Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 242: Chapter 153: Foundation Establishment and Island Selection

”Disciple pays respects to Sect Leader Martial Uncle.”

Ji Yuan slightly cupped his hands towards Master Xuan Shui inside the Water Dragon Sect hall.

”Oh? Nephew Ji has arrived, come in then.”

Compared to before, Master Xuan Shui’s smile now seemed much more sincere.

It was as if he had completely forgotten about the previous incidents.

Well... that’s good.

Ji Yuan was pleased with this; otherwise, if Master Xuan Shui kept holding onto the past matters, he wouldn’t know how to interact.

It was better this way, everything felt natural... But upon second thought, Master Xuan Shui was indeed worthy of being a sect leader, with such magnanimity. Not ordinary at all.

These thoughts flashed through his mind as Ji Yuan stepped into the hall of the Water Dragon Sect.

”Sit, Nephew, take a seat.”

Master Xuan Shui first sat behind the main table.

”Yes.”

After slightly cupping his hands, Ji Yuan also took a seat at the side, waiting for the discussion to continue.

”The reason for summoning Nephew today is firstly our Water Dragon Sect’s tradition, and secondly to discuss Nephew’s establishment of an island.”

”I am at Martial Uncle’s disposal.”

Ji Yuan replied with a smile, giving Master Xuan Shui face.

”Hmm, Nephew managing to reach Foundation Establishment at such a young age must have gone through a lot of hardships. Do you have any suggestions for our sect...”

Then followed a series of questions.

Ji Yuan selected his responses carefully; after all, it was just a formality. Since for any suggestions about the sect... Master Xuan Shui wouldn’t be able to decide them anyway.

There were also questions about Ji Yuan’s feelings towards the sect.

Don’t ask.

If asked, it’s all good.

After completing the formalities, Master Xuan Shui pondered briefly before saying, ”The numerous disciples are the foundation and cornerstone of our Water Dragon Sect, and cultivators like Nephew at the Foundation Establishment stage are our backbone.”

”Nephew is surely aware that in our sect, Foundation Establishment cultivators are not many, totaling only about five or six hundred. However, the sect’s affairs are numerous, so it is inevitable that some tasks will be assigned to Nephew.”

”But rest assured, Nephew, these tasks aren’t dangerous; it’s just that some places need a Foundation Establishment cultivator to hold the fort.”

This final sentence could be called a candid exchange.

As for the task assignment, Ji Yuan already knew; before leaving Wan You Island, Phoenix Peach had also mentioned it.

The reality is as Master Xuan Shui stated; there are too few Foundation Establishment cultivators in the sect, so each must take on some responsibilities.

Of course, the rewards given by the sect will not be meager.

If they truly were meager... all the Foundation Establishment cultivators would surely run away.

As for tasks, just like the previous selection at Cloud Rain Marsh Water Dragon Sect, every market needs a Foundation Establishment cultivator to oversee it, or many halls within the sect need them to sit in.

Or go to other sects for exchange, or to serve in certain towns, etc.

”Naturally, Sect Leader Martial Uncle will instruct me at that time.”

Ji Yuan stood up and cupped his hands.

”Hmm.”

Master Xuan Shui stroked his beard with a smile, ”Here, this is the sect’s gift to congratulate your Foundation Establishment success.”

As he spoke, a storage bag landed in Ji Yuan’s hand.

He invaded it with his Divine Sense, and immediately understood.

mid-grade spirit stones, a deep blue protective robe at the low-grade spiritual artifact level, a water flow flying sword also at the low-grade spiritual artifact level, a technique named ”Water Dragon Technique,” three bottles of Tier Two spirit gathering pills for cultivation, and ten Tier Two talismans, including five attack talismans and five protective talismans.

It was indeed the sect’s ”Foundation Establishment Gift Set.”

”With Nephew’s Foundation Establishment success, you are now eligible to cultivate our sect’s core technique, the ’Water Dragon Technique’.”

”Additionally, the sect has several treasure lands for cultivation; be it for absorbing spiritual power or practicing techniques, they are open to Nephew. You can inquire about them later, I won’t elaborate much. Next, Nephew should first choose the location of your island.”

As Master Xuan Shui spoke, he swept his right hand, and a huge geomancy map appeared between the two of them.

With the infusion of Spiritual Qi, the entire geomancy map seemed to come alive, islands manifested amidst the clouds and mist, and the endless marsh appeared with rippling waters.

It was as if the entire Water Dragon Sect was contained within this geomancy map.

”Nephew, come over and take a look, choose anywhere, and let me know directly, or you can first pick a general area and then go there personally to take a look.”

If it were someone else, Master Xuan Shui would certainly not have such patience.

But unfortunately, Ji Yuan is not just anyone.

He is a disciple of a Golden Core Zhenren, especially when that Golden Core Zhenren is named Hua Yaoyue.

Ji Yuan stood before the geomancy map, as if overlooking the entire Water Dragon Sect.

To the east of Chulong Island, to the eastern side of the Water Dragon Sect, is Hua Yaoyue’s Wan You Island.

Isle Master Tie Chui’s Hammer Island is located to the west of the Water Dragon Sect.

Yesterday, Phoenix Peach and Yun Qianzai also informed him of the location of their islands, among which Phoenix Peach’s Fire Phoenix Island is not far from Hua Yaoyue’s Wan You Island, both in the east of the Water Dragon Sect.

Yun Qianzai’s Tiannu Island is further away, positioned to the north of the Water Dragon Sect, not far from Starfall River.

In his words at that time, ”I shall guard the northern frontier for the sect!”

He certainly seized every opportunity to appear impressive.

Ji Yuan naturally wouldn’t choose an island to the north; it’s connected to Starfall River, frequented by great demons, making it an unsafe choice.

Moreover, he also wouldn’t select the east, as it’s too close to Hua Yaoyue and Phoenix Peach.

Ji Yuan felt his secrets were too great, so he dared not be too close to others.
