She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 525: Chapter 546 Pretend Not to Hear

“I’ll walk you home,” Qin Yue said seriously, putting away his playful expression, “I promise I won’t do anything out of line.”

In the end, Sheng An was still half-dragged by Qin Yue all the way to the village. There weren’t many people on the roads at noon, and large snowflakes fluttered down from the sky. Sheng An huddled up as Qin Yue easily carried the basket of beansprouts.

“Are you cold?”

Sheng An didn’t respond to him.

“How about I hold you? Your husband’s embrace is quite warm, I guarantee you’ll be satisfied.”

Sheng An gave him an annoyed look; this man really had a thick skin.

“This is too much for you,” he continued, “How about I just propose to your father today and take care of you from now on?”

“Are you from the union? Do you know Little Yama?” Sheng An decided to take the offensive and change the subject instead of enduring his constant harassment.

“Little Yama?” Qin Yue laughed, realizing he meant Living Yama. He hadn’t expected him to be so fierce even as a child back in his hometown. The name Little Yama really did suit his hooligan-like behavior.

“I know him!” Qin Yue had already thoroughly investigated Sheng Ning’s background during his last visit and knew that Living Yama was about to marry the girl’s sister.

“Ah…” Qin Yue smiled triumphantly, grabbing Sheng An’s hand, “Your brother-in-law and I are good brothers. Soon, we will be family by marriage. What a coincidence!”

Sheng An was speechless. Could she hit him? Would he not fight back?

“I think you should go and check out my brother-in-law’s home; who knows, you might be their long-lost son.”

Qin Yue was confused, “What do you mean?”

“Just go and see!” Finally able to perplex him, Sheng An’s small face beamed triumphantly. Her cheeks, reddened by the cold, looked like ripe apples, tempting enough to bite.

Indeed, Qin Yue had done just that. Otherwise, how could he have earned the nickname Little Hooligan if he were as dull as Living Yama?

Sheng An’s cheeks flushed even more as he gently bit her, leaving a faint mark. She stared at him in shock, frozen in place and speechless for a long while.

Seeing how adorable the girl looked, Qin Yue, who initially only wanted to give her a peck, now felt his heart being pulled. He couldn’t resist sealing her lips with his, deepening the kiss.

Sheng An finally reacted, struggling desperately, her face filled with unprecedented despair.

Qin Yue couldn’t bear it and finally let her go. “Girl, you are not allowed to smile at other men from now on. You wait for me to come and marry you, understand?”

“No, I didn’t hear that!” Sheng An bit her lip hard, her eyes brimming with tears. She was only eighteen, even younger than Sheng Ning by half a year. Although feisty, having been raised in the rural area, she had never experienced such a spectacle. Being able to speak at all was already quite remarkable.

“I’ll kiss you again then…” Qin Yue pretended to move forward, frightening Sheng An into hastily retreating.

“I agree, isn’t that enough?” Humph! She thought, just casually agreeing now. Once he leaves, she would reckon him a ghost.

“Mmm…” Qin Yue knew well the cunning plans in the little girl’s mind, but he didn’t mind. He would keep a close watch, ensuring she couldn’t escape his grasp.

Once she heard him agree, Sheng An quickly ran home. When she arrived, she found that her basket had once again reached home before her.

This little hooligan, she would definitely tell her sister to have her brother-in-law give him a good beating. He’s just too wicked, not a good person at all.
