The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 412: Fruits of Plans and Patience

”...” I gather up all the black sludge on my body as I fall to the ground after having teleported Amiya to prison.

ʼLucky herʼ I would have killed her for the inconvenience if I didnʼt have a contract with the stars, I may be all kinds of bad, but one thing I always do is keep promises and agreements.

I always faithfully say that if you do something, you should be ready to suffer the same, I kill and torture people being ready to also be killed or tortured.

And just as I give trust to others when making agreements, I expect them to give me the same trust if they donʼt want to get screwed.

”Pandora, that human is trying to seal you” Violet tells me as I start moving towards the distant tent.

”Oh? So thatʼs what Rosaline is doing, hidden in that tent” I figured it was a spell she was casting, not a seal.

”Can I break it?” I ask, calculating whether I should be cautious or if the fact that sheʼs making a seal doesnʼt matter.

”You can...but itʼs a very strong magical seal, youʼd be trapped inside it for a few years” She says as I think about it.

ʼSo itʼs not a seal using elements, or I could break it more easilyʼ I return to my normal form, Iʼve spent too much time in my true form and itʼs already becoming unstable, and I can lose control because of my huge hunger at the moment.

”Great, thanks for the warning, I think I know how to deal with this” I brush the dust off my dress as my tail moves slightly excited to see Rosaline.

”...” I enter the shadows, following the destroyed path that is completely empty because I devoured all the bodies nearby, although the war is still raging outside Rosalineʼs barrier.

As soon as I enter the tent, Iʼm forcefully pulled from the ground and the entire tent glows as I see Rosaline on top of a magic circle.

”Ha! I got you, demon king!” She says confidently and with a smile on her face, while I feel the seal working, it doesnʼt seem like a seal, if Violet hadnʼt warned me, I would have taken a while to notice and could really have been sealed.

”Pandora, do you need help?” Violet asks, seeing that Iʼm not ʼreactingʼ, but I am doing something.

”Donʼt worry, Violet, I have everything under control” I murmur to Violet.

”Very good, human, you seem happy, do you want a candy as a reward?” I mock Rosaline.

”Mock me all you want, demon king! You lost, inside this sealing circle you wonʼt be able to use magic for a few minutes, nor move! Youʼre too weak to break this magic either!” She speaks with absurd confidence in this plan, which is actually quite good.

I didnʼt think they would try to seal me, since the focus has always been to kill the demon king, so I thought that would always be the focus.

”Hmm...interesting perspective...but I didnʼt spend so much time making plans to lose in such a stupid way, right?” I say as I smile at her.

”You know, I didnʼt put insects in you just for decoration” Immediately the magic circle on the ground shatters, while Rosalineʼs mana drops to less than 15% of her original mana.

The barrier outside also cracks and completely fragments with a loud sound of the magic collapsing due to lack of mana.

”...” Her gaze goes through anger, shock, and then pure despair, and I deduce that her despair is because the system alerted her.

”H-How...i-itʼs impossible! I-Iʼm the saint! Y-You canʼt take my title! I-It was given to me by the goddess” She speaks with a weak voice as she falls to her knees on the ground with tears, looking into the void with a crying expression.

”You canʼt seal me if you have so little magic and no longer have the power of a saint, what a pity, Rosaline” I say, able to move again now that the seal broke before it was finished, and I soon approach her.

”W-What did you do!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!” She screams as she runs up to me, punching me, but itʼs so weak, so I slap her in the face, knocking her down.

”Titles given in this way have conditions and powers, the title of saint, for example, is given when a goddess chooses someone to be her ʼrepresentativeʼ and with the title you will gain an increase in power...as long as you fulfill the conditions.”

”Theyʼre pretty basic conditions, first being the race the goddess chose, and second worshiping the goddess to the end...you seem to have a great devotion to that bitch...but now youʼre not even human anymore.”

”Since youʼre no longer human, you canʼt have the title of saint, what a pity, you were so faithful to your goddess, but she betrayed you as soon as you were no longer suitable for her HAHAHAHAHA” I laugh at this pathetic girl who finally realizes.

Her goddess doesnʼt care about her, now that sheʼs not human, her goddess has discarded her like trash without caring about the loyalty sheʼs maintained for so long.

”...” She completely crumbles, falling to the ground in tears.

”For what do you think the insects inside your body were used? They were slowly modifying you from the inside, and stopped when the modification was around 99.9999%.”

”They were just waiting for my confirmation to transform you into something completely different on the inside” I look at her tears and look of pure despair.

ʼI guess this is how it feels to lose everything that matteredʼ Rosaline only had the title of saint as something valuable to her.

