Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 248: Chapter 155: Level 3 [Cave Mansion]; Wish-Fulfilling [Grotto Heaven]

Letting the Big Toad in, Ji Yuan wondered about testing the power of the Star Dust Illusionary Killing Array on it...

But he was worried that the array might be too powerful and could injure the Big Toad.

After thinking it over, he decided against it. After all, it’s been more than a year since they’ve seen each other; he couldn’t just experiment on the Big Toad since it had been living pretty well.

After all, this past year, the Big Toad hadn’t been living all that great either.

Once the Star Illusionary Killing Array was concealed, Mist Island returned to its former calm state.

Tu Yue was already quietly building houses, and Ji Yuan looked at the panel again.

The Array Room had upgraded to Level 2, naturally revealing the third level of Spirit Effects.

Array Room: Level 3 (Not Upgradeable)

Spirit Effect 1: Insight into Tier One Arrays +60%, Tier Two Arrays +40%, Tier Three Arrays +20%, Tier Four Arrays +5%

Spirit Effect 2 (Inverted Dipper): The array ”Inverted Dipper Array” can be obtained.

Upgrade Conditions: Mid-grade Spirit Stones x500; Nine Star Stones x2 pieces; Celestial River Sand x1 pound; Upgrade one set of Tier Two Array to Tier Three Array. (Not Achieved)

Spirit Effect 1 naturally resulted from regular upgrades.

As for Spirit Effect 2... one can obtain another array, named the Inverted Dipper Array.

So looking at it this way, the current Level 2 Array Room actually has two Spirit Effects?

Yet, the Star Dust Illusionary Killing Array hasn’t been listed as a separate effect, while the Inverted Dipper Array has.

What does this indicate?

It indicates that this array... probably isn’t ordinary!

The upgrade conditions present some difficulty. Not to mention upgrading Tier Two Arrays to Tier Three, the Nine Star Stones and Celestial River Sand alone indicate some level of challenge with their quantities.

Like the Tier 2 Array Room requiring Meteorite Stone and Illusionary Spirit Sand, which weren’t in small numbers, but Ji Yuan could easily purchase them...

We’ll have to wait and see later; for now, this Level 2 Array Room suffices.

With the Array Room upgraded, next up is the Cave Mansion.

Ji Yuan glanced at the panel.

Looking at the upgrade conditions for the Level 3 Cave Mansion.

Upgrade Conditions: Cultivation at Foundation Establishment Stage, Mid-grade Spirit Stones x50, Starlight Stone x10 pounds. (Achieved)

Previously unable to upgrade, it was simply bound by the hard condition of cultivation.

Now that the conditions have been met, upgrading is naturally a piece of cake.

As for the Starlight Stone, this quantity alone shows it’s not rare.

Ji Yuan had already purchased it.

Moreover, a Level 3 Cave Mansion can obtain a Tier Two Array ”Star Spiral Cloud Barrier;” one wonders how it compares to the Star Dust Illusionary Killing Array?

With this thought in mind, Ji Yuan learned his lesson and returned to the Cave Mansion.

He wanted to see firsthand the changes after the Cave Mansion upgrade.

Upon returning to the Cave Mansion, he first activated the Level 2 Cave Mansion’s Spirit Effect.

Immediately, all the dust inside the Cave Mansion and the moss on the stone walls started disappearing at a visible speed.

Ji Yuan did not wait any longer and took out 50 Mid-grade Spirit Stones along with 10 pounds of Starlight Stone.

After consecutive upgrades and the earlier substantial consumption of Spirit Stones for the Foundation Establishment, Ji Yuan’s Storage Bag was almost empty...

”Perhaps I should hold an island opening banquet to collect some funds again?”

Ji Yuan dismissed the thought as soon as it arose.

Holding a celebration to collect gifts might bring a temporary fortune, but the risk and attention for such a small gain aren’t worth it.

Furthermore, having successfully established the foundation, there’s more stability now.

As long as he focuses on cultivation, wealth will naturally come.

Without looking too far, just selling the remaining 10 Foundation Establishment Pills or the Tier Two Demon Pills from his Storage Bag would instantly make him rich.

And not just ordinarily rich.

Regarding the Starlight Stone, Ji Yuan initially thought it would come in small pieces, but when he bought it, he found it was actually a large chunk of ore, to be cut to desired size.

Placed in the dark, it indeed emitted a faint white glow, properly living up to its name as ”starlight.”

Upgrade again!

Having just upgraded the Array Room, he now chose to upgrade the Cave Mansion.

While the Array Room upgraded to Level 2 didn’t have significant apparent changes except for the additional array patterns on the stone walls, which could be toggled on and off, allowing Ji Yuan to hide them if he found them displeasing.

Now the Cave Mansion upgrading to Level 3 showed marked changes.

The entire cave emitted a green light, accompanied by a gentle breeze, refreshing to the soul.

The previously damp and moldy smell in the Cave Mansion also dissipated, replaced with a faint fragrance.

It seemed like a floral scent but also resembled the fragrance of elixirs.

Following this, characters rich with Daoist charm appeared on the stone walls, and Ji Yuan’s Divine Sense swept through them.

Words like ”Nature Follows the Dao,” ”The Heavens Reward Diligence” appeared mundane yet upon closer inspection, showed no anomalies.

In the end, he could only chalk it up to... elevated presence.

Certainly, the Level 3 Cave Mansion is purely for added presence, but as the Cave Mansion continues upgrading to Level 10 or 100, who knows?

By that time, just a glance at a single character might grant instant enlightenment, leading to ascension!
