Villain: Manipulating the Heroines into hating the Protagonist

Chapter 14 Motivational Speech

Ling Wei stepped forward and spoke, ”You have my gratitude, your highness, for sticking to your schedule and visiting this poor orphanage once a week. The previous stock of breads was about to be exhausted and we were planning to contact you regarding it.”

Wang Jian smiled upon hearing those words. He spoke while caressing a little girlʼs face and a little boyʼs head, ”You shouldnʼt have waited then. It would have been terrible if these little kids had to eat that low-quality food that would be detrimental for their growth.”

”Thank you big brother for bringing us this tasty food,” a little girl spoke gratefully.

Wang Jian caressed her head and spoke, ”You donʼt have to thank me for this little thing. Just focus on having fun and growing up nicely.”

All the kids suddenly hugged him and thanked him. It was a rather warm moment and Su Xian couldnʼt help but feel good.

Su Xian had always regarded Wang Jian as a cruel and heartless monster, devoid of any capacity for compassion or kindness. However, she was now witnessing a facet of his character that was entirely at odds with her previous perceptions. To her surprise, she was pleasantly impressed by this new side of Wang Jian. In all honesty, she couldnʼt help but acknowledge that he was actually not so bad after all.

The children, in turn, were equally enchanted by Wang Jian. They followed him around like he was a hero, hanging on to his every word and laughing at his jokes.

As the day progressed, Wang Jian and Su Xian participated in a variety of activities with the children. They played games, made crafts, and even helped prepare lunch.

At the end of the day, Wang Jian declared, ”I will be donating a hefty sum to your orphanage. This money will be used entirely for you all. Never let anyone tell you that you canʼt do anything because of your background or circumstances. I assure you that this is just the beginning of your life. Your fate is in your hands.”

”With unwavering determination, relentless effort, and a thirst for knowledge, you will unlock the doors to boundless success. I am committed to securing the top educators to help you discover your natural gifts and cultivate them with care. Through your talents, you will command respect and admiration from all who cross your path. So, letʼs make sure to hone them to the finest degree!”

The kids in the orphanage collectively cheered at Wang Jianʼs speech.

”We will definitely work hard!”

”I never thought about it that way. Iʼm going to try my best to find my talent and make the most of it.”

”Iʼm going to study as much as I can and show everyone that Iʼm just as good as anyone else.”

”I was feeling down, but those words have given me the motivation to keep going. I wonʼt give up on my dreams.”

Wang Jian nodded in satisfaction and turned around to face Su Xian, ”Letʼs return now. Itʼs nearly nighttime.”

The kids seemed rather reluctant upon hearing those words. They instantly surrounded Wang Jian and tried to convince him to stay with them a bit longer.

The kids even turned towards Su Xian and requested her as well.

Su Xian tried to convince Wang Jian by sending a rather forced expression. Unfortunately, it was impossible to change his mind.

Wang Jian knew it was time to go, as he had stayed longer than intended.

The two soon returned to the chariot. The charioteer set the horses in motion, and they were on their way to the mansion.

Upon their return, Wang Jian gracefully made his way to his private chambers, while Su Xian retired to her cozy abode, each lost in thought about their fulfilling day at the orphanage. Especially Su Xian.

To her, it felt as if her entire world had turned upside down after witnessing this event. She had no idea whether Wang Jian was good or bad.

Su Xian struggled to erase the memories of his cruel actions - the way he had attempted to force himself upon her and the venomous words he had spoken. She had no idea that Wang Jian seemed to completely occupy her mind.

She was no longer indifferent to his actions as her mind overanalyzed Wang Jianʼs every action.

In the meantime, Wang Jian returned to his room and laid on the bed.

He ordered, ”Display the notifications for today.”

[Congratulations, Host. You have successfully incited deep hatred between the protagonistʼs factions. You receive a reward of 500 Destiny Points.]

[Congratulations, Host. You have drastically raised the Heroine Su Xianʼs impression of yourself. You receive a reward of 200 Destiny Points.]

Other than these congratulatory notifications, there was another notification that suggested a warning.

[The system recommends Master to stay a bit away from the Heroine. Master was about to cross the threshold today and trigger the defensive protocol of the World Essence that would start correcting their destiny paths. You must steal greater luck of the protagonist before directly acting against him or his heroines.]

”Show me my status screen,” Wang Jian ordered.

”How much luck do I need to bypass the defensive protocol?” Wang Jian asked.

[Your Villainʼs luck must be nearly equal or surpass the Protagonistʼs luck. To view your and the Protagonistʼs luck, you require 100 Destiny Points.]

Wang Jian frowned upon reading that part of the description. He asked, ”Must I expend points every time I want to view mine and the protagonistʼs luck?”

[No. Master can also buy the True Eyes Ability. It is an expensive ability as it requires 1 Million Points.]

”What?! An ability to view someoneʼs luck is so expensive?! Thatʼs blatant robbery.”

[Thatʼs not the only use of the True Eyes Ability. Using this ability, Master can also see through their true emotions and even read their thoughts. However, if Master only wishes to view and compare luck then you just require 10,000 Destiny Points.]

”Damn. Thatʼs still too expensive for me,” Wang Jian sighed in disappointment.
