CEO's Reborn Wife

When Jane Sampson ended the video call, almost an hour had passed.

Jane Sampson, puzzled, sent a question mark to Bright Sampton on WhatsApp.

You’re on a call for an hour? - James Black’s wife.

Bright Sampton didn’t reply, so Jane Sampson closed the computer, planning to leave the remaining issues for the three of them to discuss again tomorrow.

With nothing to do, Jane Sampson started scrolling through Twitter on her mobile phone. Unexpectedly, she stumbled upon a trending topic, which was related to her.

#Jane Sampson’s Foster Father Arrested for Fraud.#

Upon seeing this news, Jane Sampson was stunned on the spot.

”Bright Sampton’s dad got arrested?” Jane Sampson quickly called James Black over and handed the mobile phone to him, pointing at the line of text, ”Arrested for fraud?”

”Click into the topic and see what’s inside.” James Black was also a bit surprised. He had water in his hand, so he instructed Jane Sampson to use her finger.

Jane Sampson obliged, clicking open. Inside the topic was a video, a few seconds of video showing Father Sampton being handcuffed and pushed into a police car, along with a text explanation from the video author underneath, saying they saw Jane Sampson’s foster father get arrested for fraud with their own eyes. During the arrest, many victims were chasing after him to hit him.

The video’s author was clearly mocking Father Sampton’s fall from a company’s boss to a fraudster, and they took the opportunity to list the Sampton Family’s assets before bankruptcy and to bring up past affairs of the Sampton Family and sisters Jane Sampson and Julie Sampson.

The comments underneath were completely one-sided, with Jane Sampson’s fans all expressing relief that Jane Sampson had already severed ties with the Sampton Family; otherwise, having a fraudster foster father would be such a blow to her reputation.

Some fans, emotionally charged, protested that the video’s author was exploiting the name ’Jane Sampson’s foster father’ to grab attention and gwen more clicks, insisting that Jane Sampson had long since cut ties with the Sampton Family, and Father Sampton was no longer her foster father. They said Father Sampton didn’t deserve to appear in the same frame as Jane Sampson’s name and so on.

Jane Sampson checked the time the video was posted, just ten minutes before Bright Sampton suddenly exited the group video call.

Now Jane Sampson understood why Bright Sampson suddenly disappeared.

Jane Sampson already had no ties with Father Sampton, and Julie Sampson had settled abroad with her mom; they had already immigrated. The police couldn’t reach Julie Sampson, so they contacted Bright Sampton.

”I need to call Bright Sampton and ask about the situation.” Knowing was one thing, but now Jane Sampson was worried about Bright Sampson.

”Hmm.” James Black nodded, ”Bright Sampton should already be at the police station by now. Ask him about the situation and see if he needs any help.”

Jane Sampson quickly exited Twitter and dialed Bright Sampton’s phone number. Luckily, after a few rings, Bright Sampton answered.

”Sis, what’s up?” Bright Sampton asked in a relaxed tone over the phone, ”I was chatting with a friend just now; we talked for so long I forgot about discussing work with you guys.”

”You’re still at the police station now? What’s going on exactly? How did he get involved in fraud?” Jane Sampson didn’t beat around the bush and asked directly.

”How come you know about it too?” Bright Sampton was extremely surprised, ”The police didn’t call you, how do you know about my dad’s situation?”

Bright Sampson hadn’t planned to inform Jane Sampson.
