Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 243: Chapter 153: Foundation Establishment and the Creation of the Island

The west is indeed a bit too far. If there’s some trouble within the sect, it would take Hua Yaoyue some time to get here.

So after much consideration, the south seems the most suitable, especially since further south lies Mist Island.

”As for the south, does Uncle have any recommendations?”

Master Xuan Shui, being ”kind-hearted,” naturally led Ji Yuan to address him simply as Uncle instead of Sect Leader Martial Uncle.

Master Xuan Shui could naturally perceive this change, so he smiled and pointed, ”If it’s to the south, then the area’s Spiritual Qi is the most abundant.”

As his finger fell, the Geomancy Map continued to zoom in, and the scene Ji Yuan saw transformed from the entire Water Dragon Sect to a small section of the water.

Ji Yuan looked at the scene, lost in thought.

”Perhaps I should go take a look first, and once I’ve seen the area, I’ll reply to Uncle.”

”Certainly, just take this flag with you. When you have selected a location, plant this flag, and the sect will help you create your island.”

With that, Master Xuan Shui handed over a water-blue flag, which fell into Ji Yuan’s hands.

”Thank you, Uncle.”

”Yes, go on, this is my Communication Talisman. If you have any questions, just send me a message.”

While speaking, another golden Communication Talisman appeared in Ji Yuan’s hand.

Looking at things this way, it seemed this Sect Leader Martial Uncle indeed intended to establish good relations with his master. It’s enough that there are no conflicts... Ji Yuan put away the Communication Talisman, expressed his gratitude once more, and then left.

Master Xuan Shui folded his hands into his sleeves and watched ji Yuan depart with a smile.

To him, giving Ji Yuan the Communication Talisman or letting him choose the island site himself were trivial matters.

He also felt that such small matters placed on Ji Yuan would make him extremely grateful.

Not only could it help him forget previous unpleasantness, but it would also make him appreciative... Ji Yuan, with a Pseudo Spirit Root at the Foundation Establishment, naturally had little value for forging good relations, since no matter how amicable... Foundation Establishment Stage is the limit for a Pseudo Spirit Root.

In the thousands of years since the founding of Water Dragon Sect, only one person with a Pseudo Spirit Root had ever formed a Golden Core.

Master Xuan Shui did not believe Ji Yuan would become the next.

Feng Yichen’s chances of forming a core were higher than his.

What Master Xuan Shui truly wanted was to build relations with Master Wang You and Hua Yaoyue behind Ji Yuan... If she could stand on his side, even facing the Elder Council, his voice could carry more weight.

Though the hope was slim, still, whether or not anything comes of it, it’s worth a try.

After all, he wouldn’t lose anything.

With many thoughts in mind, Master Xuan Shui couldn’t help but feel a bit more hopeful.

According to the timeline, that side of the Nine Nether Cave Heaven should have concluded, I wonder if Feng Yichen managed to retrieve that artifact?

If he obtained that item, then his hundred-year career as Sect Leader would be worth it.

...

After receiving the flag, Ji Yuan didn’t delay further and flew south for half a day until he reached his designated area.

Once he arrived, he could immediately feel that the Spiritual Qi here was indeed more abundant than elsewhere.

’Beneath the Water Dragon Sect are Spirit Veins, so it seems this place should be a node of the Spirit Vein?’

Ji Yuan estimated internally.

Earlier, while in mid-air, he had sized up the surroundings.

No islands developed by Foundation Establishment cultivators were coming from the north.

Only in the east and west were there islands, and if he developed an island here, they would become his neighbors from now on.

Ji Yuan maneuvered the Flying Boat until it reached the water’s surface.

This water area had two or three small islands, but relatively, they were quite diminutive.

Since Ji Yuan had decided to develop an island, he naturally intended to manage it well as his foothold.

Of course, the same goes for Mist Island, though that’s considered a secondary home.

A cunning hare has three burrows.

Ji Yuan may not be a cunning hare, but having two burrows is necessary.

He circled the area once, eventually choosing a spot in the water for his island.

The waterway was far from the nearby islands, so even if they became neighbors... they would be distant neighbors. After the experience at Chulong Island, Ji Yuan wasn’t even comfortable with neighbors.

After selecting a location, he planted the flag in the center.

Following this, the flag emitted a water-blue Spiritual Light, enveloping the area Ji Yuan chose.

Subsequently, Ji Yuan felt an overwhelming power descend, and he quickly maneuvered his Flying Boat backward, avoiding the area.

At that time, the selected water region began to surge violently as if it were boiling, and his Divine Sense swept over it, clearly seeing the sandy bottom of the lake rising continuously.

Creating land from thin air.

This was precisely the means of the Water Dragon Sect’s Tier Four Sect Protection Array!

Ji Yuan had previously asked Phoenix Peach how the island was developed, wondering if he needed to dig stone and fill the lake to create land?

Phoenix Peach explained this matter to him.

A Tier Four Array could fend off Nascent Soul-level attacks, so altering the terrain was a simple task.

But witnessing it firsthand was still shocking to Ji Yuan.

Perhaps the commotion from creating the land was too significant; several streams of light flashed from the east and west in a short while, hovering nearby for a glance, and after sensing Ji Yuan’s presence, they all flew over.

Each showed a cheerful expression.

”Congratulations, Junior Brother, on successfully achieving Foundation Establishment and developing an island.”
