I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 872: Chapter 872: Obstacle or Ally?

After issuing the order, Qin Zhu proceeded at full speed towards the entrance of the Nine Netherworld.

He understood very well what kind of organization Dark Rising was.

The things handled by Dark Rising themselves and those handled by him voluntarily were two entirely different matters.

The position as the Lord of the Nine Netherworld was now untenable. He had to find a secure place for himself, and Dark Rising was his only choice. He had to personally deliver the allegiance token.

”Kid, wait for me.”

After saying this, Qin Zhu unleashed his full speed, rushing towards the outskirts of the Nine Netherworld.

Indeed, he also possessed abilities similar to the Touch of Reincarnation.

He could obtain the memories of the deceased by touching the dead.

He memorized Lin Yi’s aura, so as long as he got close enough, he would be able to sense Lin Yi’s presence.

As for Lin Yi and his companions, they, just as Qin Zhu anticipated, were trying to get closer to the outskirts of the Nine Netherworld.

To leave this land of trouble, the only way was to return via the original route.

On this path, they still needed to do their best to avoid the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers along the way.

Just as they were about to reach the entrance of Jiuyou City and ready to leave the Nine Netherworld smoothly, a middle-aged man in black robes blocked their way.

At this moment, Lin Yi and the other two were just about to step out of the Jiuyou Inner City’s gate, never expecting such a change to occur.

The middle-aged man’s aura was restrained, not emitting a trace of Divine Power or the Power of the Primordial.

”Greetings, young ones. It appears to be fate that led me to intercept you three just before you left.”

Qin Zhu’s attitude was very polite, making it hard for anyone to resent him.

Lin Yi was momentarily unsure if he should make a move directly.

”May I ask who the senior is?”

Judging from the time taken to understand with the Eye of All-Seeing, it wasn’t hard to see the strength of the middle-aged man in front of them. Even knowing the opposing stances, Lin Yi felt he should remain a polite young man.

Upon hearing this, Qin Zhu’s view of Lin Yi immediately changed.

If he was targeting Shakyamuni, he was either from Dark Rising or from All Celestial Divine Beings, with the former being more likely.

From Lin Yi’s speech, it wasn’t hard to see that he was a broad-minded yet polite young man, neither humble nor overbearing.

Such excellence, having the potential for future cooperation; in truth, it was hard not to admire, so Qin Zhu decided to give him a chance.

”Impressive, young man. Such perception was beyond my expectations. Since you’ve guessed my identity, there’s no need for us to beat around the bush.”

”I have just two questions. If your cooperation is good, you may leave, simple as that.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Yi was already eighty percent sure of his counterpart’s identity.

”Senior, please ask.”

Qin Zhu extended two fingers.

”The first question: who are you working for, Dark Rising or those Upper-Rank Gods? Answer honestly, don’t try to brush it off with lies.”

After speaking, Qin Zhu retracted one finger.

”The second question: where is Shakyamuni? Hand him over.”

”Once this is done, you may leave.”

You have to admit, Qin Zhu was straightforward in his dealings, which Lin Yi quite appreciated.

Two questions, not really making things difficult, but the second one was quite hard to answer.

From the words of the person in front, Lin Yi was quite certain he was the Lord of the Nine Netherworld, the father of Lin You and Qin Guang—Qin Zhu!

Lin Yi paused briefly, organized his thoughts, and then spoke.

”We are working for Dark Rising. Our task this time was to take away Shakyamuni.”

”As for the second question, we didn’t see Shakyamuni, but we know he’s already dead.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Zhu’s amiable gaze instantly sharpened.

Shakyamuni was dead? Then what about the allegiance token that Qin Zhu had to offer?

With nothing in hand, how could he let Dark Rising protect himself and the Nine Netherworld behind him?

”Senior, please do not be agitated. We can explain the situation.”

”If my guess is correct, you should be the Lord of the Nine Netherworld, Qin Zhu?”

Qin Zhu’s gaze momentarily softened.

The young man in front could guess his identity, indicating his capability.

The curiosity within him was instantly piqued.

He was curious to see what the young man in front had to say.

”This task of ours was to take away Shakyamuni. As for the ultimate purpose, I presume you know better than us. Knowing our capabilities were limited, we used disguise skills to infiltrate, aiming to minimize conflicts within the Nine Netherworld.”

Upon these words, Lin Yi lifted his [Seventy-Two Transformations] skill, revealing the trio’s true appearances.

This gesture could be considered a demonstration of sincerity.

”By creating chaos and setting up scapegoats, we obtained qualifications to enter the eighteenth layer of Hell, and successfully infiltrated it. After dealing with the guards of the Punishment Department, we reached the Sealed Land, which is the entrance of the Nine Nether River.”

”The blood used to open the seal belonged to your daughter, Qin Xinxin.”

Upon hearing this, a surging murderous intent instantly erupted from Qin Zhu.

For his own children, Qin Zhu had nothing but love, even though his eldest daughter was rebellious and disrupted his plans, she was still his beloved.

Hearing Lin Yi used his daughter’s blood to open the seal, he became furious on the spot, extending his hand towards Lin Yi’s head.

At this critical moment, a spatial ripple unfolded beside Lin Yi, followed by a petite figure stepping forward to stand in front of Lin Yi.

Lin Qianqian!

Or, Qin Qianqian!

”You, you’re Qianqian?!”

After a thousand years, Qin Qianqian had changed significantly, enough to render her father slightly unfamiliar at first glance.

Yet Qin Zhu could still discern from the familiar bloodline aura in front of him that the little girl standing there was indeed his daughter.

”Father, sister, she’s dead!”

As she spoke, Qin Qianqian threw herself into Qin Zhu’s embrace.

Those simple words caused Qin Zhu’s thoughts to momentarily freeze. His daughter was undoubtedly an Upper-Rank God level powerhouse. How many in the Three Realms and Six Paths could threaten her life?

Qin Zhu found it hard to believe this was real.

”Don’t rush, tell me slowly.”

Feeling his daughter’s tears flowing, Qin Zhu was filled with heartache.

But as a father, he had to give his youngest daughter more sense of security at this moment.

”Father, the one who acted was elder brother’s subordinate, Old Ghost, using the Lifebound Divine Artifact elder brother gave him, the Soul-breaking Blade. Sister was hit by the Soul-breaking Blade’s attack...”

Having heard this, Qin Zhu’s fury blazed even more intensely.

He never expected his own son could bring harm to his sibling.

”Senior Qin Zhu, Shakyamuni left some time ago. His soul should be with Qin Guang, and his body was thrown into the Nine Nether River after I killed the old ghost that claimed it.”

”This sums up what we did upon arrival. As for why I could activate that special seal, it was because of Lin You, also known as Qin Xinxin. She is my comrade. She did it to help me accomplish the mission, and the current situation has exceeded what I anticipated, so we’re looking to leave this Land of the Nine Netherworld as soon as possible.”
