She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1223: Chapter 1293: Owe You a Life

”What should we do with this one?”

”A useless waste, kill him!” Li Xia was short on manpower, but Sheng Ning alone was just right, very easy to manage. Bringing along another one would be a burden, it’d be better to finish him off swiftly.”

”No, no, no... I’m very useful.” Xu Mo dropped to his knees with a thud, ”I’m very obedient. I’ll do whatever you ask.”

”Do you think I’m stupid?” Li Xia took out a gun, ready to pull the trigger, Sheng Ning shouted, ”Stop!”

”Why? You can’t even protect yourself and yet you want to save others?” Li Xia glanced at Sheng Ning, surprised.

”That’s right!” Sheng Ning nodded defiantly, ”I can cooperate with you in everything, but the condition is to spare his life. If you kill him, I’ll commit suicide. If I die, all your plans will be for nothing.”

”Will you?” Li Xia asked softly, ”Your eyes tell me you can’t bear to die.”

”I can’t bear to die, but it also depends on the situation. Don’t forget, I am a worker comrade, and I can’t just stand by and watch ordinary civilians be killed in front of me without doing anything.”

Li Xia froze for a moment, thoughtfully watching her. How could she forget this? These people are like madmen, once it’s about their duties, they’ll do anything.

During the day, wasn’t she the one who ordered the shooting?

”Fine! Bring him along too.”

”Thank you, thank you.” Xu Mo looked at Sheng Ning with tears in his eyes, whispering, ”I owe you my life.”

”You better behave, or I can kill you anytime.” Yoda threatened viciously, he dragged them and shoved them into a very shabby three-wheeled truck.

The kind used most in the eighties, a Dongfeng.

Li Xia left first, leaving behind half the guns and ammunition. Shen Yu’s head hurt so much he almost wanted to smash it into the wall, and the dizziness he’d been fighting finally exploded after Li Xia left.

”Ah... ah...” He shouted like a madman, kicking whatever he saw.

”Director, Director, are you okay?” Jia Meng wanted to approach but was just beaten a few times by him, so he stood by helplessly.

”Ah ah ah...” Shen Yu dunked his head into the water, only coming up when he was about to suffocate.

”Director, how are you?”

His entire face was blue and purple, terrifyingly fierce. Just as Jia Meng was about to approach, he suddenly grabbed the machine gun on the ground and charged out.

Jia Meng was shocked and quickly picked up a gun and chased after him.

Sinong watched in amazement. She didn’t expect that, despite Shen Yu looking grim and scary before, he seemed normal. Who knew he’d go crazy right after the captain left.

Staying with such a madman, who knows when he might go mad and get someone killed.

”Sinong, what should we do?”

”We retreat.” Sinong’s original mission was to go back and kill Meng Xingzhi. Now is the most chaotic time in the Northern District, and Shen Yu has attracted everyone’s attention, giving her the perfect chance to fish in troubled waters.

”Okay!”

The two of them tidied up, ate a bit, equipped themselves with weapons and money. Once ready, they quietly opened the front door of the old house.

This was a rural thatched house, common in the countryside, made with earth and thatched roofing. The back had three big rooms, and there was a back door left in the middle of the big house, probably for summer ventilation, with a yard in front where the kitchen was built. It was so low that one had to bend down to enter.
