Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 747: Chapter 450: Who Is the Director?

Luo Ye’s laughter quickly added some joy to Feng Tianzhi’s brows and eyes: ”It’s worth making Little Ye’er smile.” Then he looked at the elderly lady, ”Auntie, how about I meet your granddaughter after getting off the plane?”

”Okay, it’s settled.” The elderly lady smiled and nodded at Luo Ye, ”Little girl, if he ends up with my granddaughter, you wouldn’t regret it, would you?”

Luo Ye quickly waved her hand, ”Not at all, don’t worry, I absolutely won’t interfere.”

”Then I’m relieved.” The elderly lady breathed a sigh of relief and handed the fruit plate to Feng Tianzhi, ”Future grandson-in-law, ask for more later, I don’t want to eat now.”

Feng Tianzhi looked at the elderly lady with a bewildered expression. He had seen opportunists before, but never anyone as adept as her. How did he suddenly become the future grandson-in-law?

He hadn’t intended to offer her another fruit plate. He regretted what he had said earlier. If the elderly lady took it seriously, what should he do?

”Grandson-in-law, why do you look like that?” The elderly lady scrutinized him, gesturing at the fruit plate, ”Having second thoughts about giving me this fruit?”

Feng Tianzhi looked helpless: ”Auntie, if you want to eat, I’ll order another plate for you. But, could you please stop calling me ’grandson-in-law’?”

”Then what should I call you?” The elderly lady looked at him confusedly, ”My granddaughter’s name is E’er, how about ’Son-in-law of E’er’?” Then she shook her head, ”No, that’s not appropriate, it hasn’t been finalized yet, such a title would take advantage of E’er...”

Feng Tianzhi glanced at Luo Ye, who had her eyes closed and suspiciously twitching at the corners of her mouth. He sighed, ”If you want to laugh, just laugh. Don’t hold it in and harm yourself.”

Luo Ye quickly denied it: ”I wasn’t... wasn’t thinking of laughing.”

”Then why is the corner of your mouth twitching?”

”You might want to check your vision.” Luo Ye pretended to be serious and wiped her mouth, ”I was just absentmindedly thinking about our Dou Dou at home, which made me happy.”

”Young man, there’s no chance between you and her.” The elderly lady smacked her lips, ”If she had feelings for you, hearing me say this, she’d have gotten anxious. She wouldn’t be so happy.”

”Auntie...” Feng Tianzhi looked at the elderly lady, unsure what to say. For the first time, he felt evenly matched.

The nearby passengers who could hear their conversation couldn’t help but smile at the corners of their mouths. A boring journey became enjoyable thanks to this unexpected situation.

”Cough... cough...”

Feng Tianzhi turned to look at Liu Xing, whose face was red and neck was thick from holding back: ”Is it that funny?”

”No, no, I just choked on water. I’m going to the restroom.” Liu Xing said as he quickly got up to go to the restroom, but his shoulder movement seemed suspicious.

”Everyone is happy for you.” The elderly lady looked delightedly at Feng Tianzhi, ”It shows that as soon as people see me, they know my granddaughter must be good, and it also shows you’re a great young man...”

Feng Tianzhi looked speechlessly at the elderly lady, ”Auntie, thanks for the compliment; I’d like to ask you a question, who do you admire the most?”

”Of course, myself.” The elderly lady said matter-of-factly.

”Got it.” Feng Tianzhi said as he closed his eyes.

The elderly lady patted him, ”Don’t sleep, listen to Auntie chat with you. Hao Jianxiu, you know her, right? Currently the Vice Chairman at the National Development and Reform Commission.

She was once one of my soldiers and respected me greatly. When she returned to Island City, I was the first person she met.

This time, my trip to Beijing was because of her invitation. She took two days off from her busy schedule to accompany me everywhere, including to Yihe Garden, The Palace Museum, the Great Wall, and many other places.

She even had me lie on the bed where the Emperor used to sleep. If you end up with our E’er, wouldn’t your path be smooth?”

Feng Tianzhi noticed that several nearby passengers were straining their ears to listen and looked at the elderly lady with interest, ”Auntie, what do you see in me?”

”Good looks and a good personality.” The elderly lady smiled contentedly, ”Finding a grandson-in-law like you would allow me to hold beautiful and smart great-grandchildren. I’m almost seventy, can’t wait much longer...”

Luo Ye rubbed the corners of her mouth forcefully, then looked mischievously at Feng Tianzhi.

Feng Tianzhi’s lips curled with a mischievous grin, ”Auntie, you just want a handsome grandson-in-law with a good personality to have even more beautiful and intelligent great-grandchildren, right?”

The elderly lady nodded, ”That’s about right, and of course, he should treat my granddaughter well too.”

Feng Tianzhi glanced at Luo Ye, pulled out a photo from his bag, and handed it to the elderly lady: ”Do you like this person?”

”Hmm, this young man is really handsome, even more than you. From his eyes, you can tell he’s smart...” The elderly lady paused, returning the photo to Feng Tianzhi, ”But our E’er can’t find someone like him, she wouldn’t be able to keep him; you’re more suitable.”

Seeing Feng Tianzhi’s smug smile turn stiff, Luo Ye buried her head in her legs, laughing uncontrollably. Serves him right for showing off Ye Xuan’s photo!

”Young man, don’t make that face; once you meet our E’er, you won’t look like this anymore.” The elderly lady leaned forward and patted his shoulder, ”Rest up; our E’er dislikes guys without any spirit.”

Feng Tianzhi: ”...”

....

The elderly lady didn’t let go of Feng Tianzhi’s clothes from the moment they got off the plane. Despite Feng Tianzhi’s mischievous personality, he couldn’t possibly try to remove an elderly lady’s hand, so he had to plead with a grim expression, ”Auntie, could you please let go?”

The elderly lady shook her head, ”No, you are confused right now. If I let go, I can’t guarantee you won’t run off. We’ll wait until you’ve met my granddaughter; if you both feel it’s unsuitable, I’ll definitely let go.”

”Auntie, your granddaughter will blame you if you do this,” Feng Tianzhi advised gently, ”Girls dislike it when elders interfere; it embarrasses them.”

”It’s okay, my E’er knows that whatever I do is for her good and won’t blame me.” As she spoke, the elderly lady meaningfully glanced at Luo Ye, ”Little girl, would you feel embarrassed?”

Luo Ye quickly waved her hand, ”Auntie, don’t pull me into this. I don’t know.”

The elderly lady excitedly pointed at a girl in the distance, ”Look, that’s my granddaughter.”

Luo Ye and company looked in the direction the elderly lady pointed and saw a girl in her early twenties, about 170 cm tall, with a sexy figure and beautiful face smiling as she approached.

Luo Ye and Liu Xing both showed shocked expressions. After all the fuss from the elderly lady, they thought her granddaughter would not be particularly attractive, but were surprised to see such a beautiful woman.

Feng Tianzhi’s face, however, turned gloomy: ”Auntie, you’ve put on quite a show, care to explain who the director is?”
