She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 108: Chapter 108 Women Hold Up Half the Sky

Her eyes, limpid as autumn waters, blinked once, then again. She reacted a bit slowly and turned to look at Wu Youli on her left.

The thin-skinned girl was covering her eyes with her hands. Sheng Ning pointed out the gaps between her fingers and said, “You’re peeking.”

“You… you’re so bold, how can you still be watching?” Wu Youli’s face was as red as an apple; she stamped her foot and turned away.

Sheng Ning revealed a fox-like cunning smile and teased, “The instructor brought us here to watch other people’s training, so why are you covering your eyes? How can you watch like that?”

“Don’t talk about it anymore!” Wu Youli felt like she was going to die of embarrassment.

“Did I say something wrong?” Sheng Ning looked seriously at the training field once more and noticed that the members of the War Wolf Rescue Team had clearly been rigorously selected. Their overall quality was exceptional, and that iron-blooded aura they emitted commanded respect.

...
She searched carefully but did not spot Xu Qigang. Actually, there was no need to look for him. Xu Qigang was taller than the average person, and combined with his commanding presence, he stood out in a crowd, naturally making people give way.

It was hard not to notice him.

Sheng Ning felt a slight sense of disappointment in her heart, but at the same time, she breathed a sigh of relief. The incident that happened in the canteen today was known by everyone, and she was really afraid Xu Qigang would also come looking for trouble with her.

“The instructor is being a hooligan.” Yang Xiaoman and a group of girls with thin skins bowed their heads, too embarrassed to meet anyone’s gaze.

Dai Bin was flabbergasted. What… what happened to him? Was he wrong to bring them to expand their horizons? Others were begging for this opportunity without being able to get it! Didn’t he see that the people sent by the Provincial Rescue Center were enviously standing aside and watching?

“Attention!” At the command, everyone reacted instantly; their bodies subconsciously formed a well-aligned queue without a second thought.

Dai Bin might have been slow to react, but he was not stupid. He also realized that the female comrades were feeling embarrassed, but he believed that when it came to the rescue field, there was no distinction between men and women.

He immediately glared at everyone with sharp eyes and barked, “Stand properly, all of you! Normally you can’t even stand correctly. Look at how others are training.”

“But instructor, we are women.”

“Yes, we…”

“So what if you are women?” Dai Bin’s eyes widened fiercely, scaring everyone into silence.

“Being women, does that mean you won’t die on the rescue field? Weapons don’t have eyes. Besides, don’t you women always say that you can ‘hold up half the sky’? Tsk… it seems that was just talk.”

“Don’t you look down on women, instructor.” Chen Huaying was the first to jump up, “We’ll look, who says I’m embarrassed?” She had seen plenty of her brother’s muscles, and had even had the privilege of seeing Living Yama’s muscles once! That was something that could make a woman blush and faint.

Ha! They’re nothing compared to Living Yama.

“Exactly!”

“That’s good to hear. I don’t want to be the one who trains a bunch of pussies.”

On the training field, what was underway was a thirty-meter crawl under a barbed wire with a load-bearing exercise. Each person had sandbags tied to their legs, and with only a pair of trousers on, they moved swiftly under the wire without any hesitation or messiness.

Moreover, with a group of them standing on the sidelines, the people in training didn’t even glance their way once. Everyone couldn’t help but feel respect; usually, no matter where they went, they would attract countless gazes, but in front of real warriors, their self-satisfaction was simply laughable.

“Each of them has a twenty-kilogram sandbag tied to them.” Dai Bin proudly introduced, “What you see now is only the most basic. There’s still endurance training in extreme heat to come.”

“Oh my!” everyone murmured softly in amazement. They couldn’t even stand properly, feeling ashamed in their hearts.
