Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 582: Chapter 349: Making Up (Part 3)

From afar, Ye Xuan watched the two figures swaying on the drill ground, his eyes clear and bright.

When Luo Ye arrived at the tent, Qiao Xiaowan was just about to change. Seeing her come in, Qiao Xiaowan smiled sweetly, ”Morning.”

”Morning,” Luo Ye replied, her gaze quietly sweeping the tent before smiling at Qiao Xiaowan, ”Hurry up and get changed.”

Qiao Xiaowan pointed at a box of shoes, ”I’m getting my shoes.”

Luo Ye quickly moved aside, accidentally tripping over her left foot with her right, and stumbled to the ground. She got up awkwardly, laughed at herself, ”I’m really not used to your sudden change of attitude.”

Qiao Xiaowan patted off the dust from Luo Ye’s trousers soothingly, ”Luo Ye, I couldn’t sleep all of last night and finally figured it out. Since you and Ye Xuan have come this far, it’s indeed quite shameful for me to keep clinging on. So, I’ve decided to control myself and not to meddle in your affairs, hoping we still have the chance to be friends.”

”I hope so too,” Luo Ye’s smile curled up at the corner of her lips, ”Hurry and change.”

”Okay!” Qiao Xiaowan nodded vigorously, picked up the shoebox, and waved to Luo Ye, ”You too, hurry up. Do your best!”

”Do your best!”

”You guys...” Bai Yan, who happened to lift the curtain and come in, looked surprised, ”What’s going on with you two?”

”Foes who can resolve their issues might as well be friends. Since Xiaowan has figured things out and won’t target me anymore, I can’t be petty can I? Sister Bai, go get changed.” Luo Ye said as she headed into the dressing room.

Bai Yan shook her head in confusion, muttered under her breath and quickly grabbed her clothes and shoes before dashing into the dressing room.

When Lin Tuanzhang and Su Sha arrived at the tent, they saw Luo Ye, Qiao Xiaowan, and Bai Yan laughing and chatting in harmony. A flicker of confusion crossed their eyes but was quickly replaced by joy. After all, it’s good that everyone gets along, as it would lead to better cooperation.

”Ladies, are you all ready?” Lin Tuanzhang asked with a beaming smile.

”Yes!” The three of them responded in unison.

”Good, I’m looking forward to throwing a celebration banquet for you!” Lin Tuanzhang nodded with satisfaction and said to Su Sha, ”Leave their matters to you then. I’m going to visit the other departments.”

”Sure, Sister Lin, you go ahead,” Su Sha nodded and looked at the three of them, smiling, ”Don’t be nervous when you get on stage. First, announce in Chinese, then in English. No matter what happens offstage, don’t lose your footing. The stage is your battlefield, understand?”

”Understood!” The three nodded together.

”There’s half an hour to start. Sort out any personal issues and then get ready. By the way, you didn’t get on stage in the second half yesterday, did you bring the military uniforms you were supposed to wear on stage?”

”We brought them.”

Su Sha relaxed, ”That’s good.”

The three women went to the restroom together, and halfway there, Qiao Xiaowan clutched her stomach, ”I can’t, I don’t feel so good. You two go ahead; I need to get something.”

”Hurry back,” Bai Yan instructed, linking arms with Luo Ye as they walked to the restroom, muttering, ”She’s from General Politics, how could she be so nervous before going on?”

”Maybe she’s thinking about outdoing the two of us?” Luo Ye joked.

”Could be, but I’m surprised by her change of attitude today,” Bai Yan shook her head, ”She really can let go.”

”Hehe...” Luo Ye chuckled but said nothing.

The three sat at the junction between the backstage and the frontstage, with Qiao Xiaowan nervously twisting her hands. Bai Yan looked at her with puzzlement, ”Xiao Wan, what’s wrong with you?”

”Nothing, probably feeling a bit uneasy because it came suddenly,” Qiao Xiaowan replied and took out three cups from a drawer, filled them with water from a thermos, and handed one to each, ”Drink a bit to warm up; it’s still kind of cold so we don’t shiver when we go on stage.”

Luo Ye pointed at the drawer, ”I put some sugar cubes in there; you take them out.”

”Sure, but I won’t add any, they’re fattening,” Qiao Xiaowan bent down to find the sugar cubes, handed them to Luo Ye, and nudged Bai Yan who was peeking back at the stage, ”What are you looking at, Sister Bai? Do you want some sugar cubes?”

”No thanks,” Bai Yan waved her hand without turning back.
