Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 856: Chapter 856: She Really Walks Fast

”Oh, my memory! I was going to take a bowl of stew over to your Godfather and Godmother, but as soon as I saw you come back, I forgot everything.”

Hearing this, Kang Li put down her bowl and stood up, ”Mom, sit and eat. I’ll take it over to Godfather and Godmother.”

Luo Yanqing: ”Xiao Li, you keep eating, I’ll go.”

”There’s nothing to argue about with such a small matter. You, Mom, and the kids start eating, I’ll be back in no time.”

Heading to the kitchen, Kang Li grabbed a small enamel bowl with a lid from the counter, walked to the stove, opened the pot lid, and started scooping the stew into the enamel bowl.

Of course, the small enamel bowl was washed clean. After all, it was kept on the counter and regularly used in the kitchen, so it couldn’t have a layer of dust.

Besides, both Kang Li and Luo Yanqing are a bit OCD about cleanliness, and Cai Xiufen has always been quick and efficient; no need to mention the kitchen’s hygiene.

The Song Family.

”Godfather, Godmother, Xuan Xuan.”

Upon entering the living room and seeing Director Song, Mrs. Qi, and Song Xuan sitting around the table eating, Kang Li called out to each of them and said, ”My mom made some stew, and she asked me to bring some over.”

After placing the small enamel bowl in the center of the table, Kang Li removed the lid, instantly letting the aroma fill the air: ”Have a taste, my mom’s stew is truly delicious!”

”Oh, just the smell alone already makes it irresistible! It’s so fragrant!” Mrs. Qi laughed and said, ”Your Godfather loves stew the most; you brought it at the perfect time!”

”That’s right, Godfather just loves this dish!”

Director Song beamed, ”Thank your mom for me!”

Kang Li: ”No problem.”

Song Xuan took a bite of the stew, and moments later, with a smile in his eyes, he said to Kang Li, ”Auntie, it’s delicious.”

”Then eat more of it.”

With a smile, Kang Li bid farewell: ”Godfather, Godmother, I won’t stay any longer, otherwise when I go back, my bowl of stew might get cold.”

Mrs. Qi looked at her with loving and doting eyes: ”Why don’t you stay and eat?”

”No, thanks.”

Kang Li waved her hand, smiling, and said, ”When I left, my mom had already served my bowl of stew.” Saying this, she walked out of the living room: ”Goodbye, Godfather, Godmother! Goodbye, Xuan Xuan!”

Mrs. Qi hurriedly got up, but before she could escort her out, Kang Li had already disappeared beyond the courtyard gate.

”She sure leaves quickly!”

Returning to the table, Mrs. Qi remarked to Director Song.

”Are you talking about Li Bao?”

Director Song asked.

”Who else could I be talking about other than Li Bao?”

Giving Director Song a slight eye roll, Mrs. Qi said, ”I had only just stepped out of the living room, and in that short time, she had already reached the gate.”

”Young people are always quick on their feet; isn’t it normal to move fast?”

Director Song chuckled and said, ”Hurry and eat, this stew really tastes good.”

”There are many ingredients and a lot of seasonings in it; how could it not be fragrant?”

Looking at the tantalizingly aromatic stew in the bowl, Mrs. Qi said, ”Li Bao’s mom is generous with her cooking; just look at the slices of pork belly, and the fried tofu, meatballs, kelp, mushrooms, yuba—so many kinds of ingredients!”

”Not long ago, Li Bao’s mom sent us a bunch of dried goods, including dried green beans, dried mushrooms, and dried black fungus... Next time, you should make a pot of stew for us too.”

Director Song, stuffing his mouth with stew, said to Mrs. Qi, ”Just make it taste like Li Bao’s mom did.”

”You’re already thinking about your next meal while eating this one? You’re something else!”
