CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 647: Chapter 655: What is Good

”Although Sister Mandy Forest and I have worked on a show together before, I don’t really have much to do with her, and we are not that familiar, so I don’t know how to answer your question. However, Sister Mandy Forest suddenly started crying in the makeup room today, right after I finished talking to you on the phone, and she seemed very upset.”

Jane Sampson didn’t elaborate on what happened with Mandy Forest today, but she didn’t gloss over it either.

”About the cohabitation scandal with Senior Shirley Young before, Sister Mandy Forest specifically apologized to me today. She said it was all her doing,” Jane Sampson said. ”Even though I don’t know why she had this misunderstanding, she has always thought that you and I were boyfriend and girlfriend.”

”I explained it to Mr. Carter, but I’m not sure if Sister Mandy Forest believed it or not. Today, when you came to pick me up at the company, after I got into the car, didn’t you ask me what I was looking at? I think I saw Sister Mandy Forest at the company doorway, who had gone downstairs before me,” Jane Sampson said and then stopped there, just looking at James Carter.

Even if Jane Sampson was slow to grasp matters of the heart, after James Carter carefully asked her if she has been doing well recently, Jane suddenly understood why Mandy Forest got so emotional after hearing her on the phone with James Carter, and finally realized why Mandy Forest had been cold to her all this time.

Mandy Forest thought she was James Carter’s girlfriend, and Mandy Forest seemed to have feelings for James Carter.

It took some time before James Carter finally spoke, ”Jane, for what she did, I want to say sorry to you on her behalf. She wasn’t like this before.”

One sentence, Mr. Carter, in what capacity are you apologizing to me on behalf of Sister Mandy Forest?

That question, Jane Sampson, in the end, did not voice out loud.

Although she didn’t mean it that way, saying it out loud always felt a bit aggressive, as if she was clinging to the wrong that Mandy Forest had done.

”Mr. Carter, you don’t need to keep apologizing. Sister Mandy Forest has already apologized to me herself,” Jane Sampson said to James Carter. She didn’t bring it up to get James Carter to apologize on behalf of Mandy Forest, but only to tell him what Mandy Forest had done because of him.

Jane Sampson could clearly feel that, because she suddenly mentioned Mandy Forest, James Carter seemed somewhat distraught throughout dinner.

After dinner, James Carter drove Jane Sampson back to the hotel.

When they arrived at the hotel entrance and Jane Sampson was about to get out of the car to say goodbye, James Carter suddenly called out to her and asked, ”Does Mandy Forest also stay here?”

”Yes, this hotel is booked by JK Company, and the three of us are staying here these two days,” Jane Sampson answered without waiting for James Carter to ask more. Then she added, ”But I don’t know Sister Mandy Forest’s room number.”

Having said that, Jane Sampson waved at James Carter, ”Mr. Carter, I’ll go up first then. You should also head back and rest early.”

James Carter hummed in acknowledgment and watched Jane Sampson enter the hotel until her figure disappeared from his sight.

The driver had been waiting and did not dare to start the car to leave without hearing James Carter’s instructions. Turning to look at James Carter in the rear seat, the driver saw that his eyes were fixed on the hotel’s large hall entrance.

He kept looking for several minutes, and if it hadn’t been for the parking attendant coming over, James Carter might not have known how much longer he would have continued staring.

Jane Sampson entered the elevator and pressed the button for the 26th floor. When the elevator stopped at the 6th floor, Lotus, wearing a mask, and her assistant walked in.
