Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 231: Chapter 149: Foundation Establishment Today! [Triple-Length Chapter]

”A full 20 Foundation Establishment Pills, if this isn’t enough to establish my foundation, I’ll just end it right here and stop cultivating!”

Ji Yuan silently swore to himself and then put away the Jade Box once again.

He still had enough time, so he planned to take a nap first, relax for a few days, and wait until his state returned to its peak before attempting to achieve Foundation Establishment!

Five days passed by leisurely.

With his body and mind both reaching their peak, Ji Yuan took out a full 200 Mid-grade Spirit Stones from his Storage Bag, and then placed the 20 Foundation Establishment Pills by his side.

With this arrangement, there’s no reason not to succeed in establishing the foundation!

He took a deep breath, his Divine Sense summoned two Mid-grade Spirit Stones, his left and right hands each grasping one, and then he began to operate his Cultivation Technique, slowly absorbing the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi within.

Along with the infusion of pure Spiritual Qi, a long-lost feeling of comfort arose in his meridians.

The Spiritual Qi coursed through the meridians, circulating in a cycle, finally entering the Dantian in his abdomen.

This way, the already nearly full Dantian gave a sensation of being slightly stuffed, but this was still not enough—the true fullness of the Dantian should be felt as a swelling pain before it is complete.

Only after this point would be the right time to consume the Foundation Establishment Pill.

The Foundation Establishment Pill contained a profound compressive force that could help the cultivator compress the gaseous Spiritual Qi within the Dantian, liquefying it, and also had the effect of stabilizing the Dantian.

If the Foundation Establishment Pill is not taken, yet the Spiritual Qi is forcibly compressed.

If one is fortunate, there is no issue; if unlucky, a misstep could destroy the Dantian, and when that time comes, one would truly become a wreck!

Afterwards, Ji Yuan spent a little over half a month absorbing 16 Mid-grade Spirit Stones, thoroughly filling his Dantian, then with a thought, summoned a Foundation Establishment Pill and swallowed it.

As soon as the Foundation Establishment Pill entered his body, it was immediately refined.

Ji Yuan dared not delay, instantly guiding the medicinal power into his Dantian... Spiritual Qi, compress for me!

With full exertion, Ji Yuan immediately felt the stinging pain from his Dantian, but this pain was quickly soothed by the medicinal power of the Foundation Establishment Pill.

This allowed Ji Yuan to continue exerting force, trying to liquefy the Spiritual Qi.

But no matter how hard he tried, the Spiritual Qi in the Dantian was like a sponge—he pressed hard... the Spiritual Qi compressed down, but it just wouldn’t yield.

As soon as he slightly relaxed his mind, the Spiritual Qi would rebound, once again filling the entire Dantian.

Difficult.

Consuming this first Foundation Establishment Pill, Ji Yuan, buoyed by the medicinal power, tried continuously for two days, unsurprisingly without success.

He also understood where the difficulty lay.

Because he had four Spirit Roots, all of them in his Dantian were resisting, opposing him, so the difficulty... goes without saying.

If it were a Single Spirit Root, with only one Spirit Root as the foundation of resistance, the difficulty would naturally be much less.

After two days, Ji Yuan absorbed another Mid-grade Spirit Stone, as a supplement.

He wasn’t discouraged, nor did he intend to succeed in establishing the foundation with just one Foundation Establishment Pill; after all, he wasn’t an Earth Spirit Root, nor a True Spirit Root.

After resting for a while, he swallowed the second Foundation Establishment Pill.

Continue!

...

Time passed day by day.

The Nine Nether Cave Heaven had been open for two and a half months, with only half a month remaining before this Secret Realm would close completely.

Compared to when they first entered, there were far fewer people inside now.

Those satisfied with their harvest, or some who had experienced danger and been frightened into hesitation or fear, had all escaped early.

Those who had gained yet still wanted more, and those who hadn’t had much harvest yet.

Were still inside, fighting, contending for that glimmer of hope for establishing the foundation.

”Time is almost up, the remaining disciples are either at Hidden Dragon Abyss or at Ghost Flood Dragon Lake.”

The two acquainted Golden Core Zhenren communicated with each other telepathically.

Meanwhile, within Nine Nether Cave Heaven, in Ghost Flood Dragon Lake.

Han Feiyu and Feng Yichen were hiding on a small island piled with chaotic rocks, both panting heavily, their faces pale as can be.

”Brother Feng, did you see what the hell that was just now, damn it, too terrifying.”

Even someone as bold as Han Feiyu was frightened out of his wits in the face of this life-and-death crisis.

”A Tier Two mid-grade Ghost Arrow Fish.”

Feng Yichen had Divine Sense, naturally seeing clearly, hence even more afraid.

”Wasn’t it agreed there can’t be Tier Two Demon Beasts here, damn it!”

Whenever Han Feiyu recalled the arrow that had just brushed past his chest, chills ran down his spine.

”Ghost Flood Dragon Lake is a peculiar place, you know that.”

By comparison, Feng Yichen, who wasn’t being threatened by life or death, appeared much calmer.

”Brother Han, at this rate it’s not going very well. Leaving aside the treasure the Sect Leader wants, we haven’t even secured the thousand-year Illusion Spirit Grass.”

With these words, Han Feiyu, who was still a bit scared just moments ago, immediately calmed down.

Compared to fear, having no harvest at all was obviously more unacceptable to him.

”So what does Brother Feng propose?”

After swallowing a few elixirs, Han Feiyu asked tentatively.

He knew that when Feng Yichen said this, he must have already come up with a plan.

”The two of us team up, find someone to kill first, and at least ensure some harvest, then talk; as for the task entrusted by the Sect Leader... if we can’t complete it, forget it.”

”Alright!”

Han Feiyu readily agreed. Compared to going to that people-eating island, killing someone was much easier.

”Brother Feng, who do you suggest we kill?”

”Brother Han, what do you think?”

Feng Yichen asked in return.

Han Feiyu pondered for a moment, then replied: ”Certainly not the ones from Sword Ruins; there are three of them together, if we go there, we’re just sacrificing ourselves.”
