Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1152: Chapter 1153: Separation Is Also an Option

Mother Qi didn’t expect her goodwill to be met with such a firm rebuttal from her son, and she was momentarily stunned and speechless.

”Mom, don’t talk about dragging down the Qi family. This money is something my wife and I want to borrow, and we’ll be the ones to pay it back,” Qi Taiguo said in a very cold tone: ”Mom, if you think we’ll drag down the Qi family, then splitting the family is fine. This way, our debts won’t be related to the family and won’t affect Jianguo and the others.”

Split the family!

”What did you say? Split the family!” Mother Qi almost screamed: ”You said split the family? Are you crazy!”

Father Qi came in holding Xiao Bao from outside the house. He had taken him to someone else’s wedding banquet today, and had just returned, only to hear Mother Qi screaming about splitting the family. What had happened now?

Qi Taiguo was also quick to suggest the words ”split the family,” not really thinking it through. After all, he was the eldest son, and his younger siblings were not yet adults. Even if they were to split the family, it would be after Jianguo got married and started his own family.

In the countryside, isn’t this how it usually is? Children start their own families before splitting off.

But exceptions do exist. If the old mother feels that he and his wife would drag down the Qi family, then splitting the family is fine. In any case, they would still support and help with the younger siblings’ education costs!

The more Qi Taiguo thought about it, the more feasible he found it.

”Even if we split the family, we won’t cut back on living expenses for the family. In the future, we’ll also take on Jianguo and Fengping’s education expenses, so you won’t have to worry. If they get married later and we have the ability, we’ll help! Mom, if you think this is feasible, I’ll talk to Dad!” Qi Taiguo said calmly.

Beside him, Cheng Su was surprised to hear this, looking at him in astonishment. It was unexpected for him to come up with this idea, and she couldn’t help but listen with interest.

What would her mother-in-law choose?

But what Cheng Su heard next was Mother Qi’s loud shouting.

”Your dad and I are still alive and well, and you’re talking about splitting the family? No way. I know, is it Cheng Su, that little instigator, egging you on?” Cheng Su smacked her lips, feeling upset, and stopped listening.

Why was everything always blamed on her? Her mother-in-law might as well change her surname to Blame!

”It’s not Cheng Su pushing me; it’s my own idea. Mom, since you’re worried we’ll drag down the family, isn’t splitting the family a good solution?” Qi Taiguo said. ”Once we’re split, we won’t be a burden, and the money borrowed will be solely up to us!”

Mother Qi was momentarily at a loss for words. She didn’t want Cheng Su to borrow this money but never thought it would lead to a family split!

”What’s going on?” Father Qi asked.

Mother Qi immediately found her backbone and started crying: ”Old man, you came at the right time. It’s Taiguo; he wants to split the family, boohoo, this unfilial son!”

Father Qi took the phone: ”Taiguo? It’s Dad, what’s happening!”

Finally finding someone reasonable, Qi Taiguo explained in detail about their plan to borrow money and buy land in Guangcheng for investment. He also explained Mother Qi’s opposition and how she even threatened their marriage.

”...So, Dad, if you think we’ll drag down the family, splitting the family is also an option. Even if we’re split, we won’t cut back on living expenses for the family or the siblings’ education fees!”

Father Qi’s face was livid, and he glared fiercely at Mother Qi, who was crying sorrowfully at the side, and said: ”Taiguo, stop saying that. If you want to borrow, go ahead and borrow. Don’t mind your mother.”

Mother Qi looked up in shock, incredulous at the old man.
