Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

The next morning, a few sparrows landed on the windowsill, chirping away.

Chen Yansen slowly opened his eyes, got up, and walked toward the window.

Outside, the sky was just beginning to lighten. Downtown Xucheng was shrouded in a veil of mist.

He hadn’t returned to Xuyuan last night. Instead, he, Wang Zihao, and Song Yuncheng had gotten rooms at the Sky Garden to rest, making it convenient for him to attend Orange Technology’s new product launch this morning.

Chen Yansen sat down at the desk, opened his computer, and, as usual, checked the user, sales, and retention data for Pinbei and Orange Technology.

Next, he opened his email. Cao Dahua reported that the last shipment of Orange F1 and Orange F2 phones to Abysinnia was already more than half sold out. The factory was preparing to produce another 200,000 Orange F1s and 50,000 Orange F2s for the East African market.

Chen Yansen thought for a moment, then opened the sales reports sent by Zhou Jinling and the others. The daily sales figures, including data from their own stores and distributors, immediately began to combine and overlap in his mind.

After a few moments, Chen Yansen replied to Cao Dahua, telling him to increase the shipment volume for Zhou Jinling and his team by another 50%.

Chen Yansen deduced from the data that the Orange Mobile Phone in Abysinnia was just one opportune moment away from truly explosive growth.

Increasing the supply would give Zhou Jinling more room to maneuver.

Additionally, Penguin, DST, and Jinsha Venture Capital had all conducted comprehensive, in-depth investigations into Kuai Pao’s business model and profitability.

Their final valuations were 300 million, 160 million, and 210 million, respectively.

In reality, if it weren’t for Chen Yansen backing the project, the valuation would have to be cut in half to be considered reasonable.

Looking at the email from Pei Yi asking for instructions, he replied, ”To be discussed.”

Right now, Kuai Pao was so small it hadn’t even fully captured the Luzhou market. Raising funds recklessly at this stage would be a huge loss for Chen Yansen.

He was just using Penguin to drive up expectations among venture capital firms.

The best time would be after Kuai Pao had spent its 30 million in funding and successfully conquered the Luzhou food delivery market.

Until then, all he had to do was stall.

”Oh? You’re awake?” Song Yuncheng’s voice came from behind him.

Chen Yansen glanced at the time. It was just a quarter past six.

He walked back to the bed and pulled Song Yuncheng into his arms. ”Didn’t sleep well? Just stay here and rest this morning. You can go back to the Science and Technology Park this afternoon.”

”Mhm, I am still a little sleepy. How come you always wake up before me?”

Song Yuncheng asked curiously.

”I’m getting old, so I don’t need as much sleep,” Chen Yansen said with a smile, spouting nonsense.

”You’re a year younger than me, and you’re still trying to act all grown up in front of your big sister. Why don’t you call me ’Big Sister’ and let me hear it?”

He made Song Yuncheng laugh, and she instantly forgot her question, content to just squirm in his arms.

”I’m afraid if I actually call you that, you’ll be the one who’s unhappy,” Chen Yansen said with a wicked grin, slipping his hand under the covers.

”Stop it, ’Big Brother,’ let me go back to sleep.” Song Yuncheng’s face grew redder and redder, and her watery eyes looked as if they might overflow.

”It’s a little late to be calling me ’Big Brother’ now.” The corner of Chen Yansen’s mouth lifted as he dove under the covers.

It wasn’t until the alarm went off at eight o’clock that Chen Yansen finally went into the bathroom. After washing up, he changed into a fresh suit and headed to the dining hall, feeling refreshed and energized.

By this time, the ground floor was already packed with all kinds of luxury cars.

Inspectors stood at the intersection, directing the invited friendly competitors, suppliers, partners, and media reporters to park in a specially designated area.

Because the Orange Mobile Phone had sold 11.25 million units in 2011, and with some persuasion from DST’s boss, Yuri, companies like Qualcomm, Microsoft, and Sony had all sent high-ranking representatives to attend the launch event.

Lei Yijun hadn’t wanted to come, but he was eager to find out the price of the new Orange Mobile Phone as soon as possible so he could adjust Xiaomi’s new product development plans.

This time, he didn’t want to compete head-on with Orange Technology. If all the customers in the same price range bought the Orange Mobile Phone, how was Xiaomi supposed to sell anything?

If the new Orange Mobile Phone was priced at 2,999 yuan, he would continue to focus on the 1,999 yuan market and launch a 1,499 yuan model in hopes of capturing a larger market share.

Not long after Lei Yijun entered with Li Wanqiang, Chen Yongming from OPPO and Huang Zhang from Meizu also walked into the conference hall one after another.

Huang Zhang shot Lei Yijun an icy glance, ignored him completely, and led his assistant to their seats.

Ye Qiuping, Wang Teng, and others were on the ground floor, responsible for greeting the guests.

When Chen Yansen arrived, he happened to see Yu Chendong of Huawei heading inside.

At the last launch event, Huawei hadn’t paid Orange Technology any mind at all. But just six months later, Orange Technology had shot up to fourth place on the smartphone sales charts with just a single product, naturally garnering their attention.

Yu Chendong had led his team all the way from Shencheng City to Xucheng specifically for this.

”President Chen, a pleasure! I’ve heard so much about you. It seems the young people from our Huian not only have a head for business but are also quite handsome.”

Yu Chendong said with a flattering smile.

He was also from Huian, making him a fellow townsman of Chen Yansen’s. He approached with a broad, warm smile, exuding an air of familiarity.

”You’re too kind, President Yu. Please, this way.”

Chen Yansen gave a faint smile and led Yu Chendong toward the elevators.

In 2012, Huawei had only been transitioning for two years. Under Yu Chendong’s leadership, its smartphone shipments had easily secured the number two spot in the market.

Although carrier-contract and customized phones accounted for half of that share, a shipment volume of over 20 million units was still a testament to Yu Chendong’s business acumen.

As they walked, Yu Chendong observed his fellow townsman. He was tall and carried himself well, with a calm and composed expression. ’No wonder he managed to build a ten-billion-yuan fortune before he was even twenty,’ he thought.
