Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

The three-day holiday passed in the blink of an eye.

Chen Yansen had been enjoying himself immensely. Just as he stepped into his office, he suddenly received a call from Tang Qingshan.

”Principal Tang, what can I do for you?” Chen Yansen walked to his chair, plopped down, and asked with a smile.

”What do you mean, ’Principal Tang’? Didn’t I tell you to call me Teacher Tang?” Tang Qingshan retorted, displeased.

Ever since Xuyuan had produced a student like Chen Yansen, his own reputation had grown both inside and outside the province. He was especially smug after learning that Orange Technology was planning to hold a campus recruitment event at Huake University after the New Year.

”Yes, yes, of course, Teacher Tang,” Chen Yansen readily agreed, replying with a light chuckle.

Generally speaking, the most powerful person one might encounter in their lifetime is often their university’s principal or some unassuming, low-key professor or lecturer.

The very class that university students were desperate to skip was one that people in the working world would have to pay at least three to five thousand yuan for a chance to attend.

Tang Qingshan looked out for Chen Yansen, and Chen Yansen, in turn, showed the influential man a great deal of respect. Since the principal wanted to acknowledge a teacher-student relationship, he wasn’t about to refuse.

”Before the holiday, the Hang City Youth Entrepreneurs Association sent over an invitation. The mailroom wasn’t paying attention, so it got delayed. The organizers specifically invited you to attend. It’s scheduled for January 5th.”

After the pleasantries, Tang Qingshan got straight to the point.

’January 5th?’

’Isn’t that tomorrow?’

’The Hang City Youth Entrepreneurs Association?’

Chen Yansen mulled it over as Tang Qingshan continued, explaining that the invited young entrepreneurs were mainly from the post-80s and post-90s generations, hailing from Lighthouse, Korea, Neon, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and the Mainland.

Among them were many outstanding graduates from Ivy League Schools, Qingbei, Hong Kong University, and Seoul University.

To put it bluntly, Tang Qingshan wanted to use this opportunity to have Chen Yansen represent Xuyuan at this youth entrepreneurs conference and earn him some prestige.

”Teacher Tang, I’ll go pick up the invitation later then.”

Without much thought, Chen Yansen immediately agreed.

The reason Orange Technology and Pinbei Technology had thrived so well in Xucheng, without even a single minor freeloader coming to cause trouble, was due to Tang Qingshan’s protection in the early days and their own formidable strength later on.

’It would be good to get out and about anyway, maybe see if there are any potential projects.’

”No need, I’ll have someone bring it to you.”

Tang Qingshan replied with a light chuckle after hearing Chen Yansen’s agreement.

An hour later, Su Hao, the new supervising teacher for the Innovation Park, personally delivered the invitation to Chen Yansen’s office.

”Teacher Su, what kind of tea would you like?” Chen Yansen stood up and offered.

”Chen... Chen Tongxue, you’re too kind. I still have some unfinished work at the Innovation Park, so I’ll pass on the tea. I have to get back.”

Su Hao chose his words carefully, unable to bring himself to say ”President Chen.”

As he spoke, he couldn’t help but observe Chen Yansen, thinking to himself: ’He’s just like the rumors say—tall and handsome, more like a celebrity than an entrepreneur.’

He was quite envious of Cao Dahua, who had left his post to take a detached position. Cao Dahua now held considerable prestige in Shencheng City’s electronics industry and, as the head of the Orange Phone Factory, had a guaranteed base income of sixty to seventy thousand a month.

’In his opinion, Cao Dahua was just an old slacker who knew how to muddle through. What real ability could he have?’

’At best, he just got lucky and latched onto a big tree like Chen Yansen.’

’Busy at the Innovation Park?’

Chen Yansen scoffed inwardly. After FoxTao moved out, the Innovation Park had gone right back to how it used to be.

Although his influence had sparked a wave of entrepreneurial fever at Xuyuan, it had died down completely just three short months later.

Now, apart from Song Yang’s courier station, the Innovation Park only had the usual print shop, electronics store, milk tea shop, and fruit stand.

Su Hao was just going back to slack off.

Chen Yansen just smiled, not exposing the lie. He took the invitation from Su Hao, saw him to the door, and returned to his office.

”2012 Youth Entrepreneurs Development Forum: Innovation, Diversity, and Mutual Benefit—Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Serving Economic Development.”

Chen Yansen glanced at it casually. He had lost count of how many of these industry networking events he’d attended in his past life.

’Simply put, it’s a gathering spot for social climbers and gold diggers.’

’The men are all looking to grab resources, connections, and funding, while the women are all looking to land a rich boyfriend.’

If Tang Qingshan hadn’t asked, Chen Yansen would have tossed this invitation straight into the trash, even if it had been delivered to him.

”I’ll take Old Gao, Zihao, and Song Yuncheng with me then.”

Chen Yansen made his decision quickly.

Although this kind of event wasn’t very useful to him, if they happened to stumble upon a reliable project, having Gao Weilin and Song Yuncheng there would make it easier to handle the follow-up process.

As for Wang Zihao, he was just an extra.

The kid knew too little about the tactics of gold diggers, which was why he had been so badly screwed over in his past life. It would be good to take him along to see the world.

’Otherwise, what’s the point of having the ability to make money if you can’t hold onto it? You’d still be useless.’

Four o’clock that afternoon.

The four of them gathered at the East Gate of Xuyuan with two cars.

Song Yuncheng was in the driver’s seat of Chen Yansen’s Bentley Mulsanne, with Chen Yansen as his passenger.

Wang Zihao drove his BMW 750, with Gao Weilin in the passenger seat.

They sped all the way there. By the time the four of them arrived in Hang City, the sky outside was already as black as ink, with a few twinkling stars dotting the night.

”If you two get bored, you can go for a walk by West Lake.”

After parking the cars on the ground floor and checking into the hotel, Chen Yansen said to Wang Zihao and Gao Weilin.

The two exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but shudder. ’Two grown men taking a midnight stroll around West Lake?’

’Better not.’

Wang Zihao shook his head.

Gao Weilin quickly said he had to go back to his room to call his wife and check in.

Seeing this, Chen Yansen grunted in acknowledgment, and they all headed toward their rooms together.
