Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1153: Chapter 1154: Falling Ill from Anger

After hanging up the phone, Father Qi started scolding Mother Qi, calling her things like pig-brained and muddle-headed, all at once.

”The idea of letting the two kids divorce, you can even say that? Why don’t you just fly up to the sky? In this whole village, you’re the only one hoping for the kids to divorce, you foolish old woman.” Father Qi roared in anger.

”How did I do wrong? This borrowing money, what do you think it is, more than a hundred thousand, does she have the ability to pay it back?” Mother Qi shouted back loudly.

”If they have the ability to borrow, they have the ability to pay it back. It’s not for anything bad; it’s to buy land for investment. You short-sighted person, don’t think everyone is like you. Can the future compare to now? Can now compare to before? In the past during the famine years, even grass roots weren’t enough to eat. Did you ever imagine you’d be eating meat every day now?” Father Qi coldly sneered repeatedly.

Mother Qi was left speechless.

”Society will develop, times will advance. Can today’s Great Unity RMB compare to the steel coins of the past? Now can’t compare to the future. You’re unable to think of this, you’re really a muddle-headed fool, no wonder you have such little achievement!” Father Qi continued, ”I’m telling you, whatever the couple wants to do, I forbid you from interfering. If you dare whisper here and there, you might as well go stay with your elder sister. You two sisters can accompany each other!”

”You, you...” Mother Qi was so angry her mouth was crooked and her eyes turned, and her heart twisted in pain.

There was no place for her in this home, nor a place for her to speak up!

Mother Qi plopped down to the ground, wailing loudly, scaring Xiao Bao to tears as well.

Father Qi held his grandson in his arms and said, ”If you want to cry, then go live in the old house; just roll up your bedding and you can leave!” He said this while walking out with the child, unwilling to look at the foolish woman anymore.

Mother Qi cried even louder.

Meanwhile, over at Qi Taiguo’s side, Cheng Su ran after Qi Taiguo asking, ”So, what did Dad say?”

”With me handling it, do you think they won’t listen?” Qi Taiguo said with a self-satisfied smile, ”Dad said not to worry about it, whatever we want to do we should just go ahead and do it, don’t worry about what Mom thinks.”

”What about splitting the property...”

Qi Taiguo sighed, ”I was just saying, right now, Jianguo and them are still young, it won’t happen.”

Cheng Su didn’t care either; whether they split it or not, she didn’t live with the in-laws anyway, and it’s not like it’s the Qing Dynasty where the money she earns has to be given to the mother-in-law to manage.

The money is in her own hands, so whether they split the property or not, who can take it from her easily?

”I just fear that in the future, your mom will dislike me more and more.” Cheng Su pouted.

”Then hurry up and give her a big fat grandson, wouldn’t that settle things? If she doesn’t want to look at the daughter-in-law, she’ll look at the grandson instead!” Qi Taiguo joked.

Cheng Su glared, ”I’m not a sow!” She touched her belly and said, ”I don’t even know if there’s any this month, I’ll find out in a few days.”

She felt more disappointment than hope and didn’t think much of it, because she sensed the child hadn’t taken root yet.

”You’re worrying for nothing again. If it’s not this month, we’ll try again. If not next month, then the month after that. Trying every day, it’ll definitely happen!” Qi Taiguo smiled and comforted her.

Cheng Su nodded and smiled faintly.

A few days later, due to the stress and arguing with Father Qi and Taiguo, Mother Qi’s mind was unsettled and after overthinking, she finally fell sick.

The news was brought by Qi Fenglian, who happened to be using her vacation to visit the two kids. Cheng Su gave her fifty yuan to take back as a gesture of goodwill as a daughter-in-law.
