Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 559: Chapter 336: Informing/Good News

Yu Wenze swept his gaze across the faces of the four, lips curling into a smile: ”Finished.” As his voice fell, the answers to their final question were simultaneously displayed on the big screen.

Luo Ye and Wu Zetian’s answers were the same, a simple systemic response: ”1. Software malfunction, 2. Hardware malfunction, 3. Power not connected.”

Zhan Hao’s answer, in addition to the systematic response, included detailed breakdowns such as damages to various types of hardware and poor contact of certain hardware, but due to time constraints, he did not manage to list everything.

Yu Na’s answer was the longest, systematically addressing both software and hardware issues and listing possible malfunctions. Due to time constraints, the hardware issues were not clearly listed.

”Starting today, Luo Ye and Wu Zetian will serve as my assistants in the current stage of development, while Zhan Hao and Yu Na will handle peripheral work. I will assign you some minor cases to work on.

You’ll be working in the lab every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 to 10 pm. If there’s an emergency, ask for leave in advance.

All I can give you is the knowledge I’ve acquired, no salary involved. Think it through, I do not wish to see any unnecessary strife later.”

As Yu Wenze finished speaking, Yu Na stood up: ”Report!”

”Speak!”

”I want to know why Professor Yu Wen made such a choice. If everything depended on the last question, I admit that I missed the part about the power connection. However, Zhan Hao answered it and even detailed the specifics. Why was he not selected either?”

”Good.” Yu Wenze motioned for her to sit down: ”To all of you, the final question wasn’t really a challenge. If an actual problem was in front of you, any of you could have solved it quickly.

To be honest, all four of you exceeded my expectations, and I’m satisfied with your foundations. But why did I present such a question at the end?

The reason is very simple. The previous ninety-nine questions gradually increased in difficulty, and under normal circumstances, people develop an inertial thinking, believing the last question can’t be that simple and must have some catch to it.

But the top talents needed in research are those who are truly confident, unfazed by any external factors, and adept at expressing issues in the simplest language.

This is also why I paused for so long on the last question and kept reminding everyone to think clearly. Luo Ye and Wu Zetian have always been unaffected by me.

Zhan Hao and Yu Na, clearly, both of you overcomplicated the issue, especially you Yu Na. You completely missed the simplest possibility.

What does this tell us? In your mind, you’ve made success and failure too important, and it actually restricted your thinking, affecting your performance. I still keep you because of your solid foundation and I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

”Yes!” Yu Na rose to her feet, looking somewhat listless. Such an idiotic oversight, she truly hadn’t considered it at all.

”Zhan Hao, breakfast was good today. Luo Ye, I don’t like porridge that’s gone cold, remember that.” Yu Wenze said while gathering his items.

Luo Ye was momentarily startled, then remembered, she and Zhan Hao were supposed to bring breakfast to this esteemed professor for a month. She quickly replied: ”Yes!”

”Yu Na, move my materials and notebook to the office; the four of you will take turns.” Yu Wenze spoke and then waved his hand, leaving first.

Reluctantly, Yu Na moved to the podium, picked up the notebook, and, holding the materials, followed out.

”Let’s celebrate!” Wu Zetian said excitedly, reaching out his hand. Luo Ye slapped it: ”Shared joy!” Zhan Hao yanked Luo Ye’s hand away, slamming it down on Wu Zetian’s palm: ”Kid, trying to take advantage of my sister-in-law?”

”What in the world are you talking about?” Luo Ye’s face showed a bitter smile, and suddenly she remembered she still needed to address Wen Ke’s request, now that the issue had been resolved. But how should she broach the topic?

Seeing her furrowed brows, Wu Zetian asked in confusion: ”Luoluo, is there something troubling you?”

”There really is, and it concerns you. I don’t know how to say it.” Luo Ye looked at him, torn.

”Just say it straight.” Wu Zetian smiled: ”Why be so formal with me?”

”Should I leave?” Zhan Hao spoke then swiftly denied himself, ”No, no, something discussed behind others’ backs by a man and a woman alone can’t be good. For the sake of my brother, I cannot leave. You can consider me as air.”

”Zhan Hao, why are you being so silly too?” Luo Ye kicked him: ”Looking for a beating?”

Zhan Hao put away his joking demeanor, ”Alright, no more jokes. Do you want me to leave or not?”

”No need.” Luo Ye waved her hand, her expression serious as she looked at Wu Zetian: ”Old Wu, I have a question for you. What do you think of my cousin Wen Ke?”
