Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1235 - 738: The Unlucky Doctor Daoter (Part 4)

Her surprise was no less than her cousin’s, but after all, she was more worldly than him, and soon figured out her position.

Looking at the foreign man lying unconscious on the floor, Luo Ye’s lips curled up. A ship sinks in a canal, just like him, right?

She didn’t know why the man brought out a pile of medicine; anyway, he was just unlucky enough to bump into Li Dazhu.

Li Dazhu was the man who almost got hit just now; he was a scrap collector nearby. He saw a crane take the large equipment from the factory during the day and thought he could steal some small parts at night when no one was around to sell for money.

Who would have thought, that he didn’t find scrap metal, but instead bumped into a foreign man sneaking around with a bag, acting suspiciously. At the time, he thought whatever was in the foreign man’s bag was treasure, and driven by desire, grabbed a stick and knocked the foreign man down.

Upon opening the bag, he found the contents were similar to what Dr. Li used with the village’s IV drip; feeling dejected, he didn’t want to go home empty-handed, so he decided to take the medicine bottles back to Dr. Li, sell whatever he could.

As for the foreign man, he wasn’t worried at all. Firstly, the man hadn’t seen his face, and secondly, if he wasn’t guilty of something, why would he be sneaking in here in the middle of the night? He suspected it was stolen too, and thief stealing from thief isn’t really stealing.

But knowing it wasn’t the straight and narrow path, he felt guilty, and got distracted, almost getting hit by a car, which led to Luo Ye’s suspicion, and things escalated to the current situation.

Li Dazhu had really hit hard—under the foreign man’s neck lay a puddle of coagulated dark blood.

Whether it was Daoter or not, Luo Ye couldn’t be sure, but this man must have a connection to him. Checking his pulse, thankfully, no major harm, just one needle from her and he would definitely wake up.

All the foreign man’s belongings were taken by Li Dazhu, anything useful carried away, useless stuff scattered around him. Luo Ye illuminated the scattered papers on the ground with a flashlight, her lips curled up, and she took a silver needle and gave two pricks on the man’s head. Two faint snorts came from his nose, and the man slowly woke up.

”Doctor Daoter, you’re awake?” Luo Ye greeted in pure English.

The man, disoriented, patted his head, hesitated for a while, and nodded: ”Yes, you are?”

”I’m Lin Yu, coming to serve as your assistant. How did you end up lying here?” Luo Ye feigned concern.

”Hell, I don’t know either.” Daoter examined Luo Ye under the light of the flashlight, ”Weren’t you supposed to arrive tomorrow?”

”I was so excited to become your assistant, I came over early. I couldn’t reach you by phone, so I thought to look around and ended up finding you here.” Luo Ye shrugged, ”Luckily, I saw your photo, otherwise...” She paused, not continuing.
