She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1232: Chapter 1302: Plan Change

“Are you a pig? How can you eat so much?” Yoda cursed irritably, “If you keep shouting, I’ll kill you.”

“You dare?” Sheng Ning replied disdainfully, “I actually hope you guys kill me. Go ahead and try? After all, I don’t want to live anymore.”

Xiao Si, who had previously taken money from Xu Mo, tried to persuade, “Give them some food, what are you fussing with someone nearly dead for?”

“Hmph!” Yoda snorted angrily and threw two buns inside.

Li Xia, who had been observing the situation, turned back to glance at the ventilation opening suspiciously.

“What’s wrong, boss?”

“Speed up, Xu Qigang is catching up,” Li Xia urged. All along this route, she felt uneasy for some unknown reason, and just now, the feeling had reached its peak.

Maybe something happened to Sinong?

Inside the carriage, Sheng Ning joyfully picked up the buns from the ground, wiped them off, and hid them in her clothes pocket. To disguise her identity, Li Xia had changed her tied hands from behind to the front and switched her clothing to a simple peasant woman’s coarse outfit.

Sheng Ning felt quite satisfied instead; the more inconspicuous she looked, the easier it would be to escape later.

“Why are you collecting buns?” Xu Mo asked quietly.

The carriage was too dark, making Xu Mo very uncomfortable, and he felt suffocated.

“Preparing for escape.”

“Oh!” Xu Mo felt terribly stifled and spoke weakly.

Sheng Ning reassured him, “Don’t give up. We still need to escape together!”

“Can we really escape?”

“We definitely can, and Xu Qigang and the others will come to rescue us. But before that, we have to ensure that we don’t become their bargaining chips; otherwise, we’ll just be a burden to them.”

They spoke very quietly, and suddenly heard voices outside. Sheng Ning defensively covered Xu Mo’s mouth, her ear pressed against the ventilation opening to listen carefully.

“We can’t leave from here,” Li Xia suddenly said dejectedly, “Originally, we thought Shen Yu could hold all the rescue attention, but he turned out to be useless, probably dead by now.”

“Can’t be that fast, Captain?” Yoda asked incredulously.

“Not just Shen Yu; Sinong is probably dead too,” Li Xia’s mind was racing, “Our plan to take the sea route has been exposed, and Living Yama hasn’t stormed in only because he’s afraid of hurting the hostages.”

“What should we do then?”

Li Xia suddenly turned, staring straight at Yoda, “It’s your turn to prove your loyalty now. Rest assured, once you’re dead, your family will live.”

Yoda slammed on the brakes; if not for Xu Mo holding her, Sheng Ning would have surely fallen.

“Captain, th-thank you.”

“You take the man inside, change direction, and head south. Act as if everything is the same as before.”

“… I, I…”

“What? You want your family to die with you?”

“No, no… I’m willing.”

“Hmm!” Li Xia nodded, offering a slap then a sweet reward, “Take the car, take all the manpower with you. Rest assured, you might not die.”

“Thank you, Captain.”

Just before entering Jingang, Sheng Ning and Xu Mo were forcibly separated; Li Xia detained Sheng Ning and continued towards the harbor. Yoda changed course, heading south.

At Jingang Pier, An’an and Chen Huaying were weaving back and forth in increasing tension as the sun edged downwards.

“An’an, did you miscalculate?” Chen Huaying squatted on a small boat, feeling dizzy and nauseous from the rocking. Since last night, they’d quietly left school, driving Qin Yue’s car southeast.
