Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1106: Chapter 652: Taking the Initiative (Part 2)

Wen Yuanbao, who almost caused big trouble, bent slightly as he said, ”Yes, Old Master, I’ll handle this matter by tomorrow.” As he spoke, he handed over a business card, ”This guest requests to see you.”

”Why has she come?” Wen Shusheng snorted coldly, ”Let her come, I want to see what she can accomplish by coming all the way here alone!”

”Who is it?” Wen Yu, who had recovered from the pain, asked curiously.

Mr. Wen casually handed the business card to his granddaughter, ”Your second aunt’s daughter, Luo Ye.”

”Her?” Wen Yu raised an eyebrow, ”I always hear second uncle say she’s impressive; I definitely want to meet her. Grandpa, can I join you to meet the guest?”

”Sure, both of you can join.” Wen Shusheng stood up and walked toward the main hall, ”It’s a good opportunity to see which of you is more outstanding.”

”Yes!” The sisters answered, flanking Wen Shusheng on either side as they walked to the main hall. They dared not assist him, as Wen Shusheng disliked being reminded of his age.

”Sis, what are you holding?” Wen Yu glanced at the file folder in Wen Xue’s hand and asked curiously.

”A task from Grandpa.” Wen Xue casually handed the folder to her younger sister.

Wen Yu pulled out the photo and studied it, clicking her tongue, ”He’s really handsome! The most handsome guy in our school isn’t as good-looking as him. Grandpa, you’re biased, giving this handsome guy to my sister and not me!”

Wen Xue quickly suggested, ”Grandpa, why don’t we both pursue him and see whom he has feelings for, and whoever he likes will stick to it? What do you say?”

Wen Shusheng glanced at his older granddaughter and sighed after a moment, ”Alright then, let’s see what you can do. The deadline is still two months, and whoever completes the task gets 3% of the family business shares.”

”Oh, Grandpa, you’re really generous! Then I won’t hold back.” Wen Yu pulled out a few photos and handed them to Wen Xue, ”Sis, since you’ve already seen them, leave the rest for me to study.”

”Okay.” Wen Xue was quite happy; with her naturally non-competitive nature, she wasn’t interested in the 3%, nor in chasing handsome guys. Her younger sister’s enthusiasm was a relief, and even if she was given no photos, she wouldn’t care.

”You...” Wen Shusheng tapped his younger granddaughter’s forehead, ”Just share things with your sister!”

”Hehe...” Wen Xue smiled flatteringly, ”If we share equally, Grandpa wouldn’t favor either of us. Isn’t this better? Sis and I won’t fall out over a competition.”

”That’s because Xiao Xue yields to you; otherwise, you two would quarrel all the time.” Wen Shusheng remarked, casting a faint glance at his older granddaughter.

Truth be told, the older granddaughter is truly kind-hearted and filial. Although he dotes on the younger granddaughter, he is well aware that once she’s married off, she’ll likely focus only on her own family. Yet, he can’t help but be charmed by her sweet words, maybe because humans are paradoxical creatures.

As he thought of his sons’ descriptions of Luo Ye, a bit of irritation grew in his heart. Why should she be favored by thousands over there?

...

When Luo Ye followed Wen Yuanbao into the main hall, she saw Wen Shusheng sitting in the main seat, with two young women on either side. The one on the left bore a slight resemblance to her mom, while the one on the right had sharp eyes and an expression suggesting she was hard to get along with.

”Hello, everyone!” Once she was standing still, Luo Ye greeted with a gentle smile, not deliberately addressing Wen Shusheng. She automatically ignored his frowning expression.

”You’re Ye’er’s sister, right?” The sharp-eyed girl quickly stepped down, scrutinizing Luo Ye, ”You’re indeed quite pretty; the kind that men like. By the way, let me introduce myself; I’m Wen Yu, 21 years old, a sophomore in the Philosophy Department at B University.”

”I don’t need to introduce myself; I believe you already know.”

Luo Ye’s words carried an unspeakable pride, causing Wen Yu to change her expression slightly before smiling again, ”Of course, Ye’er sister is nearly a household name in Beijing; of course I know.

By the way, Ye’er sister, do you like Ye Xuan from the Ye Family or Feng Tianzhi from the Feng Family? You know, this has spread through the Beijing circles.

Many young ladies from aristocratic families resent you; you’re a hazard to single people, monopolizing two outstanding men. How can that be?”

”What does it tell us when two exceptional men like me?” Luo Ye raised a brow and smiled, ”For those who can’t have the grapes and say they’re sour, I have no need to explain.”

”You...” Anger flashed in Wen Yu’s eyes before she promptly smiled, ”Actually, there are more than just those two exemplary men; I also have a good one here.” She said as she pulled a photo from a file and handed it to Luo Ye, ”Look, this is my boyfriend; he looks quite good, doesn’t he?

Let me tell you, he’s an outstanding student from Ren Da and a member of the Ye Family. Yes, if you are close with Ye Xuan, you should know him; maybe we can even be sisters-in-law, right?”

”Xiao Yu!” Wen Shusheng barked angrily, planning for his younger granddaughter to tease Luo Ye; hence, he had kept silent. Unexpectedly, the usually clever younger granddaughter committed such a foolish mistake, showing Zhan Ping to Luo Ye, basically handing over the chance for her to reject it.
