

The only thing unchanged is her ambition. She is never content with the status quo, she must keep herself always alert, standing in a position she believes is sufficiently safe, only then can she be at ease.

To put it plainly, she’s someone highly lacking in a sense of security, hence she must force herself to go higher and further, utterly controlling her life in her own hands.

An Chuxue was stunned; she really thought Han Jing was joking with her, thought she was teasing, but unexpectedly... what she said wasn’t a joke at all.

”So... is that why you’re often alone?” An Chuxue finally reacted after a while, recalling the past evaluation of Han Jing in the entertainment circle: there had never been such a reclusive star seen, she seemed friendless, even her assistant often couldn’t reach her, never saw her share the stage with anyone, exceptionally nonconformist.

Turns out... she isn’t antisocial; she truly cannot socialize.

Han Jing nodded, regarding the identity that hid her true self, she both loved it and felt helpless, yearning to maintain it well, wanting to meet more people, to live a normal life like them, but she doesn’t dare. A misstep would mean utter ruin, so she can only force herself to remain absolutely calm in such a noisy world.

An Chuxue originally thought assassins were particularly cool, with someone like Han Jing’s dual identity, as depicted in novels, would be a noble, cold, mysterious, and enticing character, making people endlessly fantasize. But hearing it now, indeed it’s not cool at all, rather it’s truly heart-wrenching, how lonely such a life must be.