”Isnʼt it funny? You did everything for this title, and I took it from you so easily” I say, knowing she wonʼt understand, she helped them kill me, she conspired with the heroes to execute me when I was summoned, all that mattered to me at that moment was my life, and they even took that away from me.

Now I deliciously retaliate, taking away everything thatʼs important to Rosaline, her title, her title is everything that gives her power, authority and fame, without this title sheʼs just anyone with good magic.

”...” She quickly looks into my eyes and finally connects the dots.

”P-Pandora...” She speaks in an ugly, tearful tone, recognizing the fact that Iʼm talking about the insects in her body, something she already knows came from the Grand Duchess.

”Bingo, Iʼm Grand Duchess Pandora, fun, isnʼt it? I had many plans for this moment...and Iʼm loving every second of it” When I say this, she shivers and her eyes darken even more, losing any spark of hope that she could still have.

”...”

”Liked it? Itʼs interesting, isnʼt it? These insects that wander through your body, making it their nest, were slowly modifying it, every day you became less human without even knowing it.”

”It was really a fun game to play, though it required an annoying patience from me, but now Iʼm reaping the fruits of my patience, itʼs been almost two years since I put these plans into practice...yes, itʼs a good time.”

”...”

”Arenʼt you going to say anything? How boring, Rosaline, well, now that youʼre a broken toy, I guess I donʼt need you anymore” I wonʼt kill her, I have no interest in that, for her to live is worse than death in this situation.

”Y-You monster...” She gathers all her strength to speak.

”Hahaha, thank you for the compliment...well, I guess itʼs time for the little ones to come back” I say as the insects from the shadows begin to come out of her body, she chokes as dozens of them come out through her mouth, some also come out through her ears and any other free hole while they crawl to my shadow on the ground, entering it.

But not all of them come out, only 70% of them leave her body, the colony and Rosalineʼs body have become one, if they all come out, Rosaline will die since they now fulfill several functions of her body.

”...” I see Rosaline pull a knife from her clothes and quickly try to commit suicide by cutting her throat, but the blade breaks when it touches her neck.

”w-what...”

”You canʼt die, Rosaline, at least not easily, the little ones who use you as a dwelling donʼt want to die just because you want to die, I can assure you, killing yourself will be very difficult” The insects, now that they are no longer limited to moving slowly because I no longer want to hide them, have started moving quickly.

I can see the marks on Rosalineʼs skin where they crawl freely, trying to keep her alive, Rosaline looks at her body where she can see the path they crawl.

”Thatʼs kind of gross” I say, mocking her situation, she must also be feeling some degree of pain since they are working normally instead of that extremely slow pace.

”H-Hick...” She just falls to the ground crying, it seems she has given up on everything.

”I know all your capabilities, and now youʼll only live because in the end I let you, from this world now I am the law and no one else will stop me” I say to humiliate her even more, Iʼve moved in the shadows for so long precisely for this.

Without heroes, this world is destined to become mine, and Iʼll make sure that happens as soon as possible.

”I wish you good luck in your life, Rosaline” I say, bending down and throwing a bag of coins near her.

”Charity for you, youʼll need it since the church wonʼt accept an aberration like you, of course, that doesnʼt matter because soon the human church will crumble” I say, giving her money.

In the past, she paid me to go away, and now Iʼm paying her just to humiliate her even more for depending on the charity of the enemy who ruined her life.

”Pandora, youʼre really cruel” Violet tells me without any interest, remorse or guilt, itʼs more of a statement.

”Yes, Violet, Iʼm terribly cruel, now shall we kill some humans? I still want to have fun, and now that Iʼve gotten rid of the saint, the human army wonʼt have healing and buff support anymore” I say as I start to leave the tent, ignoring Rosaline, who lets out a scream of pure despair.

What sheʼll do with her life doesnʼt matter to me, but I made it clear to the demons not to kill her, so sheʼll be able to get out of the battlefield alive.

ʼWell, if she can destroy her own head, she should be able to dieʼ Other than that, she probably wonʼt die since her organs are now practically 100% useless because the shadow insects take care of those functions.

”Pandora, you have a strange, satisfied smile, why does humiliating that human and not killing her satisfy you? Youʼve always preferred to kill and torture others, honestly, youʼre so confusing” Violet speaks in an arrogant tone with me.

”...You wouldnʼt understand, Violet...and I also donʼt want to ever talk to anyone about it...maybe with my mother who already knows, but only her” I donʼt want to talk about my failed past.

To me, that life has nothing to do with this life, that person died and ceased to exist, only my mother knows this fact, and if she wanted to talk about it, I would, but other than her, Iʼll never tell anyone that I used to be a summoned human hero.

”Now letʼs have some fun” I say, stretching while my tail moves in a way that shows my satisfaction at the moment.
