Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1139: Chapter 672: The Wen Family Patriarch’s ”Request

”He actually followed?”

Luo Ye slapped her forehead speechlessly. Wasn’t that traffic cop squatting right by her car? If it weren’t for her sharp eyes, she might not have seen that what squatted like a laborer behind her car was classmate Cop.

”What’s up?” Xiao Yu asked puzzled.

”When I was coming back earlier, I accidentally stepped on the gas too hard and sped,” Luo Ye smiled awkwardly, ”But I handed him my driver’s license and vehicle registration. I originally planned to admit my mistake after our chat, but who would’ve thought he’d be waiting on me.”

”Oh?” Xiao Yu craned her neck to have a look and started laughing, ”Him, huh? What a coincidence, the whole traffic police squad has just this one lively character, and you ran into him.” She glanced at Niu Xiaoyue, ”It’s up to you now.”

”Huh?” Niu Xiaoyue rubbed her head in frustration, ”This task is way too daunting.”

”Your person, if you find it daunting, no one else would even dare,” Xiao Yu nudged her, ”Go on now, we’ll wait here.”

”Thanks.” Luo Ye looked seriously at Xiao Yu.

”What are you thanking me for, you made the mistake for our sake, I should feel honored, it’s no big deal, don’t be so polite. Moreover, if you consider me a friend, drop the formalities.”

”I was just being polite; did you think I was truly grateful?” Luo Ye curled her lips, ”You really should feel honored since there aren’t many people I’d make a mistake for.”

”Uh...” Xiao Yu looked at Luo Ye speechlessly, proving again that birds of a feather flock together; Luo Ye and Ye Xuan’s arrogance are a match.

”Just kidding.” Luo Ye laughed, patting her head, ”Silly, you fell for it.” This was something she often said with a similar gesture in their previous life. Unconsciously, she did the same, immediately regretting it since it was their first meeting...

Feeling her embarrassment, Xiao Yu chuckled softly, ”It’s okay, I like you treating me that way. Funny enough, when you did that, I felt an odd familiarity as if we’ve known each other for years, and you’ve often treated me like this.”

Luo Ye’s heart skipped a beat, smiling somewhat unnaturally, ”Seems like it’s really fate then.”

At this moment, Niu Xiaoyue came over dragging the cop along.

”Xiao Yue just told me you rushed over for her matter, but still, you shouldn’t have driven at such high speed.

I don’t care who you are; here, even a prince breaking the law has the same punishment as a commoner. So, you don’t have to come to the station with me now, but when you get a chance, you must resolve this. As for your driver’s license and registration, you’ll get them back once it’s settled.”

Before Luo Ye could speak, Xiao Yu kicked the cop in the leg, ”Yang Aigang, has your brain been stuck in a door? Liangyou investing in Xiangshan City is a blessing for the citizens of Xiangshan City.

Luoluo rushed back to sort out the investment so the people of Xiangshan City could benefit sooner. Aren’t you being ungrateful by doing this?”

”I’m a traffic cop. I just know that obeying traffic rules is every citizen’s responsibility,” Yang Aigang stared seriously at Xiao Yu, ”Even if you made a mistake, I’d handle it the same way.”

Luo Ye stepped forward, ”Alright, I’ll go to the station tomorrow to take care of the paperwork. Sorry for the trouble, Officer Yang.”

”Alright, let’s leave it at that then.”

”Miss Luo, I’m sorry, he’s just that stubborn. My dad couldn’t stand this side of him, which is why he disagrees with us being together.” Once the figure disappeared, Niu Xiaoyue spoke with a teary voice.

”It’s alright, there’s nothing to be sorry about. I indeed was at fault first, no matter how urgent, I shouldn’t have sped...” Luo Ye smiled, ”Come on, let’s catch a ride out, I can’t knowingly break the law again.”

”Let’s get in the car.”

As they exited, a taxi immediately pulled up.

”We must be lucky; normally, there wouldn’t be a taxi around here before quitting time.”

”Miss, an officer told me to wait here for you. Otherwise, at this hour, how could I afford such idle time without losing money?”

”Haha...” Xiao Yu laughed, patting Luo Ye, ”Hear that? That’s Yang Aigang, always consistently complicated.”

”A good person, but alas...” Luo Ye shook her head, saying no more. Being responsible is good, but someone like Yang Aigang who is inflexible...how can that be?

After spending the afternoon together, Xiao Yu and Luo Ye had grown much closer; those who didn’t know any better might’ve thought the two were old friends.
