She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1189: Chapter 1253: The Operation Begins

Eventually, the two listened to Su Jiang’s suggestion and agreed to first move back to the compound. Moreover, Xu Qigang had his own considerations, worried that when he’s not home, Xiao Ning would have difficulty acting alone and couldn’t take good care of herself.

Since the speed of the car couldn’t be fast, Sheng Ning took the opportunity to chat.

”Living Yama, I heard you caught Meng Ping?”

”It wasn’t me who caught him, it was Zhao Changqi.”

Sheng Ning made a funny face, it really wasn’t you, but would Zhao Changqi dare to catch anyone without you saying so?

”Keep him locked up a bit longer,” she said mischievously.

Xu Qigang’s lips curled into a thin smile, ”I was thinking of doing just that.”

Actually, the real reason for catching Meng Ping is only known by Chairman Shen and Chairman Meng. Last time, Meng Ping saw Li Xia’s true face, and it’s very likely he would be killed to silence him.

Keeping him detained is for his safety.

This Demon Lord of Mayhem, expecting him to stay obediently at the compound is simply impossible. The President had proposed it several times before, but they were ignored by Meng Ping.

This time, he’s just turning the situation to his advantage.

Summer nights always arrive late, the night sky is vast, stars filled the sky. Past midnight, Xu Qigang’s tall figure unhurriedly left the compound, passing by the guard post at the entrance, immediately receiving a silent greeting from the comrade on duty.

Recently, although everything is the same as usual, yet the reality is relaxed but tight. Including the compound guards, recon officers from the War Wolf Rescue Team have been stationed, and the ones just on duty were part of the first squad of the War Wolf Rescue Team.

Each of them is experienced, and surely their Captain going out is to carry out a secret mission.

Indeed, not far from the compound, a secret squad was already lurking. Probably around one hundred people, all dressed in unified dark green operational suits, with helmets and night lights on their heads.

Every person holding a gun, fully alert, lurking in the darkness. Even with the starry sky illuminating the ground in silvery white, they can still lurk like beasts in the dark, waiting for a chance to strike.

This squad was led by Shangguan Tao and Chen Yingjie, the two cooperated quite smoothly, especially Chen Yingjie with extensive experience executing such missions.

While Shangguan Tao had detailed control over the overall situation.

Tonight’s operation was a lead achieved after Shangguan Tao spent over two months of effort. Previously, due to Meng Ping, Li Xia and others were let go, and subsequent pursuits have been ineffective.

After this, Xu Qigang formulated a new operation plan. He ordered everyone to settle down, creating a surface appearance of severity with internal relaxation for the enemy.

Once the enemy lowered their guard, they would be annihilated.

During this period, Chen Yingjie and Shangguan Tao were constantly busy with this task, and after two months of search, have finally found the enemy hideout. Based on their information, the enemy’s numbers keep increasing.

This time, to ensure no mishaps, Xu Qigang personally stepped in.

”The Captain is here!” Chen Yingjie put his unlit cigarette into his pocket. During night missions, regulations prohibit smoking, if the addiction kicks in, they can only smell the cigarette aroma.

”Captain, your gear is here.” Shangguan Tao swiftly handed Xu Qigang his gun, bullets, and telescope one by one.

”Hmm!” Xu Qigang quickly prepared, ”Action.”

”Yes!”

With the command, the action squad flowed silently through the city like a black tide. Upon reaching the location marked on Chen Yingjie’s map, the action squad was anonymously ordered to hide and maintain vigilance.
