I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 856: Chapter 856: A Greeting That Cannot Be Sent

The Jiuyou City was solemn and majestic.

The bluestone bricks piled up into an endless Jiuyou Inner City.

Compared to the desolate outer city, the inner city was much more prosperous.

Though it wasn’t as flourishing as ancient Xia, without taverns, teahouses, or carriage stations, it was packed with bustling figures.

To be precise, it was countless ghosts, and the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers escorting them.

Due to the inability to use skills, Lin Yi and the others could only blend into the crowd, relying on the disguise effect of the Seventy-Two Transformations, moving towards their destination.

But upon reaching a certain point, the group had to slow down their pace.

“We are currently in the east of Jiuyou City. This place is where the undead of the Three Realms and Six Paths must pass, it’s also the path to the depths of the Nine Nether, beneath the Eighteen Levels of Hell. To go deeper, we must pass through the Judgment Hall and the test of Yama there, only then we can continue further.”

Truth be told, without Lin You’s help, no matter how powerful Lin Yi was, it would be difficult to complete the mission given by Dark Rising.

As for Jiuyou affairs, outsiders barely knew much.

Moreover, even if one’s abilities were significant, wanting to delve into the Nine Nether without being detected is basically impossible.

The moat itself is already quite tricky, not because the undead creatures inside couldn’t be dealt with, but because avoiding detection is too difficult.

Ziyue thought the difficulties would end here, but unexpectedly, it was just the beginning.

“Judgment Yama is just a job title. In fact, that fat guy doesn’t have any soul-judging ability; the truly powerful thing is the Judgment Spirit Crystal he manages.”

Lin You pointed at the corpulent long-bearded man sitting on a high altar in the distance, speaking.

“That dark-blue crystal in his hand is the Judgment Spirit Crystal. After being infused with Source Power, the Judgment Spirit Crystal can detect the sins of a Soul Body during its lifetime, determining what kind of punishment the Soul Body must endure to acquire the qualification for reincarnation. Upon gaining Judgment Yama’s consent, the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers can continue bringing the Soul Body deeper.”

“So, do you understand our task now?”

The task content isn’t complicated:

Firstly, Lin Yi and his group must find a sufficient number of severely sinful Soul Bodies in the east of Jiuyou City, obtaining Judgment Yama’s approval to proceed deeper.

“So how do we do it? Do we just act directly? Doing so under so many people’s gaze, wouldn’t that attract attention from the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers and Judgment Yama?”

Listening to Ziyue’s words, Lin Yi and his group were speechless.

No wonder she worked for Dark Rising for so many years, yet her growth in strength and status remained pitifully low.

Saying such words also matches the fact that her strength hasn’t increased over the years.

“I really don’t know how to respond to you. Isn’t this like solving a high school student’s problem?”

“What do you mean?”

Ziyue looked bewildered, clearly not faking her adorable confusion.

Speechless is truly speechless, but for the plan’s smooth execution and to encourage this sister to use her brain for improving mission success rates, Lin Yi began earnestly explaining.

“For us to pass smoothly, the most crucial and important thing is not to be detected by the Nine Nether Divine Soldiers and Judgment Yama, while under this condition, secretly and unnoticeably snatch Soul Bodies meeting our expectations from other Nine Nether Divine Soldiers.”

“To achieve this, we inevitably need to rely on our mastered skills, but there’s a Skill Sensing Crystal Stone in the east of Jiuyou City, so what should we do?”

With this explanation, Ziyue suddenly understood.

The current most important task is to secretly destroy the Skill Sensing Spirit Crystal.

After pondering for a while, Lin Yi identified the best candidate to execute this task—Hou.

In terms of physical quality and personal combat power, relying solely on innate strength, none in Lin Yi’s group could surpass him.

Sending him to destroy the Sensing Spirit Crystal was the optimal choice.

“Look, Brother Hou, among us, your strength is the greatest, and you can deliver the highest damage in the shortest time. Moreover, your movement speed far exceeds ours, so after making your move, I’ll open the Undead Space to release some undead creatures, allowing you to retreat into the Undead Space amidst the chaos, wouldn’t that be seamless?”

Hou glanced at the surrounding domain.

Then considering the image of the Lord of the Nine Nether he had, he immediately shuddered.

Indeed, his power was strong, but not strong enough to face the Lord of the Nine Nether.

Thinking he might be violently beaten like a dog, Hou immediately rejected Lin Yi’s proposal.

“Your tasks are your own. I indeed want to follow you so that when the boss is freed, I can serve the boss immediately, but I didn’t agree to become your henchman.”

“Solve your own matters yourselves.”

The density of ghosts in the east of the city is extremely high, prolonged chatting might just expose them.

To persuade Hou to act willingly, Lin Yi immediately rolled up his sleeves.

“Well then, never mind, Brother Hou, I’ll just charge through.”

Lin Yi finished speaking, ready to act.

This scene directly frightened Hou into having weak legs.

“Oh my god, my ancestor, don’t pressure me, I’ll comply, is that okay? I’ll move immediately!”

Having no choice, Hou hurriedly acted and grabbed Lin Yi’s right hand.

His boss was on Lin Yi, if anything happened to Lin Yi, wouldn’t his boss be gone too?

Rather than letting Lin Yi escalate things and provoke Jiuyou big shots, it was more prudent for Hou to do everything to help Lin Yi and his group achieve their goal.

Turning around, Lin Yi looked sincerely at Hou.

“Brother Hou, isn’t helping us like this too onerous?”

I…

If there were fewer people around at the moment, Hou would have graciously sent floral greetings to Lin Yi’s family.

Now, he could only freeze and nod with a mind full of horses wading through grass.

“Don’t worry, it won’t be too hard. Are you guys ready? If you are ready, I’m about to begin!”

As Hou prepared to act, Lin Yi grabbed his hand.

“Brother Hou, hold on, doing things ought to be gradual. Do you happen to have a weapon with decent power but isn’t crucially important to you in your personal space?”

Hou was baffled, but he genuinely nodded.

“I do.”

“How to arrange.”

The sky over the east of Jiuyou City remained chaotic.

Seated on the high altar, Judgment Yama suddenly felt something was off.

In the east of Jiuyou City, there seemed to be a foreign and strong aura mixing in.

He gestured for the Soul Body awaiting testing to hold off for a moment.

Then narrowed his eyes, began to sense seriously.

“Hmm? Didn’t sense anything unfit for this place, did I misperceive?”

While Judgment Yama fell into self-doubt, anomalies occurred.
